00:00:00 (upbeat music)
00:00:02 - Second Samuel is what I wanna read.
00:00:22 I'm gonna start, you know, my notes say one thing,
00:00:26 but then I get to reading and I can't help it.
00:00:30 So let's just read for a minute.
00:00:33 Again, at the first verse,
00:00:35 again, David gathered all the choice men, that's important,
00:00:40 all the choice men of Israel.
00:00:42 There were a lot of men of Israel,
00:00:44 but there was a demarcation between just the men of Israel
00:00:49 and the choice men of Israel.
00:00:51 Look at somebody and tell them
00:00:52 you sit next to somebody chosen today.
00:00:54 (congregation laughing)
00:00:56 Yes, he chose.
00:00:58 He gathered 30,000 of them.
00:01:02 And David arose and went with all the people
00:01:04 who were with him from Baal, Judah,
00:01:07 to bring up from there the ark of God,
00:01:12 of hosts who dwells between the cherubims.
00:01:17 So he's made a decision here,
00:01:19 I'm going and I'm not going by myself,
00:01:21 but I'm taking 30,000 men and I'm going after God.
00:01:24 That's what he's saying right there.
00:01:26 We are going after God.
00:01:29 We're not just going after any God,
00:01:30 we're going after the God whose name is called
00:01:33 by the name of the Lord of hosts
00:01:35 who dwells between the cherubim.
00:01:38 So they set the ark of God between,
00:01:42 so they set the ark of God on a new cart
00:01:44 and they brought it out of the house of Abinadab,
00:01:47 which was on the hill and Uzzah and Ahiel,
00:01:50 the sons of Abinadab, they drove the new cart
00:01:54 and they brought it out of the house of Abinadab,
00:01:58 which was on the hill, accompanying the ark of God.
00:02:02 And Ahiel went before the ark.
00:02:06 Then David and all of the house of Israel,
00:02:08 they played music before the Lord
00:02:10 on all kinds of instruments,
00:02:12 fur and wood, on harps, on string instruments,
00:02:16 on tambourines, on cisterns and on cymbals.
00:02:20 And when they came to Nachan's threshing floor,
00:02:25 Uzzah, Lord help Uzzah,
00:02:29 Uzzah put out his little hand
00:02:33 to the ark of God
00:02:37 and he took a hold of it
00:02:42 for the oxen stumbled.
00:02:46 Then the anger of the Lord was aroused against Uzzah
00:02:50 and God struck him there for his error
00:02:55 and he died there by the ark of God.
00:03:00 David became angry because of the Lord's outbreak
00:03:03 against Uzzah and he called the name of the place
00:03:06 Perez Uzzah to this day.
00:03:09 David was afraid of the Lord.
00:03:12 This David loved the Lord.
00:03:15 The Lord loved David,
00:03:17 but now God has struck his friend.
00:03:21 Now David is troubled.
00:03:24 He was afraid of the Lord that day.
00:03:27 And he said, how can, here's the important question,
00:03:31 how can the ark of the Lord come to me?
00:03:36 I want this thing back and it matters to me.
00:03:43 And I just lost one of the best men right here.
00:03:46 So I need, I got questions.
00:03:49 I've got some questions God,
00:03:53 because I don't wanna live without you.
00:03:55 And I don't wanna live in a big old palace without you.
00:03:59 I ain't trying to run this kingdom without you.
00:04:02 So I need you in my life.
00:04:04 Now just tell me how that I can get you back
00:04:10 to the place where you belong in my life
00:04:13 without any more casualties,
00:04:19 without any more people dying.
00:04:20 But what I love about David,
00:04:23 it just says it right there in the first couple of verses.
00:04:27 And David gathered all of the choice men of Israel, 30,000.
00:04:31 And David arose and he went with all of the people
00:04:33 who were with him from Baal Judah
00:04:36 to bring up from there the ark of God.
00:04:40 Look at your neighbor on the right and say neighbor.
00:04:44 If you want it, you gotta go after it.
00:04:48 Turn to your other neighbor, say neighbor.
00:04:51 If you want it, you gotta go after it.
00:04:54 Father today, I honor you and I thank you
00:04:58 for the fact that this word is already Rhema.
00:05:00 It's already coming alive in us.
00:05:03 We ask God that you would speak in this place.
00:05:05 I don't know who needs what,
00:05:07 but you know who needs everything.
00:05:09 And you're able God to talk until we recognize
00:05:12 that it is your voice talking in our life,
00:05:14 in our circumstances, in our families and in our minds.
00:05:18 So have your way God today.
00:05:20 Use me to break the bread and feed those
00:05:22 that are hungry in this place.
00:05:24 Those that are watching online, feed them today, God.
00:05:28 And when it's all said and done,
00:05:29 we will give you all the glory and honor
00:05:31 and praise in Jesus name.
00:05:33 Somebody clap your hands and thank him in advance
00:05:37 for what you're about to eat.
00:05:38 Yes, come on, give him a real clap of your hands.
00:05:43 On your way down, just touch somebody and say,
00:05:48 if you look over here and see that I'm gone,
00:05:52 that's 'cause I'm going after God.
00:05:55 I'm going after God.
00:05:56 Amen.
00:06:01 Have y'all been enjoying our worship series?
00:06:04 I've been enjoying it and I really,
00:06:06 and we're on target with it because the whole desire
00:06:12 for us to speak about worship in the life of a worshiper
00:06:17 was so that not, we didn't come out here
00:06:20 with the intention to tell you what Shabbat means,
00:06:23 what Barak means, what Tehillah means,
00:06:26 what all, I'm not talking about Barak the president,
00:06:30 and I'm not talking about tequila, I said Tehillah.
00:06:34 Okay?
00:06:36 That's right, we gotta get it straight.
00:06:39 But our goal was to whet your appetite as it were,
00:06:45 to understand the things of God and to have a desire
00:06:49 to really go after God and how much you need him.
00:06:53 Actually, one of our biggest goals was for a church
00:06:57 to not be something that you just experience in this room,
00:07:00 but something that you live in your life,
00:07:02 at your home, with your family,
00:07:04 or whether you're single, ever how, you do it all.
00:07:08 You do it, not just in this building,
00:07:10 but it becomes a lifestyle to you.
00:07:13 And that's what our desire was.
00:07:15 And I feel like we're helping paint that picture.
00:07:19 When we are talking about some of these things you'll hear
00:07:23 and it'll be familiar, especially if you maybe were here
00:07:25 and you enjoyed the Wednesday night Bible studies
00:07:29 that Bishop was doing for us earlier in the year.
00:07:32 He talked about the ark of God, talked about the tabernacle
00:07:37 and whenever we are talking about here,
00:07:40 whenever we're talking about the ark of God,
00:07:42 we are talking about the presence of God.
00:07:46 So whenever you see the scripture there talking
00:07:49 about the ark, what are we talking about?
00:07:52 The presence.
00:07:53 The ark of God was a piece of holy furniture
00:07:57 and it was carried around all throughout the Old Testament
00:08:02 and it was carried and it was symbolized.
00:08:04 It symbolized the very presence of God
00:08:07 and God's covenant with his people.
00:08:10 The design of the ark was very significant as well
00:08:15 because it was wood that was overlaid with gold.
00:08:20 Now wood represents humanity, okay?
00:08:25 So the wood there is representing God's humanity.
00:08:28 The gold that it is overlaid with
00:08:31 is representing God's divinity.
00:08:34 So I want you to try to picture with me.
00:08:37 It had gold on the top and it had gold on the bottom
00:08:41 and the wood was between those two pieces of gold.
00:08:46 The gold on the bottom represents God in Christ
00:08:50 reconciling the world unto himself.
00:08:55 The gold on the top represents Christ being glorified
00:09:00 and the wood in between, it represents the holy thing
00:09:05 that Mary gave birth to.
00:09:08 The wood which represented the flesh, it was corruptible
00:09:14 but the gold was pure and the gold was divine
00:09:18 and the gold was eternal and all together
00:09:22 it represented God and man merged together
00:09:27 in the man, Christ Jesus.
00:09:31 Now you need to take all that home and study it out.
00:09:34 I just gave you a big chunk of meat right there
00:09:39 that you could take home and study it out.
00:09:42 There were three things that were inside
00:09:46 of the Ark of God.
00:09:48 Those three things were, one was Aaron's rod that budded.
00:09:53 I am not even gonna break that down.
