00:00 Another case of a passenger who lost his money and was taken to the NIA.
00:04 And in the CCTV footage, there's an employee who looks like he's been stabbed.
00:09 Here's the first news, John Consulta.
00:12 The woman in the CCTV footage was a contractual employee of the Office for Transportation Security or OTS
00:22 in the NIA Terminal 1 on the night of September 8.
00:24 She was seen trying to pick up a piece of paper and then she drank it.
00:30 She was also seen stabbing the paper with a knife.
00:33 According to our policy, the checkpoint is not allowed to eat in that area.
00:37 But more than eating at work, the video is the center of the investigation of the OTS
00:43 in the incident that day where a passenger lost $300.
00:47 The usual inspection was conducted and then later on, the passenger returned to our security screening checkpoint
00:54 to raise his complaint that he lost his money.
01:00 The people on duty were still watching but they didn't see anything.
01:04 They were wondering where the money went.
01:07 Until they noticed the 28-year-old employee who was being blamed for the CCTV footage.
01:13 What you can see in the CCTV is that he only tried the object once.
01:19 Yes, just once.
01:22 Was there a person next to him who was OTS?
01:27 Based on the CCTV, there was a person next to him.
01:32 It is now known that the employee was being blamed for the money that the passenger lost.
01:37 But the person did not show any signs of being guilty and he was not the only one who was being blamed.
01:43 Right now, we are investigating the subject personnel involved, his supervisor,
01:50 and there is one more person who was involved in the incident.
01:55 So, there are three people under investigation by OTS.
01:59 The three people were already under preventive suspension.
02:02 So, JMA Integrated Use has no opportunity to get a reaction.
02:07 The investigation is expected to be completed within a few weeks
02:11 and a recommendation will be issued regarding the incident of OTS.
02:15 We are actually coordinating with the PNP-ABC group for the filing of the criminal case.
02:20 We encourage the complainant if he will personalize his complaint, then we will assist him.
02:27 This year alone, there are several cases of passengers losing money and using illegal means.
02:33 In February, the video of the two security screening officers at IA Terminal 2
02:39 who were taking and exchanging money for a trip by Thai tourists went viral.
02:44 But the Thai tourists' partner confronted them and made a video to get back the money they lost.
02:50 According to OTS, they were suspended and were relieved.
02:55 In March, another security screening officer was arrested after he was caught on CCTV
03:01 that he stole a smartwatch of a Chinese tourist at IA Terminal 1.
03:06 The suspect denied it.
03:08 The Manila International Airport Authority said that the negative image in the Philippines and the Philippines is the cause of the incidents.
03:16 From July 1, 2022 until this year,
03:19 OTS has dismissed, suspended, denied and reviewed the status of the people who were working there.
03:29 The people were also told that their clothes should be without pockets and they are not allowed to wear jackets.
03:36 This is the first news. John Consulta for JMA Integrated News.
