00:00 Welcome to Mojo Plays and today we are putting up our dukes and looking at the 10 Hardest
00:15 Insomniac Spider-Man Bosses.
00:16 For this list we'll be looking at 2018's Spider-Man and 2020's Spider-Man Miles Morales and working
00:23 at which of the many bosses spread across both games gave us the hardest time.
00:28 Whether they offered a unique challenge that was difficult to overcome or were just relentless
00:31 in their strength and defense, as long as they made us want to break our controllers
00:36 then we're going to talk about them.
00:37 Did we miss any?
00:38 Which boss gave you the hardest time?
00:41 Let us know in the comments below.

00:52 Tombstone
00:54 The angry drug lord drank alone.
00:56 There's a poem in there somewhere.
01:00 You know better than me.
01:05 As a side mission that is completely optional, not every player who made it to the end of
01:10 2018's Spider-Man would have even encountered this thudding, crushing goliath known as Tombstone,
01:16 but those who did will not remember him fondly.
01:20 Tombstone has an interesting quirk during his fight which is that he is very resistant
01:25 to damage until you manage to hit him with the counter serum inhaler that weakens his
01:29 abilities rendering him… hurtable?
01:32 You can hurt him is what I'm trying to get at.
01:34 Don't fret though you challenged seekers because fighting him is still difficult even
01:39 after you manage to get the serum into him.
01:41 His waves of minions are the perfect distraction allowing him time to approach and attack,
01:46 and his fire chain attacks leave much to be desired.
01:50 Not because they're terrible, but because they're terribly annoying.
01:53 Tombstone is the worst, well one of the worst.
01:57 Too much to hope you'll be taking it easier now that you're uh you know mortal?
02:02 Not a chance.
02:03 Threat of death just ups the thrill.
02:07 Scorpion.
02:08 Wrap this up.
02:09 Never spend an 8 ton instant to do a man's job.
02:16 In Spider-Man the player actually takes on the infamous villain Scorpion twice.
02:21 The first time is an interesting mind bend where the effects of Scorpion's poison causes
02:25 Peter to hallucinate creating an environment that is weird and awesome to fight through.
02:30 The second boss fight, the one that has made this list, has the player taking on Scorpion
02:35 toe to toe.
02:36 Oh also Rhino is simultaneously trying to hit them.
02:39 Yes, a combo boss fight tells you all you need to know about this encounter.
02:43 Trying to eliminate the quick moving nimble Scorpion while the also quick moving and harder
02:47 hitting Rhino attacks you at the same time is a boss fight that proves that slow and
02:51 steady is absolute bulls**t.
02:54 You know what's better than slow and steady?
02:56 Fast and steady.
02:59 Rhino.
03:01 Speaking of this terribly awful Scorpion fight, there is 50% of this battle that is also terribly
03:11 awful.
03:12 Being surprisingly fast for a big fella, Rhino hits hard and is invulnerable to damage
03:18 until you can stun him.
03:20 Finding the sweet spot to throw things at him to break his guard is annoying when a
03:23 Scorpion man is also coming in and hitting you from angles you didn't expect.
03:27 The trick is to drop Scorpion first and stay out of melee range.
03:32 Rhino uses projectiles and hard close hits to keep you on your toes so you better be
03:36 ready for quick reactions throughout this whole fight.
04:04 Shocker
04:12 Some people think that Shocker got his name from his ability to deal out electrical attacks.
04:17 The truth is he got it from his ability to seem like a pretty easy boss until his final
04:21 phase and it's a real shocker.
04:23 Shut up.
04:24 The first part of this boss fight is a combination of basic dodging, getting chased and hitting
04:29 your opponent.
04:30 The final phase is when things start to heat up as you won't be able to do any damage
04:34 to this guy unless you use your environment to your advantage.
04:38 Watch out for those area of effect attacks and stay on your game until you can bring
04:41 the roof down on this sucker.
04:44 Assuming all goes well, you should be home in time for dinner.
04:58 Taskmaster
05:06 Another optional boss comes in the form of Taskmaster, who the player can't engage until
05:11 they've completed all the tasks set out by the villain himself.
05:14 The idea of these tasks is to build information on Spider-Man in order to gain understanding
05:19 on how to fight him.