00:09:55 I'm gonna tell you to go home and get your Bible program out
00:09:59 or get my Bible program out which is Google
00:10:01 'cause it's the best to me in the world.
00:10:04 But get Aaron and just look it up and say
00:10:07 what is Aaron's rod that budded in case you don't know?
00:10:11 That's the first thing that was in there.
00:10:13 The second thing that was in there was a tablet
00:10:15 or tablets of stone.
00:10:17 The third thing was a pot of manna
00:10:21 and there were two angels which were called the cherubims
00:10:26 and they were on the very top of the Ark.
00:10:29 Whenever they carried the Ark anywhere,
00:10:34 they had to carry it on staves, S-T-A-V-E-S.
00:10:39 If you wonder what a stave is,
00:10:43 staves were very long sticks and they would put the stick
00:10:48 through the handle that they had on the Ark
00:10:52 so that they could carry it up on their shoulders.
00:10:56 And whenever the enemy would look up and see God in motion,
00:11:01 whenever the enemy would look and see
00:11:06 that God was coming in their direction,
00:11:09 they were horrified, they were petrified.
00:11:13 The Bible says that when the Philistines
00:11:15 were ready to kill the Israelites,
00:11:18 they looked up and they saw the Ark of God coming
00:11:23 and they heard the Israelites as they were shouting.
00:11:27 And when they heard and saw what they heard and saw,
00:11:30 they were terrified because they knew
00:11:33 that if the Israelites brought God into the battle,
00:11:39 there was absolutely no way that the Philistines could win.
00:11:44 There would be no way.
00:11:46 Once God came into the battle,
00:11:48 look at somebody and tell them
00:11:50 the battle belongs to the Lord.
00:11:52 And they knew that.
00:11:55 Everybody that fought with them knew
00:11:58 that if they had the Ark of the Covenant,
00:12:00 that there was no way that they could be defeated.
00:12:03 The Ark of the Covenant is what empowered them
00:12:06 to come through the wilderness.
00:12:08 We preached about wilderness wanderings last week.
00:12:11 The Ark of the Covenant brought them through.
00:12:13 The Ark of the Covenant brought them through the Jordan.
00:12:16 The Ark of the Covenant is what helped them
00:12:19 to march around the walls of Jericho
00:12:22 until the walls began to fall.
00:12:24 Because whenever God fights with you
00:12:27 and whenever he fights for you,
00:12:29 you will get the victory.
00:12:32 How many of you know that's the truth?
00:12:36 They fought, they fought for the Ark of the Covenant
00:12:41 and they fought against the heathens.
00:12:44 So they put out the Jebusites and they put out the Hittites
00:12:48 and they put out the Geresites
00:12:50 and they put out the Amorites
00:12:51 and every other ite that was there.
00:12:54 They rebuked them all by the power
00:12:58 and the presence of the Almighty God.
00:13:01 But here's where Israel messes up.
00:13:04 Israel keeps fooling around with this thing
00:13:09 that is called idolatry.
00:13:11 I ain't gonna talk about that today
00:13:14 'cause that's gonna make everybody uncomfortable.
00:13:16 But you gotta be careful not to fool around with idolatry.
00:13:20 And a lot of it was coming from Hophni and Phinehas
00:13:25 who were the sons of Eli who was the priest.
00:13:29 And Eli was preaching one thing
00:13:31 while his sons were living something else.
00:13:34 And it compromised the kingdom.
00:13:36 And so they ended up,
00:13:40 it ended up Eli telling them,
00:13:43 "Listen, what's gonna happen here
00:13:45 is people are no longer gonna wanna hear what I have to say
00:13:49 simply because y'all ain't living this yourself."
00:13:52 And so because they kept fooling around with idolatry,
00:13:57 they ended up falling into judgment
00:14:00 because to him that knoweth to do good
00:14:03 and doeth it not, it is sin.
00:14:06 They fell into judgment and they fell into captivity.
00:14:10 And when they fell, the enemy came
00:14:13 and took the Ark of the Covenant out of the camp,
00:14:17 took the Ark of the Covenant out of their midst.
00:14:21 My God, how awful would that be?
00:14:25 Lord, whatever you do, don't take your spirit away from me.
00:14:31 Don't take it away from me.
00:14:33 And the Bible says that when Eli who was the priest,
00:14:36 when he heard that his son Hothni died in the battle,
00:14:40 it hurt him, he was hurt by that.
00:14:43 And then when he heard his son Phinehas died
00:14:46 in the same battle, in the same day,
00:14:48 he was greatly hurt by that as well.
00:14:52 But when he heard that the Philistines
00:14:56 had not only taken his sons, both of his sons life,
00:14:59 but he heard that they had taken his God,
00:15:02 the Bible said that he fell off of his throne
00:15:05 and he broke his neck and he died right there.
00:15:09 His daughter-in-law went into labor and had a child
00:15:13 and they called him Ichabod,
00:15:15 which means that the glory has departed.
00:15:20 That's a sad commentary.
00:15:22 Have you ever went into a church
00:15:24 and it looks like everybody's going through the motions,
00:15:27 but there wasn't an ounce of glory in the place.
00:15:31 It was Ichabod that had been written over that place.
00:15:35 Well, that's what had happened.
00:15:37 She went into labor, not because she lost her husband,
00:15:40 but because she lost the anointing.
00:15:43 Look at somebody and tell them, I can't lose the anointing.
00:15:46 I can lose a lot of things and I can still make it,
00:15:51 but I cannot lose the anointing and still make it.
00:15:55 I've got to have the empowering, the enabling of God
00:15:59 to do what I gotta do, to go where I gotta go,
00:16:02 to say what I gotta say, to accomplish what I've got to.
00:16:06 I've got to, I can't play with that.
00:16:08 Y'all play with yours.
00:16:09 I cannot, I've got to have the anointing.
00:16:13 So now the ark has been held captive by the Philistines,
00:16:19 but God didn't wanna be, he didn't wanna be there.
00:16:22 He didn't wanna be with them.
00:16:24 And so he started kicking up a fuss
00:16:26 and all kinds of plagues started breaking out
00:16:28 and it was a mess.
00:16:30 But before we even got to that,
00:16:33 they thought they were something
00:16:34 because they had taken God.
00:16:36 Now they had the ark of the covenant.
00:16:39 They took it from the battleground at Ebenezer
00:16:43 to the temple of their idol, who was Dagon.
00:16:47 Somebody say Dagon.
00:16:48 - Dagon.
00:16:49 - Now they are celebrating
00:16:53 because they thought that they, so crazy.
00:16:56 They thought that they had defeated God,
00:16:59 but they had not, they thought we've got him.
00:17:03 We were beaten Israel and now we have captured the ark.
00:17:07 And so they put God in the temple with idolatry
00:17:12 and they shut the door.
00:17:15 But God had had enough and he got sick and tired
00:17:19 of hearing them brag about how they had taken him
00:17:23 into captivity.
00:17:24 So the next morning, look at somebody
00:17:27 and tell him it happened through the night.
00:17:29 - Yeah.
00:17:30 - So the next morning when the local citizens
00:17:34 went to see him, Dagon, who was their false God,
00:17:39 had fallen on his face right in the front
00:17:44 of the ark of Jehovah.
00:17:47 That troubled them, so they picked him back up
00:17:50 and they set him up and the next morning,
00:17:53 they came again to see what was happening.
00:17:56 And what they did when they opened the door
00:17:59 and saw him, this time not only had their idol fallen,
00:18:04 but his head was off and his hand was off.
00:18:09 He was cut off and he was lying at the doorway
00:18:16 because God, here's why I think,
00:18:18 God got tired of that false thing
00:18:22 that was standing up in his face.
00:18:25 And so he said, "Okay, I will have no other gods before me."
00:18:30 And he did that all by himself.
00:18:35 He did it without troops.
00:18:36 He did it without armies.
00:18:38 He shattered Dagon because when God wants something
00:18:42 to be tore up, he will tear it up
00:18:44 until the point that nobody has the power
00:18:47 to pull it back together again.
00:18:50 Hello, Humpty Dumpty, all the king's horses
00:18:53 and all the king's men could not put him back together again
00:18:57 and that's what he's getting ready to do
00:19:00 in some of your lives.
00:19:02 He is getting ready to take that thing
00:19:04 that's been standing up in your face
00:19:06 and he's getting ready to shatter those things.
00:19:09 And when he shatters them, you won't do it, but he does it.
00:19:13 And when he does it, these enemies,
00:19:16 you shall see no more.
