Amid the cost of living crisis, help given to those across the UK include fuel vouchers and the Household Support Fund. With the second cost of living payment set to be paid to those eligible, what more do we know about it?

00:00 Millions of low-income households across the UK are expected to receive the second instalment
00:07 of the cost of living payments.
00:09 8 million people on means-tested benefits will receive £300 by the 19th November.
00:15 This is the second of three instalments which will altogether total £900.
00:19 The payment will land directly in eligible recipients' bank accounts without the need
00:23 to make a claim.
00:24 But people are being warned about scammers using this scheme as a ploy to trick people
00:28 into handing over personal information.
00:30 The first of the cost of living payments was paid in spring and the final is expected to
00:34 be paid in spring 2024.
00:36 A committee of MPs is currently investigating whether the payments are supporting those
00:40 most in need.
00:41 The 1.1 million people who receive only working tax credit or child tax credit rather than
00:47 any of the other benefits will be paid slightly later than others.
