00:00 One of the great things about professional sports is that there's almost always at least one season taking place.
00:08 Sometimes though you may find that there's a lull in your actual sports watching habits,
00:13 either because every league is on a break or because you simply enjoy certain sports more than others.
00:19 If you're someone who's trying to fill an open sports watching spot in your calendar,
00:24 we suggest delving into sports docuseries that go behind the scenes and tell untold stories about some of the biggest personalities and clubs in the world.
00:35 Listen, I love sports documentaries. We, everyone at Full World does as well.
00:40 That's sort of what this company has been known for for a long time now.
00:45 There are some amazing ones out there. You know, we always used to watch Last Chance U and loads of the American ones,
00:50 all the American football ones. They sort of set the bar really for us.
00:54 I love all of them as long as they're authentic and they get behind the scenes.
00:59 And, you know, there's a level of sort of TV magic that goes on in every show.
01:04 But I think the less you can have that involved and the more authentic and real and, you know, you can get there.
01:11 And like you say, it's all about human stories. It always is.
01:16 We've seen a remarkable increase in the quality of behind the scenes docuseries.
01:21 This mainly being down to the access that cameras are now given to capture the real life stories of the characters that fans may only see on the pitches once a week.
01:31 Mud, Sweat and Tears is a new premiership rugby docuseries.
01:35 And there was no struggle dealing with the stars behind the scenes.
01:39 We've been into football clubs, organisations, athletics, all sorts of different things.
01:44 And the first question most sports people ask us is what time can we get out of here?
01:49 And you're like, we haven't even pushed record yet. The first thing you want to do is go home.
01:54 Whereas with the rugby guys, all of them were asking us, brilliant, what's going on? How do you make it?
01:59 What camera is that? What are you doing? What sort of interviews are you doing? Why are you doing this? Where does that go?
02:03 Why do you ask me that question? And they were interested in it.
02:06 And that was brilliant. And that was across the board, which was really refreshing.
02:11 It's a given that many sports clubs are at the heart of their community.
02:16 And the way the home club performs on the weekend can hugely impact the locals around them.
02:21 So just how much of this is taken into account when cameras go behind the scenes?
02:27 I mean, Northampton, for example, we sort of touch on it there, that productivity within the shoe factories goes down 50 percent if they lose on the weekend.
02:35 And it's up if they win. You know, it's that important that, you know, the key industry within that town is affected by how they do.
02:43 You don't need much more. You don't say much more than about how important it is than that.
02:49 Really, that's what sums it up.
02:51 Sporting docuseries have become a staple for the majority of sports fans.
02:56 And now with the improved access and quality throughout, they'll certainly be making an impact in the future.