00:19:22 Tell somebody, you ain't gonna look at this forever.
00:19:25 He will shatter it.
00:19:31 And let me tell you, the Bible says that the,
00:19:35 what it doesn't say is it doesn't say
00:19:37 that the anointing breaks the yoke, okay?
00:19:39 Because when something is broken, it can possibly be fixed.
00:19:43 But it says that the anointing destroys the yoke.
00:19:48 And if it is destroyed and if it is demolished
00:19:53 and if it is devastated and eradicated and terminated,
00:19:57 nothing can put that thing back together.
00:20:02 That's why you ain't gonna see that enemy no more.
00:20:05 Woo, can't nobody do it like he can.
00:20:10 Do y'all remember him ever destroying a yoke in your life?
00:20:14 He destroyed it and it was over, it was over.
00:20:17 Never wanted that again, never wanted to go that way again.
00:20:21 Never wanted to turn in that direction again.
00:20:23 Why?
00:20:24 Because the anointing destroyed the yoke.
00:20:27 And God can so deliver us that the enemy
00:20:33 will never ever again be even able to think
00:20:37 about coming to you in that area.
00:20:40 And he will never again be able
00:20:44 to put back together the snare.
00:20:47 Have you ever had God destroy a snare?
00:20:50 He destroys the snare
00:20:53 and it no longer has the power to catch you.
00:20:56 Israel's problem was that they associated with heathens.
00:21:02 Okay, the people of God had a problem
00:21:07 and they associated with heathens, okay.
00:21:12 Apart as house north had a problem
00:21:15 'cause they associated with heathens.
00:21:20 There any heathens in your life?
00:21:22 Bring 'em to church, bring 'em to church.
00:21:24 Somebody right there said, I did, right here, right?
00:21:27 See, we have to be careful who we associate with.
00:21:35 I know we say this often,
00:21:36 but the reason that you have to be careful
00:21:38 with who you associate this
00:21:40 is when you associate with heathens,
00:21:42 then you start wanting what heathens have, okay.
00:21:47 And because the heathens had a king,
00:21:50 Israel says, well, we want a king too.
00:21:53 Well, Israel already had a king,
00:21:56 but their king was an invisible king.
00:21:59 He had all power, but they wanted somebody they could see.
00:22:03 They wanted a king that would impress other people.
00:22:07 So God said, okay, great, here,
00:22:09 I'm gonna give you a man by the name of Saul.
00:22:12 Now, when Saul became king,
00:22:14 the presence of God at that moment was being held.
00:22:19 The Philistines had gotten rid of it
00:22:22 because it was backfiring on all of them,
00:22:25 but they took it and they put it in the house
00:22:28 or in the city of Kier,
00:22:33 wait, let's say it, Kier Jeth Jerem.
00:22:37 Okay, I got it right there.
00:22:39 I ain't saying that again, okay.
00:22:41 These men, they had held the presence of God
00:22:48 and they had held the Ark of the Covenant for 20 years,
00:22:52 some say for 40 years.
00:22:54 And while the presence of God was missing
00:22:57 from the midst of the children of God,
00:23:00 they lamented about it.
00:23:02 They cried about it, but they never repented about it.
00:23:07 So you can cry all day long about what you miss,
00:23:13 but until you repent over how you handled
00:23:17 what you had when you had it.
00:23:19 See, the problem with the visible King Saul
00:23:26 is the same problem that we have in the church today.
00:23:30 Saul wanted the position and he wanted the power,
00:23:35 but it did not matter to him about the presence, okay.
00:23:38 So when people want the position and they want the power,
00:23:43 then they will do whatever it takes
00:23:45 to get the position and the power.
00:23:48 They will lie, they will steal, they will cheat,
00:23:50 they will get all out of order
00:23:53 because they just want what they want.
00:23:56 And it never bothered Saul
00:23:59 that there was no presence in Israel.
00:24:02 It never bothered Saul
00:24:05 that Israel had no Ark of the Covenant.
00:24:08 Here he is now, he's King,
00:24:10 and you would think that he would be smart enough to say,
00:24:13 how did they win all these other battles before I got here?
00:24:16 They won them because the Ark of the Lord was with them.
00:24:20 But now they don't have that, but he didn't care about that.
00:24:24 None of that seemed to bother him.
00:24:26 The only thing that he cared about
00:24:29 was the fact that he got to be King.
00:24:32 It didn't matter that there was no anointing on the choir.
00:24:35 It did not matter that there was no anointing
00:24:38 on the praisers.
00:24:39 It did not matter that the dancers had no anointing.
00:24:42 It did not matter that the preacher had no anointing.
00:24:46 It did not matter that the saints came to church,
00:24:49 but they didn't have any anointing on them.
00:24:51 It didn't matter to him that nobody was being saved.
00:24:55 It didn't matter to him that nobody was being delivered.
00:24:58 It did not matter to him that nobody was being healed.
00:25:02 All he wanted to do was sit in his big chair
00:25:05 and call the moves.
00:25:07 (congregation cheering)
00:25:11 He took so much pride in his position
00:25:15 that when Samuel came, the prophet Samuel came to him
00:25:18 and told him that he was getting ready to lose his position,
00:25:22 he went to ripping Samuel's clothes off of him.
00:25:26 He grabbed for Samuel's garments.
00:25:30 Now, I wish, nothing brought the fight out of him
00:25:34 like that did.
00:25:35 If he'd have fought that hard for the presence
00:25:38 as he was fighting for the position,
00:25:41 he would have never lost the position in the first place.
00:25:45 But because he would rather fight than switch,
00:25:48 God overthrew him, God rejected him,
00:25:52 and he went out and he found him a young man
00:25:55 by the name of David who was stinky, who was sweaty,
00:25:58 who was a shepherd boy, and he was out.
00:26:01 He didn't look the part, he didn't act the part.
00:26:04 None of those things did he have going for him,
00:26:06 but he was out in the field worshiping God.
00:26:10 God said, "Where's that boy at that worships me?
00:26:13 "Where's that boy that lays in his bed at night
00:26:16 "and sings songs to me?
00:26:18 "That's the one I want.
00:26:19 "He may be little, he may be scrawny,
00:26:21 "he may be stinky, he may be a dirty little mess,
00:26:25 "but there's something about his heart,
00:26:26 "and I love his heart, and I can train him.
00:26:31 "I can train him for the position
00:26:33 "because I know he already hungers for the presence."
00:26:38 And he chose David, and he chose David to replace Saul
00:26:43 because David cared nothing about the position,
00:26:47 but he cared everything about the presence.
00:26:50 He didn't even want to be king,
00:26:52 but because he wanted the presence so bad,
00:26:56 God said, "Boy, I'm getting ready to give you both.
00:26:58 "I'm gonna make you the king,
00:26:59 "and I'm gonna give you the presence,
00:27:02 "and you're gonna be the best thing to hit Israel,
00:27:05 "and God only knows how long."
00:27:07 And when we come to the point in our lives
00:27:10 where we will start crying out for the presence of God,
00:27:14 for the touch of his hand to be upon us,
00:27:17 for his shadow to overshadow us,
00:27:20 when we start crying out to God,
00:27:22 when we start falling on our face,
00:27:24 and we start talking about, "God, I just want you.
00:27:28 "Just give me Jesus.
00:27:30 "I don't care about titles.
00:27:32 "I don't care about positions.
00:27:35 "I don't care if anybody knows my name,
00:27:38 "as long as you know my name.
00:27:40 "God, I want your presence."
00:27:43 And when you start saying things like that,
00:27:46 watch what happens in your life.
00:27:49 When you start speaking stuff like that,
00:27:51 and it comes from your heart,
00:27:53 watch what God does in your,
00:27:56 hit somebody and tell him you better watch out.
00:27:58 Because just when you least expect it,
00:28:02 God will raise up somebody that nobody saw coming.
00:28:07 (congregation cheering)
00:28:10 Woo!
00:28:11 Can I tell you we are fastly approaching a moment
00:28:15 when God is getting ready to move and to shift things,
00:28:19 and he's getting ready to alter things in the kingdom.
00:28:22 He's getting ready to bring divine disruption
00:28:26 into our lives.
00:28:27 He's getting ready to bring down every high place,
00:28:32 and he's getting ready to exalt every low place.
00:28:36 If I were you, I wouldn't be trying to stay in between.
00:28:40 I'd get down as low as I could go
00:28:43 and tell God, "I need you, I want you,
00:28:47 "I can't take it without you.
