00:00 Shannon Bedore has been sentenced in her DUI case.
00:03 The Real Housewives of Orange County star was sentenced to 36 months of probation,
00:08 must pay fines and fees, and serve 40 hours of community service,
00:12 according to court documents obtained by Access Hollywood.
00:16 Her hit-and-run charge has been dismissed, per the docs.
00:19 However, the Orange County District Attorney wanted a harsher sentence.
00:23 Per court docs obtained by Access, he asked for her to serve 30 days in jail.
00:28 Bedore's lawyer spoke out to Access Hollywood after her sentencing, saying the reality star,
00:33 quote, "took full responsibility for her actions and accepted the judge's sentence."
00:38 Shannon also added, quote, "I am grateful that no one else was injured besides me in this incident.
00:44 I have learned so much from my terrible mistake that night
00:47 and realized that driving any distance while impaired is too far."
00:52 The reality star was arrested on September 17th and just over a month later, on October 27th,
00:58 she was charged with two misdemeanors,
01:00 for allegedly driving under the influence and for an alleged hit-and-run.
01:04 Per court docs obtained by Access, at the time of her arrest,
01:08 her blood alcohol content was 0.24 percent, which is three times the legal limit.
01:13 On the night of her arrest, Newport Beach Police responded to a traffic collision of,
01:18 quote, "a vehicle colliding into a building,"
01:21 which prosecutors allege resulted in over $24,000 worth of damage.
01:26 A trail of debris led to Bedour, who had been seen exiting the vehicle with her dog.
01:31 Following her arrest, Shannon spoke out on October 18th, posting a selfie video on social media,
01:39 seemingly addressing the legal matter at hand, but still playing coy.
01:42 "I know it's been a while since I posted and there's been a lot of talk about everything
01:48 that's happened recently, but unfortunately right now I'm not in the position to comment,
01:54 but there will be a time when I can, and I intend to be open, honest and authentic."
01:58 Shannon's former co-star, Vicki Gunvalson,
02:01 recently shared her perspective on the incident while on Access' Housewives Nightcap.
02:06 "Yeah, I've been in touch with her every day. We just got off the phone.
02:10 She's doing good. She's taking ownership of it. She's getting some health treatment,
02:15 but she is one incredible woman. She's taking ownership of this. The ironic thing is,
02:20 Shannon doesn't and hasn't drink and drive. She is an Uber girl. She spends a ton of money a month,
02:28 but that night it was an unfortunate situation. Shannon had been out with some friends and
02:33 she might've had one too many and then went to go try to find her phone. She thought she left it at
02:38 the restaurant, so she got in her car because she couldn't call an Uber to find her phone
02:42 because she didn't have her phone. So it was just a very unfortunate, quick, wrong decision,
02:47 and she's owning it. She's going to take full responsibility. She's already made restitution
02:52 with the little garden wall that she hit. I'm so proud of her. I've hugged her and loved on her.
03:01 And I said, "You know what? Accidents happen. This is an accident. You take ownership of this.
03:05 You get in front of it." And she's doing all of that, not just because of me. She knew she had
03:10 to do that. She's a public figure and I'm just so super proud of her. She is totally saying,
03:16 "I messed up. Give me what I need to do to make restitution and I'll do it."
