00:02 - Alright, thanks Congressman.
00:12 Tell us what you think about going home
00:14 and where things stand.
00:16 - Well look, first of all, at this point,
00:18 the decision of our process going forward
00:20 is gonna be that of Jim Jordan.
00:22 He is our speaker designate.
00:24 So it's gonna be his decision.
00:26 Personally, I think we should stay and finish this.
00:29 But, that's up to him, and I'm gonna respect his decision.
00:33 And whatever Jim needs from me, I will do that.
00:35 - Is it clear there will be a speaker vote Monday,
00:37 or is it a possibility?
00:39 - That's all in the hands of Jim Jordan.
00:41 I think it's very possible, but it's in his hands.
00:44 - Do you think that the second vote tally
00:45 is indicative of the fact that Jim Jordan
00:47 can get to 217 on the floor?
00:48 Do you think it shows that he can get to 217?
00:51 - Yeah, I think he can, but there's a lot of work
00:53 that's gotta be done in a short amount of time.
00:56 And so, we'll see how his team works through that.
00:59 But in these type of situations,
01:01 it's not really something that other members can do.
01:04 It's gonna be him with those people
01:06 to find a way to get there.
01:08 - Were you surprised at the total he got in there?
01:11 - Yeah, I thought it would be higher.
01:14 So, look, I'm consistent with you guys.
01:18 Okay, get back to work, figure a way,
01:20 and that's what he's gonna have to do.
01:22 - And if it can't be Jordan,
01:23 then you wanna run for speaker?
01:24 - I don't know at this point.
01:26 - You wanna be speaker?
01:27 - What I wanna do is get back to work.
01:28 - Do you see a way out of this at all?
01:31 - Oh, we'll find a way out of it.
01:33 I mean, rest assured, that will happen.
01:35 But this is a process amongst people who are elected,
01:41 and so it's gonna be tough.
01:42 But we'll get through it.
01:43 And I think when we do,
01:45 we're still gonna be able to accomplish our work.
01:48 - Apparently some Democrats have sent McHenry a letter
01:51 and said that they wanna have him act as speaker,
01:55 but oversee some legislative actions,
01:58 and there's no solution for his election.
01:59 - Well, look, I've never agreed,
02:02 I never supported that kind of a maneuver,
02:04 and I think Patrick McHenry was very clear
02:09 that that is not going to happen.
02:11 He was emphatic that it's not going to happen,
02:13 and I support him in that.
02:16 We're not gonna be doing any type of coalition governments
02:18 around here.
02:20 We are not a European parliament.
02:22 We are the United States.
02:23 We're gonna work through this.
02:25 There will be a new speaker of the House,
02:27 and then we're gonna get back to work.
02:29 All right, see you guys.
02:30 - Thanks, sir.