00:28:49 "I'll make wrong decisions without you.
00:28:51 "I'll make wrong choices without you.
00:28:54 "I need you in my life."
00:28:56 Tell somebody around you,
00:28:57 things are getting ready to change,
00:28:59 they're getting ready to change.
00:29:01 You better not miss it.
00:29:02 You better not miss it.
00:29:05 Trying to make your name great, you better not miss it.
00:29:11 You better not miss it.
00:29:12 Keep loving him, keep praising him,
00:29:15 keep coming in, keep serving him.
00:29:18 Because unless the Lord builds the house,
00:29:24 the ministry, the man, the woman,
00:29:26 unless the Lord builds the family,
00:29:29 those that build it, build it in vain.
00:29:32 It did not seem to matter to Saul.
00:29:36 There was no ark.
00:29:38 It didn't matter to him that Ichabod
00:29:39 had been written all over them.
00:29:42 It didn't matter to him that the glory of God had departed.
00:29:45 But when David became the leader,
00:29:47 the first thing that David said was,
00:29:50 "Okay, I refuse to be king without God."
00:29:53 Ooh, I refuse to be king without God.
00:29:57 Every leader in your house,
00:29:59 every leader that has a house,
00:30:00 you need to say to yourself,
00:30:02 "I refuse to be the king in this house without God.
00:30:06 "I've got to have God."
00:30:09 David said, "If I'm gonna be king,
00:30:12 "I am not gonna do it without the anointing.
00:30:15 "I need the, where?
00:30:16 "I'm the king?
00:30:17 "Okay, great.
00:30:18 "Where's God?
00:30:19 "Where is the God of this kingdom?
00:30:21 "I need him.
00:30:21 "Don't show me my living quarters.
00:30:23 "Don't show me my palace.
00:30:25 "Don't show me my new shoes.
00:30:27 "Don't show me my new clothes.
00:30:28 "Don't show me my new donkey or my new car.
00:30:33 "Don't show me the new perks that go along with my job
00:30:37 "because all I really wanna see right now
00:30:39 "is I wanna see where God is.
00:30:41 "Where is he?
00:30:42 "Where is God?
00:30:44 "Where is the God of this house?
00:30:46 "Where is the God of this marriage?
00:30:48 "Where is the God of this church?
00:30:50 "Where is God?"
00:30:52 I am gonna pick my church by where I find God.
00:30:59 Look at somebody and tell 'em,
00:31:01 "That's how you find your church.
00:31:03 "You don't find it because it's got padded pews.
00:31:06 "You don't find it because it's got
00:31:08 "air-conditioned buildings.
00:31:10 "You don't find it because it's got good singers
00:31:13 "and good musicians.
00:31:14 "You don't even find it because of the notoriety
00:31:17 "of the preacher.
00:31:18 "You pick it by the presence."
00:31:21 Look at somebody and say, "You pick it by the presence."
00:31:24 I've had some of the most beautiful church
00:31:31 in some of the most ugly buildings.
00:31:34 But because the presence was there,
00:31:36 that's why it's our heart in this church
00:31:39 to be a people that are driven out after
00:31:42 the presence of God.
00:31:43 Look at somebody and tell 'em, "Let's go for it.
00:31:45 "Let's go.
00:31:46 "Let's go."
00:31:47 And that is exactly, precisely what David did.
00:31:54 David said, "Give me 30,000 men.
00:31:57 "I don't wanna know where I'm sleeping.
00:31:58 "I just wanna know right now
00:32:00 "where the 30,000 men are that are chosen."
00:32:02 (congregation shouting)
00:32:04 "Give me 30,000 men and we are going to go
00:32:09 "into and go after the anointing."
00:32:14 Look at your neighbor, tell him, "Let's go after it.
00:32:16 "Let's go after it."
00:32:17 (congregation laughing)
00:32:19 They told him that, "Now, sir, it's gonna be difficult.
00:32:23 "It's gonna be a long journey.
00:32:24 "It's gonna be a rough terrain.
00:32:26 "And once you get there, then we'll have to go
00:32:28 "into the house of Abinadab and we'll have to bring
00:32:31 "the ark out of the house of Abinadab."
00:32:33 David didn't care whose house he had to go into
00:32:36 because he was after the glory.
00:32:38 So when you're really after the glory,
00:32:40 you are like, "Well, wherever I have to go,
00:32:42 "whatever I have to do, it's gonna be worth it
00:32:44 "by the time I get there because I got to have the glory."
00:32:48 So David set out with his men
00:32:50 and they moved toward Kijath-ji-Aram,
00:32:54 the city of forests.
00:32:57 Now that's important.
00:32:59 It's a city of forests,
00:33:02 which means that there are a lot of trees there.
00:33:05 They set out toward the city of forests to rescue God.
00:33:10 God had been shut up in Abinadab's house
00:33:15 and he'd been sending messages to David,
00:33:18 "David, come get me out of this place.
00:33:20 "I wanna make sure you become king.
00:33:22 "And when you become king, I want you to come and find me.
00:33:25 "I can't live in a place where there's no vision.
00:33:28 "I can't live in the forest.
00:33:30 "I can't live in a place
00:33:32 "that I can't have a good perception.
00:33:34 "I am not gonna live in a place
00:33:36 "where there's no understanding,
00:33:38 "where there is no insight, where there is no revelation.
00:33:42 "So I need you to come and get me out."
00:33:45 And David and his chosen, somebody say chosen.
00:33:49 David and his chosen men came right up
00:33:52 into the house of Abinadab to get God's presence.
00:33:57 He did not come alone.
00:33:59 That's important for us to watch.
00:34:01 He did not come alone
00:34:02 and he did not just come with anybody, okay?
00:34:06 He made sure that he came with other men,
00:34:09 but he also came with men that were chosen
00:34:11 because the glory, it's not gonna go anywhere
00:34:15 with anybody that's not been chosen.
00:34:18 Y'all better hear me.
00:34:21 If there's no glory on it, you're not chosen.
00:34:25 If you're chosen, there is a glory on it.
00:34:28 And we are about to see that line very clear
00:34:31 in the body of Christ.
00:34:33 Look at somebody and say, "Look for the glory."
00:34:36 The glory is not going to go anywhere.
00:34:41 It's not going to rest on anybody
00:34:43 that has not been chosen by God.
00:34:46 So you've got to be chosen.
00:34:48 You've gotta be picked out.
00:34:50 You've got to be set apart.
00:34:52 You've gotta be set aside.
00:34:53 You've gotta be dedicated.
00:34:55 You've gotta be consecrated
00:34:57 because this is not about an election.
00:35:01 This is about a selection.
00:35:03 You following me?
00:35:06 You can't be elected.
00:35:08 You've gotta be selected.
00:35:10 And you won't get there just be,
00:35:12 I'm talking about the glory.
00:35:14 You won't get to be able to get to the glory
00:35:17 just because you're popular
00:35:19 or just because you sing great
00:35:21 or just because you have a good gift
00:35:23 or just because you've got a lot of followers
00:35:25 or you're the best singer.
00:35:27 You will not be able to get the glory
00:35:30 just because of those things.
00:35:32 That's your gift.
00:35:33 But I'm gonna tell you,
00:35:34 you need the glory to sit down on your gift.
00:35:38 If there's no glory, you're just a gift.
00:35:41 And gifts are a dime a dozen.
00:35:44 (congregation cheering)
00:35:47 Gifts alone do not destroy yokes.
00:35:50 It's the anointing that sits down on a gift
00:35:55 that destroy.
00:35:56 Musicians hear me today.
00:35:58 Singers hear me today.
00:36:00 Leaders hear me today.
00:36:02 Public speakers hear me today.
00:36:04 Doctors hear me today.
00:36:06 Nurses hear me today.
00:36:08 Teachers hear me today.
00:36:10 You can be the most talented there is,
00:36:14 but if you will just lay before God
00:36:17 and with all of your heart cry out for his glory
00:36:20 to rest on your gift,
00:36:23 that will be what destroys every yoke
00:36:26 that comes in your direction.
00:36:29 Tell somebody you gotta be chosen.
00:36:32 And if you're chosen,
00:36:35 you don't have to fight for what is yours
00:36:37 and you don't have to argue with people for what is yours.
00:36:40 Your position will remain your position.
00:36:44 Listen, if you're chosen,
00:36:46 you don't have to fight for your position
00:36:49 because you are his preference.
