00:00 >> Are you guys on that fourth and goal that they gave it to the hand back,
00:03 half back instead of doing a quarterback sneak?
00:05 >> To be honest, not really.
00:09 We had Jumbo and they did their thing.
00:13 I mean, our big guys against their big guys, they take them every time.
00:15 >> When I seen the quarterback come up, I was expecting a sneak, but
00:21 I just had to play my keys and I seen the hand it off.
00:24 And that's when we went and made the play together.
00:27 >> For both of you guys, last week you had the shutout, this week you get
00:31 the big stuff, I guess, what does it say for this defense?
00:34 Also, how much does it just build on the confidence of having
00:37 pretty strong performances early like this?
00:40 >> We plan on getting better.
00:42 Every week we got a show performance, so having that shutout last week and
00:45 then just holding the course, the importance is we just say a lot about our
00:48 defense and we just gotta keep going.
00:50 >> Yeah, I say we just gotta keep on stacking.
00:53 Good days on good days and good games on good games.
00:55 I mean, you build a foundation off of that and you keep going.
00:58 And we play like that and we stop them, and they can't score, they don't win.
01:03 That's how we're gonna do it.
01:04 >> When it feels like Indiana got the momentum in the second half,
01:07 what's the conversation from the defensive side of the ball?
01:09 Maybe the offense isn't clicking.
01:11 So what were you guys talking about to kind of hold them for now?
01:14 >> We can't worry about what offense do, we just gotta go out there and
01:17 try to get a stop.
01:17 So that's just what we were saying, we just gotta stay together and get a stop.
01:22 Just moving forward together as a defensive unit, yeah,
01:25 we have to block out all the other noise.
01:27 I mean, football is a game of momentum, but we can't let that shake us.
01:31 And I feel like once we put our head on it, we stop them and
01:36 did a good job of that today.
01:37 >> TJ, what does making that kind of a play do for your confidence?
01:40 And just how much does that mature you as a player to know that you can come up in
01:43 big moments like that?
01:44 >> Every week, I get more and more confidence,
01:47 just with more playing time and more experience.
01:49 So making that play does a lot, it allows my teammates to trust me more.
01:53 So just to believe in me just allows me to be able to build my confidence.
01:58 >> Can't have more downplay, is there any message you guys are trying to tell
02:02 each other to stay focused, hype each other up, without play at all?
02:05 >> We just knew we had to get a stop, that was a game right there.
02:09 So when they called a timeout, we should have said we had to stay together,
02:13 we had to play lower and then we get to stop.
02:16 That was the only conversation we had.
02:18 We put it all on the line right there too.
02:21 That's it, sacrifice your body to win that play.
02:24 >> Kim, what's the transition been like for you?
02:27 Come in kind of late and I think you had an injury situation you're dealing with
02:32 before, but now seems like you hit the ground running.
02:36 >> Yeah, I mean, I'm just blessed to have these guys around me, to be honest.
02:42 Without them, I wouldn't be able to do this, to be honest.
02:46 So I mean, just having the guys around me on the defense and
02:50 then shoot, meeks been down, everybody like,
02:54 the safety room has been hit with some injuries.
02:57 And we just confide in each other and trust each other.
03:00 And I think the defense does a great job of doing that to us well,
03:03 especially being a next man up mentality.
03:06 But my transition, it's been well, I've been learning both of the safety spots and
03:11 played both of them today.
03:12 And yeah, I had a little make up in my hamstring,
03:18 a fall camp set me back a little bit.
03:20 But like I said, I hit the ground running, I'm not looking back.
03:25 >> TJ, when you grabbed him up on that floor, did you know he was short?
03:29 And what was going through your mind when you kind of realized he was short?
03:32 >> When I come off that edge and I seen him, I knew I had him in place.
03:35 So I knew when I hit him, I knew my teammates were coming, so
03:37 I knew it was over with then.
03:40 >> Cam, you've been a starter at North Carolina,
03:42 obviously you come in here and then Josh goes out and you come in.
03:45 I guess from week two to week three, what was that transition?
03:47 It seemed like you took a big move this week and had a really big game today.
03:51 >> To be honest, it's all an adjustment.
03:55 Coming from Carolina being a four year starting and everything too as well.
04:01 Shoot, it's an adjustment, but I mean, we have a next man up mentality.
04:06 We're not selfish out here.
04:08 We're gonna do what we can do to win this game with each other.
04:11 And shoot, if that's me or anybody, I mean, hey, let's do it.
04:17 >> All right, you guys haven't come back against Georgia Tech.
04:21 You had to hold on to a lead in the second half today.
04:23 What do you think that shows about this team to overcome adversity in both of
04:26 those situations?
04:28 >> It just always showing that we can stay together.
04:30 It don't matter what happens throughout the game.
04:32 It's one play at a time.
04:34 We just show we can stay together as a defense and as a team.
04:38 >> You played with Josh in North Carolina, did you guys
04:42 talk much during the game or after it was over?
04:44 >> I told him, I'll say this.
04:48 We didn't do a lot of talking in between the lines, but
04:52 I felt him tap my back a couple of times.
04:54 But I didn't really say anything to him until after the game.
04:58 In between those lines is war.
04:59 And shoot, I mean, that's one of my best friends.
05:02 I know him, came into Carolina together.
05:05 And I knew he was gonna be a good back for them.
05:08 And he had a good game.
05:10 But to be honest, yeah, we ain't talked much beforehand.
05:14 But after the game, we definitely had some.
05:16 >> What did you say to him?
05:18 >> Shoot, I said,
05:19 >> [LAUGH]
05:23 >> Miss you, dog.
05:23 >> [LAUGH]
