00:34 Me coming here and the president being elsewhere and other leaders,
00:41 we are actually partnering with the Department of Education
00:46 to show that we all want the integrity of our exams
00:53 to be upheld and to be beyond reproach.
00:57 That is what we are seeking here.
01:00 So by us joining and encouraging them at this particular moment,
01:04 I think it's not just a question of us being here for the sake of it.
01:11 I think we want to send a very strong symbolism to the people of Kenya
01:16 that the integrity of the exams is paramount
01:19 so that their credentials can be recognized,
01:24 not just within our boundaries but even beyond.
01:28 So that is absolutely important.
01:30 No supervisor should repeat a center more than twice,
01:34 as a supervisor and an investigator,
01:37 so that then we bring in objectivity.
01:41 You know, the more you get used to a place,
01:43 then your objectivity grows,
01:46 and then you may start having some second,
01:49 because you have known the place.
01:52 This time around, sir, to make sure that we effectively deliver this examination,
01:59 we are again saying that the supervisors and investigators
02:03 that are primary school teachers, man the exam in primary school.
02:09 And the teachers in secondary school also man the examination in secondary school.
02:15 That means the investigators and supervisors at secondary school level
02:20 are going to be secondary school teachers.
02:25 To eliminate again what has been slightly bedeviling us,
02:31 that is early exposure,
02:35 at secondary school level we are going to have the container opened twice.
02:41 One in the morning at 7 a.m. in the morning,
02:46 so that we get the morning paper only,
02:49 the papers that are done in that morning.
02:51 And then once these papers have been done,
02:54 then they are returned to the container
02:57 just to get the paper that was being done in the afternoon.
03:02 So that then we can have very little time
03:07 that the teachers have or the school has with the examination.