00:36:52 Why should I fight for something called a position
00:36:56 when I am his preference?
00:36:58 Look at somebody and tell him he prefers me.
00:37:01 - He prefers me.
00:37:02 (congregation cheering)
00:37:05 - Y'all hear me?
00:37:08 I am his preferred one.
00:37:11 You might be more gifted than me,
00:37:13 but you're not more preferred than me.
00:37:16 (congregation cheering)
00:37:17 You might be more talented than me,
00:37:20 but he still prefers me.
00:37:23 You might be more popular
00:37:25 and you might be more everything
00:37:27 than you might have more money than me.
00:37:29 You might have more education than me,
00:37:33 but it is me that he prefers.
00:37:36 (congregation cheering)
00:37:41 So you can hold my seat until I get it all together,
00:37:46 but the moment he gets me together,
00:37:48 you got to get out of my seat.
00:37:50 (congregation cheering)
00:37:53 You got to get out of my house.
00:37:55 Yes, Lord Jesus.
00:37:58 David gathered together 30,000 preferred men
00:38:08 and he chose Uzzah and Ahiel to be in charge
00:38:13 of driving the cart that they would use
00:38:16 to get God back to Zion.
00:38:19 So what did they do?
00:38:20 They picked God up and they sat him on this new thing
00:38:23 that's called a cart,
00:38:25 and they started moving him toward a place of his own.
00:38:30 Okay?
00:38:33 He had been in captivity,
00:38:34 but they started moving him toward a place of his own.
00:38:36 You know why?
00:38:37 Because God wants his own dwelling place.
00:38:40 He doesn't want to share you with anybody.
00:38:42 Hello?
00:38:45 He wants you all for himself.
00:38:47 He doesn't want to shack up with you on the weekends.
00:38:51 He wants you Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday,
00:38:53 Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
00:38:54 Hello?
00:38:55 He ain't looking for a roommate.
00:38:57 He wants everything or no thing.
00:39:01 Everything or no thing.
00:39:04 He is either Lord of all or he is not Lord at all.
00:39:08 Let me say it again.
00:39:11 He's either Lord of all in your life
00:39:13 or he is not Lord at all.
00:39:15 You cannot say that he is the Lord over your eternal life
00:39:20 and the Lord over your salvation
00:39:22 and not let him deal with your nasty attitude.
00:39:25 You can't say he's the Lord over your life
00:39:31 and then not let him start dealing with your temper
00:39:35 and your desires, your ungodly desires
00:39:39 and the crazy choices that you make.
00:39:41 He is either Lord of all or he's not Lord at all.
00:39:45 David was going after the presence of God.
00:39:50 And the one thing that I want you to know about this
00:39:54 is that David's motives were right.
00:39:58 His heart was right.
00:40:00 His method was a little messed up, okay?
00:40:05 But his heart was right.
00:40:07 He knew what he wanted to do.
00:40:10 He knew what he wanted the outcome to be,
00:40:14 but he just didn't know how to make it happen.
00:40:18 Have you ever wanted to do the right thing,
00:40:20 but you just didn't know exactly the right way
00:40:24 to go about it?
00:40:25 I mean, at least he was making an effort.
00:40:28 Saul never even made an effort to go after God.
00:40:32 But the Bible says they got God,
00:40:35 they put him on this cart.
00:40:37 They were taking him back to Zion
00:40:41 when they happened to stumble upon Nacon's,
00:40:46 N-A-C-O-N-S, Nacon's threshing floor.
00:40:51 Okay.
00:40:54 They came upon Nacon's threshing floor.
00:40:57 His threshing floor represents the place of shaking.
00:41:02 So they're going right along and they're doing good.
00:41:06 And then all of a sudden,
00:41:08 they didn't see it coming.
00:41:11 And I want to tell you something,
00:41:14 they weren't prepared for it,
00:41:15 but I want to help you be prepared today.
00:41:19 Because at some point, every man,
00:41:24 every woman that is under the sound of my voice today
00:41:29 will experience Nacon's threshing floor.
00:41:35 I've preached about the threshing floor.
00:41:38 So I know you know what I'm talking about,
00:41:42 but that don't mean you're prepared for it.
00:41:44 At some point in our life,
00:41:47 we have to face something that will cause everything in us
00:41:53 to be shaken to the core.
00:41:58 Sooner or later,
00:42:01 everything within you will be shaken,
00:42:06 that can be shaken.
00:42:09 Everything you know,
00:42:11 everything you thought you knew,
00:42:15 everything you believed,
00:42:16 everything you thought you believed,
00:42:19 everything you trusted in,
00:42:21 everything you hoped in,
00:42:23 everything you have anchored in,
00:42:26 at some point has got to be shaken.
00:42:30 Touch your neighbor and say,
00:42:31 you will pass Nacon's place.
00:42:36 Somewhere between where you are and where you're going,
00:42:43 somewhere between you and your great destiny,
00:42:47 there will be a threshing floor.
00:42:51 It was an uneven place.
00:42:53 And the threshing floor was where
00:42:58 everything began to go crazy.
00:43:01 The threshing floor is where your children flip out.
00:43:06 And you're like, what did you do with my daughter?
00:43:08 Did you eat her?
00:43:09 What did you do?
00:43:10 'Cause I don't know who you are.
00:43:14 The threshing floor is where the doctor says,
00:43:18 so sorry, but we've done all that we can do.
00:43:21 Can do.
00:43:21 The threshing floor is where your hope is deferred
00:43:25 and your heart is absolutely sick.
00:43:27 The threshing floor is where your life feels like
00:43:32 it's coming apart at the seams.
00:43:33 The threshing floor is when a secret comes out of your house
00:43:39 that you yourself never even knew was living amongst you.
00:43:44 Life happens and it happens to all of us.
00:43:50 And if you haven't been to Nacon's place,
00:43:53 just be prepared.
00:43:54 David failed to prepare for the threshing floor.
00:44:00 So one minute they got the ark,
00:44:03 they got the presents, they're rejoicing,
00:44:06 they're playing instruments.
00:44:08 We read about that today.
00:44:09 They're playing harps and timbrels and coronets and cymbals.
00:44:13 One minute they are having church and all is fine.
00:44:19 But because of an uneven place,
00:44:24 because of a pothole,
00:44:27 because of a pitfall on the road to purpose,
00:44:33 now everything is not fine anymore.
00:44:36 The threshing floor was the place
00:44:39 where the wheat was separated.
00:44:41 You know this from the tares.
00:44:42 It was the place where the chaff
00:44:44 was separated from the wheat.
00:44:47 You see, there is a difference between the tares
00:44:49 and the chaff.
00:44:50 Tares are not real grain.
00:44:53 Tares are false grain that cling to the wheat.
00:44:58 Tares are like the people in your life
00:45:02 that cling to you,
00:45:05 that you didn't invite to cling to you.
00:45:09 Tares are leeches.
00:45:12 And leeches cling to the real thing.
00:45:17 And it begins to suck the life out of the real thing.
00:45:22 Have you ever finally woke up and realized,
00:45:24 hey ho, it's time for her to go?
00:45:27 She is sucking everything out of,
00:45:33 y'all can't say it 'cause you ended up marrying her.
00:45:36 And now you in church.
00:45:37 Lord help them, Jesus.
00:45:42 Tares are fake.
00:45:44 And tares are fake.
00:45:48 And it is at the threshing floor
00:45:51 that everything fake begins to break loose in you.
00:45:56 Everything not real.
00:45:58 Everything that's fake.
00:46:00 Everything that's deceptive about you.
00:46:03 Everything that's shady.
00:46:05 Everything that is hypocritical.
00:46:08 Everything that has attached itself to you
00:46:11 that is not supposed to be attached to you.
00:46:15 When you hit the threshing floor,
00:46:17 it has got to go.
00:46:20 And if you haven't had sense enough
00:46:22 to put it out before you hit the threshing floor,
00:46:26 the threshing floor will put it out for you.
00:46:29 Because the threshing floor demands
00:46:32 that the wheat be separated from the chaff.
00:46:36 And when you're going through it,
00:46:41 you ain't got time to be fake.
00:46:43 You ain't got time to be phony.
00:46:46 You ain't got time to be foolish.
00:46:48 You ain't got time to be crazy.
00:46:50 Nacons threshing floor is where you face your flesh.
00:46:55 Not the flesh that I try to show you.
00:47:02 But Nacons threshing floor is where I face my own flesh.
00:47:09 Nacons threshing floor, don't try to say all that.
