00:00 UCLA dropped this insane graphic recently showcasing just how many NBA players they
00:04 have that were former Bruins and I think it's only right that I share my top 3 that I am
00:07 looking forward to watching this season.
00:09 Real quick make sure to read all of my work over at All Bruin Sports Illustrated and follow
00:13 this account if you haven't already.
00:15 Number 1 has got to be Peyton Watson.
00:16 I have gone on record numerous times saying that I don't think he was given the leash
00:20 to showcase his full skillset back in college but now that he is with the Denver Nuggets
00:23 coming off of his rookie season he is going to get all the opportunity in the world to
00:27 get minutes seeing that Bruce Brown went to the Indiana Pacers.
00:30 Watson did excellent in the G League last season playing about 17 games and averaging
00:33 22 points and his athleticism and defensive dominance are going to allow him to help the
00:38 Nuggets chase their second straight franchise championship.
00:41 At number 2 is Johnny Drew Zhang who was on a two way contract with the Utah Jazz and
00:45 I really just think that he has a major chip on his shoulder after going undrafted in his
00:48 rookie year.
00:49 Similar to Watson he spent most of his time in the G League last season but seeing that
00:53 the Utah Jazz is a really young team searching for identity right now and having guys like
00:57 Colin Sexton and Jordan Clarkson at the guard position they could use someone like Johnny
01:00 Drew Zhang who could really score from any level and who shot 50% from 3 during the summer
01:05 league.
01:06 He still needs to figure out how to contribute in other areas such as on defense and playmaking
01:09 but he has raw talent and he knows how to get the ball in the bucket.
01:12 And finally you guessed it number 3 is none other than Mr. Jaime Jaquez Jr. who was on
01:16 the Miami Heat and was able to withstand away from the Damian Lillard trade rumors.
01:20 He's going to remain with the same team that drafted him in the first round this year.
01:24 He is already projected to be a part of the guard rotation after he lost some key contributors
01:28 in Gabe Vincent and Max Struess.
01:29 Jaime Jaquez has really good size, really good footwork and all UCLA Bruins knows what
01:33 he can do when game comes down to the clutch time.
01:35 I think that he could really jump in the driver's seat right away if he's able to get some minutes
01:39 if Eric Spolster and the rest of the coach staff come to trust him.
