00:00 Ole Miss players win SEC Player of the Week. Hello, my name is Skylar Girard of
00:04 Fanation, the Grove Report, and here's your latest football news. Now the Ole
00:08 Miss Rebels defensive lineman Cedric Johnson and linebacker Suntrain Perkins
00:12 received SEC Player of the Week distinctions on Monday. The number 12
00:16 Rebels are on a game-win streak following their 28-21 win versus Auburn
00:20 and the defense is a big part of it. The Rebels allowed 275 yards of total
00:25 offense on Saturday and limited Auburn's passing attack to just 122 yards between
00:30 quarterbacks Robbie Ashford and Peyton Throne. The SEC took notice of Ole Miss's
00:34 dominant defense efforts and rewarded two players efforts versus Tigers on
00:39 Monday. Ole Miss defensive lineman Cedric Johnson was named the SEC defensive
00:44 lineman of the week after recording five tackles and leading the team with two
00:48 sacks. The senior now has notched 15 career sacks and remained the Rebels
00:53 all-time leader in that category. And linebacker Suntrain Perkins received his
00:58 first conference award as co-SEC Freshman of the Week after registering
01:02 five tackles and one TFL. Perkins currently leads SEC freshmen and is
01:08 ranked fifth nationally in sacks among freshmen. Johnson, who received the
01:13 Chucky Mullens Courage Award in August, is making his final season in Rebel
01:18 uniform a memorable one and is ready to step it up to the next level. I guess
01:23 we'll have to see how Perkins and Cedric Johnson do the rest of the football
01:27 season.