00:47:12 Nacons threshing floor is where you have to deal
00:47:16 with your own dirt.
00:47:17 It's where you recognize your own rage that's going on.
00:47:21 It's where you say, I got to clean up this carnality
00:47:25 because it's about to snuff me out.
00:47:27 Yes, Nacons threshing floor will make you pray
00:47:31 like you have never prayed.
00:47:33 It'll make you fast.
00:47:35 It'll make you get things right.
00:47:37 It'll make you go into consecration.
00:47:40 It'll make you hang up the phone.
00:47:42 It'll make you turn off social media.
00:47:45 It'll make you get up and walk the floors
00:47:47 in the middle of that.
00:47:49 Nacons threshing floor will make you be careful
00:47:53 what movies that you watch and what music
00:47:56 that you listen to and what conversations
00:48:00 that you allow yourself to be in.
00:48:02 The threshing floor is the place where you are shaken
00:48:07 to the core and some of you have experienced it
00:48:11 and having done all to stand, you are just standing.
00:48:16 You're standing and you're saying, if it wasn't for God,
00:48:23 I would have had a nervous breakdown.
00:48:27 If it wasn't for God, I would have lost my mind.
00:48:31 If it wasn't for God, I would have lost everything.
00:48:36 But because he prayed for you, that your faith would,
00:48:41 because he prayed for you, your faith didn't fail.
00:48:49 Because he prayed, it might have fluctuated,
00:48:51 but it didn't fail.
00:48:53 Because he prayed for you, you didn't stagger
00:48:56 at the promises of God.
00:48:58 Because he prayed for you, you stood fast
00:49:02 and you are alive and I am alive
00:49:05 and we live by the faith of the son of God.
00:49:10 It's not even our faith that has us living.
00:49:13 It is the faith of the son of God.
00:49:17 It is his faith.
00:49:19 Our faith would have crashed and burned.
00:49:21 Our faith would have quit.
00:49:22 Our faith would have failed.
00:49:24 But because of his faith and his faithfulness,
00:49:28 you and I are still standing.
00:49:31 Your marriage may have shook.
00:49:34 Your money might have shook.
00:49:36 Your children might have shook.
00:49:38 Your businesses and career might have shook.
00:49:42 Your confidence might have shook.
00:49:44 Your influence and integrity, that might have shook too.
00:49:48 But because on Christ, the solid rock I stand,
00:49:53 (congregation cheering)
00:49:57 I dare you to hit two people
00:50:00 and tell them I'm still standing.
00:50:03 Standing on the rock.
00:50:05 Stand firm and stand still.
00:50:10 Be still and know that I am God.
00:50:16 They might be falling all around you, but be still.
00:50:22 A thousand may fall at the side, but you,
00:50:29 10,000 at the right hand, but you be still.
00:50:34 When you wanna run, when you wanna scorn,
00:50:38 when you wanna hide, look at somebody and say, be still.
00:50:42 Let people talk, but be still.
00:50:47 Let 'em judge you, you be still.
00:50:50 Let 'em drag your name through the mud, but be still.
00:50:54 Let 'em assassinate your character, but be still.
00:50:59 Let 'em spread rumors, but be still.
00:51:03 Look at your neighbor, say, don't move.
00:51:05 Look at somebody else and say, I'm gonna stand.
00:51:10 I don't care who else stands, I'm gonna stand.
00:51:16 I don't care what's shaking, I'm gonna stand.
00:51:19 I don't care what's rocking, I'm gonna stand.
00:51:23 I don't care what's threatening, I'm gonna stand.
00:51:27 I don't know who my friends are, but I'm gonna stand.
00:51:30 I don't know who's for me,
00:51:32 and I don't really know who's against me,
00:51:35 but I'm gonna stand.
00:51:37 I don't know who's really got me and who don't got me,
00:51:41 but I am going to
00:51:43 still stand,
00:51:50 but by the grace
00:51:53 (audience cheering)
00:51:56 of God.
00:51:58 Sit down, guys, it's too early to be here.
00:52:10 Still standing.
00:52:14 So you might wanna write this right here.
00:52:18 This is important.
00:52:20 David made the mistake.
00:52:23 Listen, if you're a leader, if you're a supervisor,
00:52:28 if you have a downline or whoever, if you have children,
00:52:31 if you are a husband that has a wife,
00:52:34 if you're a wife that has children,
00:52:36 don't make David's mistake.
00:52:41 David made the mistake of assigning the wrong men
00:52:46 to the wrong task.
00:52:49 (audience cheering)
00:52:52 His heart was right, his motives were right,
00:52:55 but he assigned the wrong men to the wrong task.
00:52:58 Uzzah and Ahio were good men.
00:53:03 They were dependable.
00:53:04 They were trustworthy.
00:53:07 They were loyal.
00:53:09 They were faithful,
00:53:11 but they were not anointed for this job.
00:53:13 Only a Levite
00:53:19 that was carrying staves
00:53:21 was allowed to touch the ark.
00:53:27 To touch it any other way was a capital offense
00:53:32 according to Jewish law.
00:53:34 When you are working for God,
00:53:39 you have got to know what you can and cannot.
00:53:45 And cannot touch what you have
00:53:50 and have not been anointed to fix.
00:53:57 And though Uzzah was a sincere man,
00:54:01 he had to face the consequences
00:54:04 of touching what he should not have touched.
00:54:09 Look at your neighbor, say neighbor.
00:54:11 Some things have got to be turned over to God.
00:54:14 Some things, you just got to put it in the hands of God.
00:54:25 I know you think you know how to fix it.
00:54:28 And I know you think God has called you
00:54:30 to tidy up everybody's life that's in your life.
00:54:33 Ah, y'all ain't gonna help me today, but it's true.
00:54:38 Some things you just got to give it to God.
00:54:41 You just got to say, God, I'm putting my career
00:54:45 in your hands.
00:54:47 I know everybody else is trying to forge their own path.
00:54:51 And that makes me feel like that's what I got to do too.
00:54:54 But I know also that you are God
00:54:56 and that you have a plan for my life.
00:54:58 So if this isn't working out,
00:55:00 I just put it all in your hands.
00:55:02 I put my passions in your hands.
00:55:05 I put my lying husband in your hands.
00:55:08 I put my cheating wife in your hands.
00:55:11 I would put my rebellious kids in your,
00:55:14 I put my compulsions, I put my uncontrollable,
00:55:18 obsessive, addictive behavior into your hands.
00:55:23 I can't fix it.
00:55:26 I can't stabilize it.
00:55:28 I can't hold it together.
00:55:30 So I'm giving it all to you.
00:55:35 And I want to tell you, no matter how much it shakes,
00:55:38 you better resist the urge
00:55:41 to reach out and stabilize
00:55:47 something that God himself is shaking.
00:55:51 (congregation cheering)
00:55:54 Tell your neighbor, if it's shaking,
00:55:58 he wants it shook.
00:56:01 Tell somebody else, if it's shaking,
00:56:04 he wants it shook.
00:56:07 So we gotta stop trying to be Mr. and Ms. Fix-It.
00:56:10 I said, we gotta stop at some point
00:56:14 trying to be Mr. and Ms. Fix-It.
00:56:16 Some things in our life is a job for God.
00:56:21 And when Uzzah reached out just to stabilize the ark
00:56:26 because it had hit an uneven place,
00:56:29 he didn't want it to fall to the ground.
00:56:32 He reached out his hand and he touched the ark
00:56:35 and God struck him dead.
00:56:38 Look at somebody and say,
00:56:39 get your hands out of God's business.
00:56:42 You are all in God's space.
00:56:49 Some of your blessings are on delay
00:56:52 because you are in your own way.
00:56:55 Tell somebody, get out of God's way.
00:56:58 Get out.
00:56:58 Get out of his way.
00:57:00 He will bless your life.
00:57:02 Another thing David did was he tried to bring,
00:57:10 and you've heard us talk about this.
00:57:12 He tried to bring the presence of God back on a new cart.
00:57:18 But God didn't want anything new.
00:57:21 He didn't want your new stuff.
00:57:23 He didn't want your cute cart.
00:57:25 He said, I never told you to change this order.
00:57:28 Did I tell any of y'all to modify my instructions?
00:57:34 Don't be taking it on yourself to modify my instructions.
00:57:41 When did I tell you to deviate from the plan
00:57:45 and from the way that I told you that it was to be done?
00:57:49 I didn't ask any of you.
