These are the adverts that appeared during the broadcast of the superior TV film Les Miserables (featuring Richard Jordan and Anthony Perkins). There are a lot of familiar faces, such as Maureen Lipman, Clive Swift (Keeping Up Appearances), Erika Hoffman (Brush Strokes), Gavin Richards (Allo Allo), Nottingham Forest's Brian Clough, plus future Coronation St stars Phil Middlemiss (Des Barnes) and Ken Morley (Reg Holdsworth), plus a few famous adverts, such as the Volkswagen "Changes" advert, where the girl dumps everything but keeps the car, and a couple of funny Pilsner beer ads. There are 5 ad breaks in total, so here are the ads that appeared in 1989. They are as follows:
1st break: Texas kitchen sale; Sprite drink; Grasshopper mower (cartoon); Volkswagon car ("Changes" - divorced woman keeps the car); Clacton pier "Fourth Dimenson" theme park; BT's Beattie (Maureen Lipman - Call to sister in Australia); Dulux paint; Guinness beer in a can (Indian Canoe - Erika Hoffman), and Queensway furniture sale.
2nd break: Snetterton Circuit market; Volvo 440 car; Tennent's Pilsner beer (Man visits numerous pubs); Clerical Medical (cartoon); Shield soap; Truprint photos, and Kwik Fit (Phil Middlemiss - Wedding breakdown).
3rd break: Flymo (Ken Morley - Mowing lawn before wife arrives); Causton Vale apple juice (How do they cram 4 apples into a can?); Volkswagon (Changes divorce woman); Pleasure Beach theme park; Castrol GTX petrol; Maxwell House coffee (Late for photoshoot), and Texas kitchen sale.
