00:00 >> Hi, I'm Skylar Gerard, this is John Gillespie, and this is Ben King, and
00:03 we're here with Van Aschen, the Grove Report.
00:05 So this weekend, Ole Miss will be playing LSU at home.
00:09 So what do y'all think the keys of the game are?
00:12 >> Well, I wrote today on Thursday what I've kind of felt the keys to the game were.
00:17 And first, I think Ole Miss has to contain Jaden Daniels and Malik Nabors.
00:22 Pete Golden's defense is gonna have his hands full with that.
00:24 Another mobile quarterback, really channeled the blind receiver.
00:27 That could kind of provide a mismatch in the secondary.
00:30 And second, on the other side of the ball, I think Ole Miss really needs to
00:34 establish some form of a run game, which has not been easy.
00:38 Which if you had that on your bingo card coming into the year, you win.
00:42 I don't think really anybody did,
00:44 because Quenshawn Judkins has just not looked like himself.
00:46 Thanks in part to some issues up front.
00:49 But Ole Miss needs to establish the run game,
00:52 protect Jackson Darden, the passing game.
00:54 And that's what I think Ole Miss really, really needs to do in order to have a shot.
00:58 >> I agree with John, Ole Miss really needs to slow down Jaden Daniels and
01:03 Malik Nabors.
01:03 Last year, Jaden Daniels crushed Ole Miss, five total touchdowns, 370 yards.
01:08 Malik Nabors had similar numbers, and
01:10 he's looking like the best SEC blind receiver this year.
01:13 As for Ole Miss on offense, I agree with John that you need to start a run game.
01:18 But I think that Ole Miss really needs to attack with the pass game this week.
01:21 LSU secondary is uncharacteristically really weak this year.
01:25 It's really odd for them to have a secondary that's this bleak with talent.
01:30 So I think a big game from Jackson Darden is in store and
01:33 needs to happen if Ole Miss wants to pull out a win.
01:35 That's my takeaway as far as- >> Well, and I will add to that,
01:40 that with LSU secondary kind of being a little suspect,
01:44 that really puts the emphasis on pass protection, right?
01:49 Because LSU is so good in the front seven.
01:50 >> Yes.
01:52 >> So if the game plan is for Jackson Dart to cook or go off,
01:56 as we're kind of potentially expecting, the offensive line is gonna have to give
02:01 him time to throw or else it could be a long night.
02:03 >> And with this hard game coming up, what are y'all's score predictions?
02:06 >> My brain is telling me to pick LSU.
02:11 I don't think I'm going to, though.
02:13 I think it being home for Ole Miss, and
02:16 I feel like Ole Miss' back is against the proverbial wall a little bit here.
02:20 Because a loss here pretty much takes you out of the race for
02:23 Atlanta really early.
02:24 So I think Ole Miss is gonna squeak out a win.
02:27 I like Ole Miss by four.
02:28 I'm going 31-27, Rebels, I thought it would.
02:32 >> All right, my brain is telling me that Ole Miss loses and
02:37 I'm gonna go with it, unfortunately.
02:38 [LAUGH] This is gonna be a tough game for Ole Miss, but I don't know.
02:42 Unless there's big adjustments along the offensive line,
02:44 I think it's gonna be a long day for Ole Miss' offense again.
02:47 Defense is gonna show out and keep them in the game, but
02:50 LSU is gonna eventually win this by 7, 42-35, if I'm not mistaken.