00:57:53 I didn't ask you to put some untried, unseasoned,
00:57:58 unused, unfamiliar plan in place of my plan.
00:58:03 He don't want your new little program.
00:58:07 He don't want your new little idea
00:58:10 that you got when you were asleep last night.
00:58:13 God is gonna do it his way or he's gonna do it no way.
00:58:18 You don't need a new cart.
00:58:21 You need a visitation from God.
00:58:24 You don't need a new cart.
00:58:25 You need a move of his presence.
00:58:27 You don't need a new cart.
00:58:29 You need to hear his voice.
00:58:31 You don't need a new cart.
00:58:32 You need a fresh anointing and an ear to hear
00:58:36 because he doesn't wanna ride on your new cart.
00:58:43 He has always wanted to ride on the shoulders
00:58:51 of worshipers.
00:58:52 That way, there will be nothing between you and him.
00:59:00 Nothing.
00:59:05 He didn't want a cart.
00:59:07 He wanted contact with his people.
00:59:11 He didn't want a cart.
00:59:15 He wanted a connection with his people.
00:59:18 He wanted to ride in on the shoulders of people
00:59:21 that knew how to praise him.
00:59:24 Look at somebody and say, "Neighbor,
00:59:27 "you'll get the devil off your back
00:59:29 "if you'll put God on your shoulders."
00:59:32 (congregation cheering)
00:59:35 You'll get him off your back
00:59:38 if you'll put God on your shoulders.
00:59:40 God wants to ride on your shoulders.
00:59:45 And if you start praising him,
00:59:46 how many of you know he'll ride with you?
00:59:49 You will not be riding alone.
00:59:51 God will be riding on your,
00:59:53 God said, "I don't want to embrace you through a program.
00:59:58 "I don't wanna embrace you through a chicken dinner.
01:00:02 "I don't wanna embrace you through a praise team.
01:00:04 "I don't wanna embrace you through a worship team.
01:00:07 "I don't wanna embrace you through a preacher.
01:00:10 "That's why I sent my only begotten son
01:00:13 "so that I could be with you for myself."
01:00:17 You've got to say, "I will let nothing."
01:00:20 (congregation cheering)
01:00:24 I want his spirit, I want his power,
01:00:27 and I want his anointing.
01:00:29 I don't care who's singing.
01:00:30 I don't care who's preaching.
01:00:32 I don't care who's sitting anywhere.
01:00:35 I don't care about the parking lot.
01:00:37 I don't care if we got children's church or not.
01:00:40 I got to have his spirit.
01:00:42 (congregation cheering)
01:00:45 David allowed the man that was with him
01:00:53 to put his hands into God's business.
01:00:57 And whatever you do,
01:00:59 don't put your hands in God's business.
01:01:04 I don't care if it looks like all hell is breaking loose.
01:01:08 If he hasn't told you to touch it, don't touch it.
01:01:11 You might think you know how to fix it,
01:01:14 but if he didn't tell you to fix it,
01:01:16 you might feel like, "You know how?
01:01:20 "Oh, I can resist this.
01:01:21 "I don't have to react to this."
01:01:24 But watch out, 'cause your flesh will have you reaching.
01:01:27 What is that?
01:01:30 It's just an instinct.
01:01:30 It'll have you instinctively reaching to fix things
01:01:37 that you can't fix.
01:01:39 And the Bible says that when Uzzah touched the ark,
01:01:42 God got angry and Uzzah lost his life.
01:01:47 Who in the world do you think you are
01:01:51 trying to stabilize what I am shaking?
01:01:54 Who are you trying to rescue, God?
01:01:57 Who are you trying to secure, God?
01:02:00 Who are you trying to deliver, God, from his difficulty?
01:02:07 Who are you?
01:02:09 He don't need you to try to stabilize what he's shaking.
01:02:15 If he started it,
01:02:17 he will finish it,
01:02:21 because he's not only alpha,
01:02:24 the beginning,
01:02:27 he is omega.
01:02:29 He is the end.
01:02:33 And all you need to tell the devil is this battle
01:02:37 is not mine.
01:02:38 This battle is the Lord's.
01:02:42 And I don't care how much shaking is going on.
01:02:45 I am not getting my hands into God's business.
01:02:50 My money might be shaking, my marriage might be shaking,
01:02:54 my career is shaking, my health is shaking,
01:02:57 and my church might be shaking.
01:03:00 Look at somebody and tell them
01:03:01 there's a whole lot of shaking going on.
01:03:04 But honey, it can shake and it can rattle and it can roll,
01:03:09 but I am not touching it unless God says, now.
01:03:14 Because the day he touched it, he died.
01:03:22 Whenever God gets ready to bless you,
01:03:25 y'all, I hope you're hearing me.
01:03:30 The day he touched it, he died.
01:03:35 And when God gets ready to bless you,
01:03:39 most of the time, something has gotta die.
01:03:44 Look at somebody and tell them, let it die, let it die.
01:03:50 Quit trying to resuscitate it.
01:03:54 You ain't got no resuscitation orders.
01:03:56 Let it die.
01:03:59 Get it off of the life support and let it die.
01:04:02 Say farewell, have a funeral, and let it die.
01:04:07 Buy a grave and bury it and let it die.
01:04:12 That friendship, it's time for it to die.
01:04:15 That relationship, it's time for it to die.
01:04:18 That situation, that lie, it's time for it to die.
01:04:23 The promise that keeps breaking your heart,
01:04:26 it is time for you to let it die.
01:04:30 (congregation cheering)
01:04:33 And when it died, David freaked totally out.
01:04:38 David got mad at God.
01:04:42 I mean, at least I tried.
01:04:52 Can the record show that the whole time Saul was here,
01:04:57 he didn't even try.
01:05:00 At least I tried.
01:05:05 Come on, guys.
01:05:06 Just leave it where it landed.
01:05:08 Come on, just leave it.
01:05:11 I don't wanna lose another one of y'all.
01:05:13 Now y'all know that it landed
01:05:22 in the front yard of a man by the name of Obed Edom.
01:05:25 He was a porter, he was a servant in the house of the Lord.
01:05:29 It landed in his front yard.
01:05:32 He woke up that morning, it was like,
01:05:35 it was opening the blinds.
01:05:36 Babe, there's something really bright out in our front yard.
01:05:50 I'm telling you, it's different.
01:05:52 I don't know how it even got here,
01:05:54 but it was the ark of the covenant.
01:05:58 And I've told you so many times
01:06:01 that for the next three months,
01:06:05 look at somebody and say, "For the next 90 days."
01:06:09 - For the next 90 days.
01:06:11 - Woo!
01:06:12 God is getting ready to bless your life.
01:06:16 (congregation cheering)
01:06:20 And it wasn't even about you.
01:06:22 God was working it all behind the scenes.
01:06:26 And Obed Edom woke up,
01:06:30 and God was in his front yard.
01:06:33 When you are a servant in the house of God,
01:06:37 you may not even realize, but today could be your day.
01:06:42 I mean, Obed Edom and Miss Obed Edom,
01:06:49 everything they had ever dreamed about, wanted,
01:06:53 they wanted a new roof, they got it.
01:06:55 They wanted a new donkey, they got it.
01:06:58 Whatever they set their hands to do, God blessed it.
01:07:03 How many of you would like to live under that provision?
01:07:06 And while David is over here pouting in his house,
01:07:16 in his house,
01:07:17 God is over here blessing at Obed Edom's house.
01:07:25 Look at somebody and say, "Are you pouting
01:07:30 or are you receiving a blessing?"
01:07:34 People kept running back to David.
01:07:39 David, you're not gonna believe what God,
01:07:41 Miss Obed Edom done lost 50 pounds.
01:07:44 He is one happy man.
01:07:47 I'll be back, I just gotta go see what's going on.
01:07:51 There's something new every morning.
01:07:52 Something new happening over here.
01:07:54 And they run back and tell David,
01:07:56 but David's not an idiot.
01:07:58 He knows when the blessing of the Lord is on something.
01:08:01 So David finally said, "Let me go over there
01:08:04 and let me check that out myself."
01:08:07 So here goes David.
01:08:11 He's going up the steps, gets on the porch,
01:08:16 and he looks through the blinds.
01:08:18 And some historians tell you
01:08:23 that Obed Edom was a black man.
01:08:26 I don't care if he was black or white or red,
01:08:29 it does not matter.
01:08:30 One thing I know about him is he was a happy man
01:08:33 because for three months,
01:08:35 God blessed everything he put his hands to.
