00:00 Nat 70's show star Danny Masterson was recently sentenced to 30 years in prison for two counts
00:06 of rape.
00:09 Before the sentence was announced, his colleagues and friends Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis
00:12 wrote letters to the court.
00:16 In it they described Danny, among other things, as a role model.
00:19 This has caused a great outrage among fans and celebrities alike.
00:23 And now Ashton and Mila have commented on this in a new Instagram video.
00:26 "We are aware of the pain that has been caused by the character letters that were
00:30 wrote on behalf of Danny Masterson," Ashton said.
00:33 The letters were not written to question the legitimacy of the judicial system or the validity
00:37 of the jury's ruling.
00:38 "We support victims," Mila said.
00:41 Danny's family asked the two of them to write letters to the judge, describing the
00:44 person they knew for 25 years.
00:47 Ashton continued by saying, "They were intended for the judge to read and not to undermine
00:52 the testimony of the victims or re-traumatize them in any way.
00:55 We would never want to do that and we're sorry if that has taken place."
00:58 - Ashton, Jr.
