UAW workers at a Volvo Trucks plant in Virginia voted to authorize a strike if contract negotiations with the companies fail to progress. The votes by locals of the United Auto Workers union come as about 49,000 hourly workers at 54 GM facilities have been on strike nationwide since Sept. 16, including five factories in Kentucky and Tennessee that stopped vehicle production.
