00:00 >> Hi, I'm Skylar Dryer, this is John Makin, and this is Ben King, and
00:03 we're here with Van Nation, the Grove Report.
00:06 So what were y'all's thoughts on last Saturday's game and
00:09 how the offense kind of started off really slow, but
00:11 then they picked it up in the second half.
00:13 So why do y'all think that was the case?
00:15 >> Well, I think a lot of the issues boil down to the offensive line.
00:19 First half, Ole Miss's offensive line really struggled against two lanes front
00:22 seven, which is not something that I think anybody really expected.
00:26 That affected the running game, Jackson Dart didn't really have time to pass.
00:30 I think that was a large portion of it, and I think we're probably gonna see some,
00:34 maybe some remedies of that this week.
00:37 >> Like John said, definitely sloppy offensive line play.
00:41 Quenchon Judkins could barely find any breathing room in between the tackles,
00:45 and Jackson Dart barely had any time to throw the ball.
00:48 But also, Zachary Franklin and
00:50 Tre Harris went down early without any injuries.
00:53 But I think that we, like John said, the offensive line,
00:56 I think receivers should be fine as well this week.
00:59 >> And Pete Goulding's defense is doing really well.
01:02 So what are your impressions about his defense early on in the season?
01:06 >> I think the first couple series that we've seen in the first two games have
01:11 been maybe a little shaky, but it seems like they make adjustments really quick.
01:15 And especially at halftime, we saw the opening score against Mercer in week one,
01:23 and then Tulane drove down in their opening drive last week.
01:26 But after that point, I mean, the door's kind of been closed.
01:30 And it just really seems like they make adjustments really well on the fly.
01:34 And I think they're also just still trying to get in that early season
01:37 groove a little bit.
01:37 They're trying to maybe find their identity in this new system that he's
01:41 brought to town.
01:42 >> Yeah, they start slow, but they finish strong.
01:45 It's been the name of the game.
01:47 They're a lot more aggressive too than last year, I found,
01:49 especially at the goal line.
01:50 The stack in the defensive line, the front's always heavy.
01:53 I just wish Cedric Johnson, honestly, would be rushing the pass from the goal line.
01:56 I thought that was a little interesting the last few weeks.
01:59 But other than that, it's been great.
02:01 Excited to see what they do against Georgia Tech,
02:02 who they allowed zero points to last year with a much weaker defense.
02:05 >> So obviously, Ole Miss is undefeated and going into week three.
02:09 So what are your predictions for the Georgia Tech game?
02:11 >> The line, what's the line, last I saw, 18 and a half, something like that.
02:17 I don't think Ole Miss covers that.
02:19 I do think that they win pretty comfortably, but I do think that by two,
02:25 I would say Ole Miss by about 17.
02:26 I don't think they cover the 18 and a half.
02:28 Just because of injuries, I think Georgia Tech's offense is a little bit better than
02:33 it was a year ago.
02:34 And obviously, it's a big game next week with Ole Miss and Alabama.
02:37 So they could be looking ahead to that a little bit.
02:40 But I don't think Ole Miss has ever really threatened in this game, and
02:42 I think they win pretty easily.
02:43 >> Yeah, I don't think Georgia Tech's a threat at all.
02:46 They'll probably get some more points than they did last year for sure.
02:50 Haynes King is a much better quarterback there, and
02:52 Brent Key has the jacket tied in the right direction.
02:55 I'm gonna go ahead and say 42 on Ole Miss again, but
02:58 I think Georgia Tech gets 14 up again.
03:00 >> And Ole Miss will play Georgia Tech this Saturday in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium
03:06 at 630, and it'll be on SEC Network.