01:08:40 I need some shouting music.
01:08:42 Can you just give me some shouting music?
01:08:44 I need a shouter.
01:08:48 Who can I get?
01:08:49 Come on.
01:08:51 I need you to just shout up here.
01:08:56 That's Obed Edom.
01:09:03 And I'm David.
01:09:06 And I walk up his stairs.
01:09:11 (upbeat music)
01:09:13 And I look in the window
01:09:15 and I say, "What the world has he got so much to shout about?"
01:09:20 Tell your neighbor, "God's at his house."
01:09:27 And when David watched on the inside,
01:09:37 when he saw what was going on in the house,
01:09:41 something happened to David outside the house.
01:09:45 David was a white man.
01:09:49 Somebody's bucking somebody else.
01:09:55 Now let heaven meet and take.
01:10:07 One was bucking, one was skipping,
01:10:09 but both were praising God.
01:10:14 And I may not praise him like you do.
01:10:18 And you may not praise him like I do.
01:10:21 But this ain't about a black thing or a white thing.
01:10:26 It's about a new thing.
01:10:28 For behold, I will do a,
01:10:35 and I will pour out my spirit upon.
01:10:38 I dare you to give him some kind of praise.
01:10:48 Right where you are.
01:10:49 Woo!
01:11:04 (upbeat music)
01:11:06 Woo!
01:11:23 Tell your neighbor, "You live like only you can."
01:11:32 (upbeat music)
01:11:35 Woo!
01:11:39 All right.
01:11:54 Okay, listen to me real quick.
01:12:00 Don't move, don't sit down 'cause I'm done.
01:12:04 But when God moved in a way that confused David,
01:12:08 he went off and left him.
01:12:12 But he started realizing,
01:12:16 at some point, I have got to take responsibility
01:12:21 for my own spiritual conduct.
01:12:25 And he told Mr. Obed-Edom,
01:12:30 he said, "I've come back to pick up where I left off
01:12:34 "because I inquired of the Lord.
01:12:39 "I've come back to straighten out what I messed up.
01:12:43 "I've got to get God back to his rightful place."
01:12:49 I know you've had a ball with him being in your house,
01:12:55 but right now, he's got to get into his kingdom.
01:13:01 He's got to get in my life.
01:13:03 He's got to get in my house.
01:13:05 He's got to get in my plans.
01:13:08 And I'm doing it right this time.
01:13:12 This time,
01:13:22 I've got the stage and I've got the priest,
01:13:29 and I've got the right people that know how to praise God.
01:13:33 So this time, we're gonna put the ark on our shoulders.
01:13:39 Can I tell you, church,
01:13:46 there is a weight of responsibility
01:13:49 that we as the people of God have got to feel.
01:13:55 And if the glory is gonna show up,
01:13:58 you have got to carry it in the room on your shoulders.
01:14:03 And you've got to balance the weight.
01:14:07 Don't wait for the praise team to do it.
01:14:10 Don't wait for them to do it.
01:14:13 Put your neighbor, and say, "Neighbor, carry your weight."
01:14:18 Carry your weight.
01:14:19 (upbeat music)
01:14:22 Davidson, tell him goodbye, Mr. Obed-Edom,
01:14:39 'cause we're taking him to Zion,
01:14:43 because that's where he belongs.
01:14:46 We're gonna do it right this time.
01:14:48 Tell somebody, do it right this time.
01:14:51 And David got the men, and they carried the ark
01:14:56 with the stage on their shoulders.
01:15:01 He said, "Fine, I gotta get back on the road to praise.
01:15:06 "I've been pouting long enough.
01:15:11 "I've been crying long enough,
01:15:13 "but now I'm back on the road to praise."
01:15:16 David got back on the road to praise.
01:15:29 And because he knew that praise appeased God,
01:15:34 he put that ark of the covenant on their shoulders.
01:15:40 He put it on there and lifted him high.
01:15:44 And they began to walk.
01:15:46 One, two, three, four, five, six.
01:15:51 Every seventh,
01:15:55 every seventh step, they paused and came down to praise.
01:16:09 One, two, three, four, five, six.
01:16:12 David was like, it may be messy and it may be bloody,
01:16:23 but we're getting back to where he belongs.
01:16:29 We're getting our anointing back.
01:16:34 We're getting the glory back.
01:16:37 We're getting our purpose back.
01:16:40 We're getting our power back.
01:16:42 I don't know what you need back,
01:16:50 but if I were you, I would move six times
01:16:54 right where I am.
01:16:59 And on the seventh, give him the best praise that you have,
01:17:06 'cause you're only seven steps away from a miracle.
01:17:11 Six, five, four, three, two, one.
01:17:33 (upbeat music)
01:17:36 You better get to stepping.
01:17:51 You better get to stepping.
01:17:55 (upbeat music)
01:17:57 (upbeat music)
01:18:00 (upbeat music)
01:18:03 (upbeat music)
01:18:13 (upbeat music)
01:18:23 (upbeat music)
01:18:26 (upbeat music)
01:18:51 (crowd cheering)
01:18:54 David was just so happy to get God back.
01:18:57 The closer he got, the crazier he went.
01:19:09 And by the time he got back to Zion,
01:19:15 he had nearly stripped all of his clothes off.
01:19:21 (crowd cheering)
01:19:24 And his wife, her name was Michele.
01:19:28 She was watching him from her palace window.
01:19:35 David, you should be ashamed of yourself.
01:19:39 Wrap yourself up.
01:19:43 Public worship is not important in this kingdom.
01:19:49 But right now, you're making a fool out of yourself.
01:19:53 David said, "Girl, this ain't about me.
01:19:59 "This is about the God of this kingdom."
01:20:11 Of course, you probably wouldn't know
01:20:13 that there was a God in this kingdom
01:20:14 because you think your daddy saw was God.
01:20:19 Now look at me, I'm your husband.
01:20:20 I'm getting ready to show you who God really is.
01:20:25 Your daddy did it his way and it didn't work.
01:20:28 But I got him back here, didn't I?
01:20:31 So forget the cards, forget the robes,
01:20:35 forget all of those things, the positions, the titles,
01:20:39 because unlike your daddy, I need him.
01:20:43 So if I gotta clap, I will clap.
01:20:49 If I gotta run, I will run.
01:20:52 If I gotta holler, I will holler.
01:20:54 Because unlike your daddy,
01:20:58 I can't run this kingdom without God.
01:21:02 I can't lead without him.
01:21:08 I can't make decisions without him.
01:21:10 I can't settle for a title and not have any presence.
01:21:14 I can't look the part and not have the presence.
01:21:17 Call me a fool if you want to.
01:21:21 If you mess with me much more,
01:21:22 I'll get even more undignified than this.
01:21:26 Because he's back where he belongs.
01:21:30 And if God before us,
01:21:31 I said if God before us,
01:21:37 he is more than the world.
01:21:40 He's more than you and your daddy against me.
01:21:46 - Amen.
01:21:47 - I'm done, but let me tell you real quick.
01:21:51 Mykael had just made the worst mistake of her life
01:21:56 because she spoke out against, number one, God's man.
01:22:00 Number two, she spoke out against a pure worshiper.
01:22:06 She also spoke out against something that God enjoyed.
01:22:14 Something God got the glory out of.
01:22:18 They loved to watch David worship.
01:22:21 And because she put her mouth on something,
01:22:26 she didn't have no business putting her mouth on.
01:22:32 God cursed her womb.
01:22:34 And she never carried a baby in her entire life.
01:22:43 Sometimes the reason that so many people's wombs,
01:22:47 whether it's, could be a spiritual womb,
01:22:50 could be the reason your business womb
01:22:54 can't seem to produce.
01:22:59 Y'all follow me?
01:23:02 The reason your womb has shut up
01:23:04 is because your mouth wouldn't shut up.
01:23:09 (congregation murmurs)
01:23:12 (gentle music)
01:23:14 You better check yourself before you say it.
01:23:17 'Cause once you say it, it's gonna cost you something.
01:23:22 David learned that lesson at the threshing floor.
01:23:25 It should have told her.
01:23:27 Baby, even if you don't understand it,
01:23:31 please don't talk about it.
01:23:34 Because if God is in it, Mykael,
01:23:37 and you talk about it,
01:23:41 you're just surely tired.
01:23:43 (gentle music)
01:23:47 (upbeat music)
01:23:50 (music fades)
01:23:52 [BLANK_AUDIO]
