00:05 >> You were sitting there, Jamari, and you heard my question.
00:07 On that play, is that something that normally DBs are allowed to get away with?
00:11 Or was that just an inadvertent bump?
00:14 >> Me personally, I just thought he just made a good play.
00:17 I feel like, you know, they told me a lot of the fans were studying, and
00:20 they saw it the week prior.
00:21 So I feel like he just made a play, and just knocked him out the route.
00:26 We didn't wanna end up pick six, but he just made a play on the ball.
00:30 It's football, so.
00:32 [BLANK_AUDIO]
00:35 >> For both of you guys, I was kinda asking the coaches about it too, but
00:38 just after riding a high of a good start to the season, having that loss,
00:43 what do you feel like you guys have learned from that?
00:45 And what do you kinda wanna take from that to get back into winning against Duke?
00:49 >> Losing, that's a feeling that we don't like.
00:55 It was a bad test ground out, so we just try to move on from it.
00:59 And focus on the group right now, and the team.
01:01 So we just took that L and moved on from it.
01:05 And hopefully, we'll get a W.
01:09 >> Yeah, like you said, losing, we don't like that feeling.
01:12 So just moving forward, we just gotta do everything in our preparation to not have
01:17 that same feeling again.
01:18 [BLANK_AUDIO]
01:20 >> Guess what, for both of you, what was last week like?
01:23 What's a bye week like when you lose because you're kinda just doing the way it
01:28 was, and then tomorrow you probably refused to get healthy.
01:31 But what was it like for both you guys to go through it and not have any?
01:36 >> For us, we probably did a lot of self-evaluation.
01:40 A lot of things that we saw we did last week, mistakes we made last week,
01:45 we make sure that we didn't make them for the upcoming week.
01:49 Pay a lot of attention to detail during practice,
01:53 pick up some better practice habits that we carried on into the game.
01:59 >> Yeah, we just took the bye week to try to get healthy and
02:03 try to get our healthy stuff on through.
02:06 And just take that time to evaluate what we did the first seven games and
02:10 try to get better going forward.
02:12 >> For both of you, you have a week off, are you watching a game like UNC Virginia
02:17 and thinking about how that might impact where you guys are at in the standings
02:21 moving forward?
02:22 >> Not necessarily, I watched a Duke game, I watched a Duke game,
02:26 a Florida State game, I know you guys haven't played them.
02:29 But no, I really watched the UNC Virginia to see where we were gonna be.
02:33 Cuz we don't play UNC, we play Virginia a couple weeks, but
02:37 we just focused on Duke right now, thinking of one game at a time.
02:41 Yeah, I was mainly focused on the Duke-Florida State game just cuz that's
02:45 what we played this week, so I just wanted to see how their players was and
02:49 what different things they do to try to get us ready for this week.
02:52 >> Jamari Duke's coming in as one of the best pass defenses in the country.
02:56 When you look at them on film,
02:58 what makes them so difficult for guys like yourselves to make the big plays?
03:01 >> Their discipline, they got a veteran defense.
03:05 They do a lot of different things, they disguise the defense pretty well.
03:09 Against Florida State, they got some good cornering to tackle,
03:15 the state is coming down here.
03:18 I thought it would be a good challenge for us, and
03:21 we know that it's gonna be one of the big teams that we're seeing this season.
03:26 So that's why the five weekends a week is critical for us to come in and
03:30 pay attention to the details and work on small things.
03:34 >> You said you watched the game Saturday, how much other Duke film have you watched?
03:37 And what impresses you about Riley Leonard and
03:41 what's the difference between him and the backup and what they do?
03:44 >> I took last week to watch a lot of Duke film.
03:49 Probably what's the difference between Riley Leonard and
03:52 they back up is he just has more experience and
03:56 he looks like he's more comfortable in that system.
03:59 So we have to take time this week to look at both quarterbacks,
04:03 cuz we don't know who we're gonna get.
04:05 But I definitely took a lot of time last week watching Duke.
04:10 >> Jomari, talk about playing through the injury, how does it feel?
04:14 And what did it limit you to doing against Pitt?
04:19 >> I mean, I don't wanna just blame my hand for a lot of stuff,
04:24 but I mean, it's football, you gotta play through a lot of the injuries.
04:29 So I'm gonna be fine, I'm gonna be fine.
04:34 I didn't get a lot of treatment, I had to practice.
04:38 I'll be fine.
04:38 >> Anybody else?
04:43 >> There was a story this weekend that the average starter in
04:48 the big time college football was $103,000 from NIL.
04:55 Does that number sound plausible?
04:57 And what will it be?
04:59 >> I mean, probably a different program,
05:04 different program, different star,
05:09 different players, some players are getting $4 million,
05:16 $5 million, $2 million, so I mean, it can go either way, I guess.
05:22 I mean, I don't really try to pay attention to NIL,
05:24 I'm gonna see the right out of this football game.
05:27 >> Yeah, like you said, I ain't really too focused on the NIL right now.
05:33 You know you ball on the field, that's gonna come, so
05:37 we can talk about it at the end of the season.
05:40 >> Okay, all right guys.
