00:00 Hello, I'm Jeanette Walsh, aka Mother Christmas.
00:05 This is my 21st year of trying to help as many families and children as I can, and young people.
00:15 I just want to say thank you for all the years of support you've given to this campaign.
00:23 It really does mean a lot.
00:25 However, this year is going to be quite a difficult year because there's a lot more families across Northamptonshire in need.
00:36 So I really, really need your help this year, please.
00:42 I know you won't let me down. Thank you.
00:44 I've collected anything from 0 to 18, 21, so teenage gifts would be vouchers, smelly stuff, gloves, hot water bottles, chocolates, children's toys, anything that way.
01:03 As long, and I really do stress this, as long as it's brand new.
01:08 Brand new means so much to these people that have nothing.
01:13 I was brought up in a children's home, and every year Father Christmas would come round and give us a gift that we didn't know where it came from,
01:22 and they didn't know who they were giving it to, but they'd give us a gift that was brand new.
01:28 And if it meant nothing else other than it was brand new and it was just for me, just for me, nobody else had had it, and that's why it's special.
01:39 And that's why I do this.
