Brendan Gulick talks about what the weakness of the Browns defense may be.
Transcript
00:00 So where, in your opinion, do you think is the weakness for this Browns defense?
00:04 Where do you see the Colts being able to attack this defense and
00:09 trying to make some hay?
00:10 It's a really good question because I don't know that I've seen a glaring
00:15 weakness yet, and I'm not saying that they're not beatable.
00:17 Obviously the Browns have lost a couple of times already, right?
00:20 Um, I, I think if you can figure out a way to give who, like whoever you're
00:28 playing, if you can keep your quarterback upright and give them
00:31 a chance to see the field.
00:33 The Browns secondary has played well.
00:36 Um, I don't know that I feel about the secondary quite the same level of
00:42 woe that I feel about the defensive line.
00:44 Uh, I think Cleveland's linebackers have done a nice job as well.
00:47 I mean, there, there really hasn't been a major glaring weakness in the
00:53 defense through the first five games.
00:55 That's, that's part of the deal.
00:56 They've given up a thousand and two yards, which is literally the, the
01:00 fewest yards that any defense has allowed since 1971, but it's the third
01:05 best overall effort in that regard since the merger.
01:08 So, I mean, look, I, I think if you're going to beat the Browns, it helps to
01:13 establish a running game, which is really hard to do and look at what Christian
01:17 McCaffrey struggled with last week.
01:18 You know, he, he had a couple of good runs on his, his first drive and
01:22 ultimately with a hall of fame, left tackle blocking for him, um, in 11
01:27 carries for 43 yards, you know, I'm not saying that Jonathan Taylor's doomed
01:31 and he shouldn't even bother coming to the stadium.
01:33 Like I'm just saying it, it is, it is proving to be a very, very difficult
01:38 defense to move the football against.
