00:00 Hello, it's been a very unsettled couple of days and it doesn't look like much is changing
00:04 as we head through the rest of this week.
00:06 Low pressure very much in charge of our weather at the moment out towards the east of the
00:10 UK.
00:11 A brief interlude through Wednesday brings something a little more settled.
00:14 However, low pressure out to the west brings something further wet and windy and unsettled
00:18 as we head through the second half of the week and towards next weekend.
00:22 Back to the here and now though and it's been a very damp start, particularly along the
00:25 south coast of the UK, some heavy rain that will slowly push its way south and eastwards
00:30 as we head through Wednesday morning.
00:32 Elsewhere, plenty of sunny spells to start the morning.
00:35 Across Wales, central England there should be some sunshine through the morning and into
00:37 the afternoon.
00:38 Further north though, parts of northern England and into parts of Scotland seeing some persistent
00:42 rain through this afternoon.
00:44 Not quite as heavy as we saw over recent days but any further rain not very welcome in these
00:48 areas that have seen those impacts.
00:52 Temperatures on Wednesday are round about average for the time of year.
00:54 13, 14, maybe 15 across the south of the UK and further north around 11 or 12 degrees.
01:01 As we head through Wednesday evening, that rain across Scotland continues to push in
01:05 from the east overnight, although wet will gradually start to ease as we head into the
01:09 early hours of Thursday morning.
01:10 Elsewhere, plenty of clear skies around to start, however, turning increasingly cloudy
01:14 as a band of rain pushes up from the southwest overnight into Thursday morning.
01:19 Turning drier behind this front but quickly turning showery as well with some of those
01:23 showers perhaps turning quite heavy at times through Thursday morning.
01:27 Quite a mild night as well, particularly across the south of the UK under all that cloud and
01:30 rain.
01:31 Temperatures here holding up into the double figures but under the clear skies further
01:34 north we could be dropping down into the low single figures in some rural spots and possibly
01:38 a touch of frost across the very far west of Scotland as well.
01:42 So for many on Thursday it will be a very grey and damp start to the day.
01:46 That band of rain across the central part of the UK slowly pushes its way towards the
01:49 north and east through the day, turning drier and brighter behind but those showers quickly
01:53 pushing in from the southwest through Thursday afternoon.
01:56 They could turn quite heavy at times, particularly along that south coast, the odd rumble of
02:00 thunder possible across the southeast through Thursday afternoon.
02:03 Further rain as well expected across eastern parts of Scotland and again this could be
02:07 a bit heavier than we're likely to see through today, so further impacts possible after all
02:11 the rain they've seen over the past few days.
02:14 Temperatures likely to be similar to today on Thursday, highs of 14 or 15 degrees across
02:18 the south and around 11 to 13 degrees across northern parts which is around about average
02:22 for the time of year.
02:25 As we head through the rest of the week those unsettled conditions do continue but you can
02:28 keep up to date with that forecast via our website and don't forget to follow us on social
02:32 media.
