Ole Miss vs Texas A&M Preview.
Transcript
00:00 >> Hello, I'm Skylar Gerard, this is Ben King and this is John Gillespie and
00:04 we're here with Fanation The Grove Report.
00:06 So what are y'all's thoughts on the Jimbo Fisher and Lane Kiffin feud going on?
00:11 >> I think it stems back obviously to a few years ago when Kiffin made some
00:16 comments about A&M's recruiting class that was before the NIL era.
00:21 Jimbo proceeded to call Lane the clown, basically not using his name,
00:26 I don't believe, but still.
00:28 I don't think they like one another.
00:29 I do think Lane will pick at some people that he does like, but
00:33 this one actually feels a little more real.
00:35 I don't think they really like one another and it adds a little spice to
00:40 a game that's not really a historic rivalry between these two schools.
00:43 >> Yeah, they've been going back for three years.
00:46 They've been a little quiet this week.
00:48 I know Lane threw one earlier this week,
00:50 talking once again about A&M's recruiting class and
00:53 how Ole Miss has been in the top ten the past three years and
00:56 they haven't scratched the top ten with their recruiting classes.
00:58 So he's finding a way to get jabs in.
01:00 I think it's gonna pick up on game day like it has the last two years also.
01:03 He's been very vocal on the live TV hot mic when talking about Jimbo, or
01:08 referring to Jimbo at least.
01:09 So I expect it to be spicy on Saturday.
01:12 >> And what are y'all's keys to the game?
01:14 >> I think I usually watch skilled players more so than in the trenches, but
01:19 I really am interested to see how Ole Miss offensive line handles this front seven.
01:22 Because Lane is right, I mean,
01:25 whenever he has talked about A&M's talent to have on the roster,
01:29 a lot of that is on the defensive line and linebacker.
01:31 Seeing how the offensive line holds up,
01:34 being able to keep back some of those athletes, I think would be pretty big.
01:40 >> Yeah, like John said, that defensive front is crazy.
01:42 Junior, Edrin Cooper, already has seven sacks.
01:44 So he's gonna have to be spotted pretty much every single snap by Jackson Dart and
01:47 the offensive line.
01:49 Josh Deberry has two interceptions.
01:50 So Dart's been kind of not pick happy, but
01:52 he's thrown a few careless throws here and there the last few games.
01:55 So gonna have to watch out for him.
01:57 And then on offense, Aeneas Smith and Evan Stewart are the two guys to look out for.
02:00 Both have over 500 receiving yards so far.
02:03 Evan Stewart's more of the red zone threat.
02:05 He's got four touchdowns, along with Noah Thomas also has four touchdowns.
02:09 But those three guys mainly gotta watch on offense.
02:11 And then Max Johnson, backup quarterback, having himself a pretty good year,
02:15 a decent year.
02:17 Big Georgia kid, 6'6", 230 pounds, so you gotta watch out for him, yeah.
02:22 >> And what are y'all's predictions?
02:24 >> I think it'll be a close one.
02:25 I do like Ole Miss at home.
02:27 I think that we're starting to see over these last few years,
02:33 an environment at Vaught-Hemingway that is not historically known for
02:38 being that raucous, really turn into an advantage.
02:42 It just really seems like this team plays better at home.
02:44 Obviously, they're favored in Vegas right now, but it is kind of close.
02:48 I'll take Ole Miss by seven.
02:50 >> I'm also gonna take Ole Miss in a tight home battle.
02:52 Atmosphere's definitely gonna play a role for Ole Miss, help them out.
02:55 It's gonna be a big day on the ground for the Rebels.
02:57 Quenshawn Judkins is at 224 yards on the ground the last two games.
03:01 So he ran for over 200 yards on the Aggies last year.
03:04 So I think it's gonna be a big Quenshawn day tomorrow.
03:07 I think Ole Miss wins 35-24.
03:09 >> And you can watch Ole Miss and A&M play against each other on Saturday in
03:13 Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
03:15 It'll be televised on ESPN.
