A man has been jailed after being convicted of possessing prohibited firearms. More crossing and junction improvements in Newcastle City Centre. Earlier this month the Victorian stage machinery underneath at the Tyne Theatre and Opera House was demonstrated for the first time since 1987.

00:09 Officers received intelligence that Victor Tuff had attempted to import parts of a machine

00:15 The items were seized before they could be delivered and other illegal items were seized
00:19 at Tuff's workshop.
00:21 Work has begun to upgrade the junction and pedestrian crossings on Collingwood and Moseley
00:25 Street in Newcastle.
00:27 The council hope this will enable more efficient traffic management and make it a lot safer
00:31 for pedestrians crossing.
00:33 And finally, earlier this month, the Victorian stage machinery underneath the Time Theatre
00:37 and Opera House was demonstrated for the first time since 1987.
00:42 Community volunteers spent the last 10 months learning how to maintain and operate the machinery
00:47 and delegates from across the world got to witness the moving stage.
