00:00 So many of us going on staycations
00:02 and wanting to live the traveler lifestyle.
00:06 We are at the Great Holiday Home Show
00:08 here at the Great Yorkshire Showground
00:10 to find out what it's all about.
00:13 And we're gonna have a look
00:14 at some of the best holiday homes there is on offer.
00:17 There's also, we've got Christine Talbot here,
00:19 the former ITV presenter.
00:21 Karen Wright from Great Yorkshire Bake Off.
00:23 We've got Stephanie Moon, the YouTubers Roaming Radford,
00:27 Peter Wright, the Yorkshire Vets.
00:29 So there's loads of people to meet
00:30 and lots to do this weekend.
00:32 Just come inside and we've been having a look around.
00:34 There's been cookery demos by Steph Moon
00:36 and Karen Wright over there.
00:38 There's lots of stalls
00:39 and outside is some stunning holiday homes.
00:43 But I'm with my good friend here, Christine Talbot.
00:46 You're presenting today, aren't you?
00:47 - I am.
00:48 I've been doing the chat show stages
00:50 here at the Holiday Home Show.
00:51 And it's been great fun.
00:52 I mean, it's all new experiences for me as well.
00:55 So yeah, I've had some great guests.
00:57 So we've had Peter Wright, who's on again
00:59 in about an hour's time, the Yorkshire Vets.
01:01 We've had Andy Torbett, the adventurer,
01:03 explorer and Bond stuntman.
01:06 We've got Matt Baker coming tomorrow.
01:08 And every day I'm talking to some YouTubers
01:11 called the Roaming Radfords, Lindsay and Steve,
01:14 who go around the world in their motorhome
01:16 and basically tell us where the best cab sites to go to.
01:19 Just chronicle their adventures, they're lovely.
01:21 - And how popular is Motorhome?
01:23 'Cause it's the first year it's been held here
01:26 at the Great Yorkshire Showground, isn't it?
01:27 - It is, it was always held in whole for many years.
01:30 And I think that the people that run it
01:31 felt that they needed a bigger site.
01:33 So this is the first year.
01:34 And then they haven't had one since before lockdown.
01:36 That was the last year.
01:37 So it's a big new venture for them.
01:40 Well, I've been amazed.
01:41 I mean, I'm not a motorhomer.
01:43 So I'm a bit of a fraud being here,
01:45 but gosh, there's been hundreds,
01:47 well, there's thousands coming.
01:49 10,000 a day are coming to look around
01:51 and just see what the latest thing is.
01:52 So it's huge.
01:53 I think that lockdown and COVID
01:56 made motorhoming a lot more popular.
01:57 A lot of people wanted to be able to still holiday,
02:00 couldn't go abroad, couldn't go in hotels.
02:02 And that seems to have sparked off a renewed appetite for it,
02:05 which is continuing to this day, which is great.
02:08 - And we've both been told by our husbands,
02:10 "Do not come here and come home,"
02:12 saying we bought a campervan or a motorhome.
02:14 - Oh no, I got banned.
02:15 Christopher said to me, "Do not come home,"
02:17 saying, "You've seen a motorhome and you bought it."
02:20 So I dare, I almost dare leave this great hall
02:22 just in case I see something I want.
02:24 - Yeah, 'cause I've seen some outside
02:26 and I'm like, "Oh yes, I could see myself traveling."
02:29 - I don't think we've got room outside our house.
02:31 I don't think the neighbors would be too troubled.
02:33 - Thank you very much.
02:33 Christine told me.