05:21 This is evident when it's impossible to land a melee hit on the relentless boss, instead
05:26 forcing the player to constantly dodge counter.
05:29 If you're good at dodging in 2018's Spider-Man, this is a challenge of endurance.
05:33 Stay focused, keep your reactions swift and take this guy down slowly and efficiently.
05:38 If you aren't good at dodging in 2018's Spider-Man, this is a challenge of composure.
05:42 Stay focused, keep your reactions weak and try your best not to sell your console on
05:46 eBay.
05:47 Prowler
06:12 Finally a boss from Spider-Man Miles Morales, the Prowler.
06:16 The Prowler is interesting, because if he was using all of the abilities he throws out
06:20 across the multiple phases of this boss fight at once, he would easily be the hardest boss
06:25 in the whole game.
06:27 Fortunately for the player, he spreads out his worst traits to make it achievable.
06:31 His cloaking ability makes it really difficult to keep an eye on him, and his combination
06:35 of strength and agility prove as annoying as his hologram ability.
06:38 Oh yeah, he has a hologram ability.
06:41 Get good at dodging again, because even though this guy is pulling his punches, he is still
06:45 one very tough cookie.
06:58 Mr Negative
07:09 When you take on Mr Negative in Spider-Man, you definitely won't be feeling positive,
07:13 dumb joke, Mr Negative follows a pattern that seems to be recurring in Spider-Man games.
07:19 Super cakewalky easy breezy first phase, nightmare hellfire wish you were never born sell your
07:23 own mother to skip this encounter final phase.
07:26 The demon henchmen add an extra layer of annoyance, which will have you screaming at your television
07:31 "I reckon I could take this guy on if it weren't for all these f***ing guys" but even without
07:36 them you still have to take on Mr Negative in his final demon super form.
07:41 With a wide area of attack, the trick here is focus and crowd control.
07:46 Keep on top of the enemies, be ready at any moment to dodge, hurl objects at Mr Negative
07:50 to revert him back to his normal form, run in to do damage, escape before he changes
07:55 back, rinse, repeat.
07:57 Mr Negative more like Mr Big Piece of Sh*t.
08:12 You may have missed this one if you didn't get your hands on the DLC for Spider-Man titled
08:35 The City That Never Sleeps.
08:37 Hammerhead is a real doozy, remember Tombstone?
08:40 Well not to be reductive but Hammerhead is essentially him but with better weapons and
08:45 tougher skin.
08:46 So yeah, poop.
08:48 This battle requires the consistently annoying task of dodging bullets whilst flinging your
08:53 own projectiles, which can be a real test in timing.
08:57 Good luck.
09:08 Doctor Octopus.
09:22 It's only right that the final boss, the mastermind behind the Sinister Six and Peter's mentor
09:27 and actual boss, would be the hardest boss in the game.
09:31 The fight takes place over multiple phases, and each phase is a masterclass in a different
09:36 style of combat.
09:37 At its core though, this fight is a challenge of endurance, and never letting your opponent
09:41 have the upper hand.
09:43 Stay focused, and don't miss those dodge opportunities.
09:46 Keep your distance and wait for your chance to strike and do damage.
09:49 Avoid the strongest attacks, and don't get tripped up by the area of effect moves.
09:53 Stun, hit, and run.
09:56 Doc Ock is taking no prisoners.
10:16 The Tinkerer.
10:25 The Tinkerer is the final boss fight in Spider-Man Mars Morales, and seems almost as if the developers
10:31 took everything they'd learned from the previous bosses of both games, and combined them into
10:35 something truly terrifying.
10:38 The Tinkerer has a massive bag of tricks that she uses across all phases of this boss fight,
10:43 whilst already being very strong and very, very fast.
10:46 She uses ranged attacks and gadgets like turrets and a, what was it, oh yeah, a death wheel.
10:52 Throw in mines and annoying explosions, and you've got a boss fight that keeps the player
10:57 constantly alert, and tests them in everything they've learned from the previous game, its
11:02 DLCs, and the game we've just been playing.
11:04 The Tinkerer takes things up a whole notch, and may have caused the downfall of my own
11:09 no throwing controllers rule, because I threw the controller.
11:12 Oops.
