00:00 The Senate will investigate the Socorro Bayanihan Services, Inc. group in Surigao del Norte,

00:05 which was called "culto" by Senator Arisa Ontiveros.

00:09 Ontiveros will examine the incidents of rape, sexual abuse, and child marriages

00:14 that are said to be common in the community.

00:16 Senator Ronald De La Rosa also wants the group's laboratory and private army to investigate.

00:22 The Department of Justice also ordered the National Bureau of Investigation

00:26 to investigate the case. Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla

00:31 filed a complaint in June, accusing the group's leader, J. Rence Killario,

00:37 alias Senior Aguila, and 12 other members, including sex trafficking and human trafficking.

00:44 According to the local government,

00:46 the Socorro Bayanihan Services has more than 3,000 members,

00:50 including the Kuta and Comunidad members.

00:53 In April, the Socorro Task Force was formed to help the group's victims,

00:59 including the left-behind children of the victims of sexual abuse

01:03 of the Socorro Bayanihan Services.

01:06 They believed that the world would be a better place.

01:43 The vice president of the Socorro Bayanihan Services also described their group

01:48 as refusing to accept the allegations against them.

01:51 They are ready to face an investigation.

01:54 The cult they are talking about, there is no truth to that.

01:59 Our association promotes Bayanihan culture, Bayanihan spirit.

02:05 And our main purpose is first for housing.

02:12 Housing because it's hard to build a house here.
