00:00 Nick Saban raves on fantastic job done by Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss.
00:04 Hello, my name is Skylar Jard, a fan of the nation,
00:06 the Grubb Report, and here's your latest football news.
00:08 Now, Saban was giving praise
00:10 to his former offensive coordinator, Lane Kiffin.
00:12 Now, knowing how unique Nick Saban
00:14 and Lane Kiffin's relationship is, this is surprising.
00:17 They worked together from 2014 to 2016 for Alabama,
00:20 and about everyone knows that Lane Kiffin
00:22 is the head coach for Ole Miss,
00:24 and they'll be going head-to-head on Saturday in Tuscaloosa.
00:27 Now, in media availability earlier this week,
00:29 Saban heaped praise on his former offensive coordinator
00:32 and the job he's done since arriving to Oxford.
00:34 "I think they're outstanding, obviously,"
00:35 Saban told the reporters at the start of the week.
00:37 "They're fourth in the country or something like that
00:39 in total offense and scoring, you know,
00:40 52 points a game and 526 yards.
00:43 You know Lane's offensive guy
00:45 and did a great job when he was here."
00:47 Nick Saban said Kiffin has never been shy
00:49 to be praising his former boss either.
00:51 Even after a rough start to the season for Alabama,
00:53 Kiffin did admit that he somewhat feels better
00:55 about his chances on Saturday
00:56 since Bryce Young is no longer the Tights quarterback.
00:59 "Well, it's good to know Bryce won't be there," Kiffin said.
01:01 "That's very positive. I mean, we all got our issues,
01:04 and, you know, this is one of the best teams
01:05 or the best team in the last 15 years
01:08 and just one of the hardest places to play.
01:10 Just because Texas won there, I mean, it won't get easier,"
01:12 says Lane Kiffin.
01:13 Ole Miss and Alabama are scheduled to kick off
01:15 at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday,
01:17 and the game will be televised on CBS.
