00:10 >> Quincy, I guess how much does this defense take pride in having a performance
00:15 like that, not only the turnovers, just the shutout, especially building off of
00:20 last week where you played better in the second half and
00:22 had a complete game today, just thoughts on just today's game.
00:24 >> For the game, coach, I was just telling us,
00:27 just take pride in just beating people, and don't let up.
00:30 No matter if it's a two, three, one, just keep going.
00:35 And that's what we basically did to get the shutout.
00:37 >> Can you talk a little bit about your night?
00:40 Obviously, a couple back-to-back series that ended with a turnover in your hands.
00:44 Just talk about how you were feeling on the field and
00:46 in those two plays particularly.
00:47 >> Yeah, about that, it felt great to get my hands on the ball.
00:50 I feel like last week I missed out on that opportunity and
00:53 just getting a chance to redeem myself.
00:55 I was really appreciative of that moment, so yeah, it felt great.
00:58 [BLANK_AUDIO]
01:02 >> Devin, obviously with Josh and MJ out, how much do you guys really take pride in
01:06 that next man up mentality?
01:07 And what's that like in terms of just kind of trying to keep that going for
01:11 the safeties?
01:12 >> We take a lot of pride in that because the way coach English coaches every
01:15 safety, he says, we always assume next man up, we need every man available in the room.
01:20 So when he's coaching one person,
01:22 you gotta take notes as if you're the next man up at all three safety spots.
01:26 [BLANK_AUDIO]
01:31 >> Anything else?
01:34 >> This is for both of you guys if you wanna answer.
01:37 With the big plays that Jamari and Juar provided offensively,
01:42 I'm just curious what is it like going against them in practice,
01:45 like with what they did tonight in that Georgia Tech game?
01:49 Is any of this a surprise to you guys?
01:51 Have they kind of gotten you a couple times too?
01:54 >> Go ahead, Devin.
01:56 >> Devin.
01:57 >> All right.
01:58 Well, going against those guys, they're real, they're real dudes.
02:03 So I feel like going against great receivers like them made us better as far
02:08 as zone and man coverage, and just disguising, they made us a lot better.
02:12 And I'm sure Quincy agrees as well.
02:16 >> Yeah, I agree.
02:17 Going against those guys is always good,
02:20 but we've seen them in practice.
02:22 So when it comes to the game, it's like nobody really better than those guys,
02:25 for real.
02:26 He gave me a couple times, I gave him, come out the rest.
02:29 So just keep practicing, basically iron sharpening iron, and
02:33 that's how we get prepared for the game, by having those guys opposite sides of the ball.
02:36 [BLANK_AUDIO]
02:40 >> For both of y'all, obviously you practice and
02:43 you guys are getting more comfortable with the system.
02:44 But now having two games of live reps and playing against a real opponent,
02:48 how comfortable are you?
02:49 Are you guys starting to feel like things are clicking, or
02:51 just what's that like now within the system?
02:53 >> It really does.
02:55 Just getting those first two games under your belt,
02:58 just getting roles established, getting comfortable.
03:02 I feel like this is great, and people are starting to get more familiar and
03:05 just getting their feet wet, just getting back into the repetition of things.
03:09 I feel like this is gonna be very great to keep this path rolling on for the team.
03:16 With those two games on our belt, I feel like it's real good getting comfortable
03:19 with the defense.
03:20 Now we're taking real reps, of course we take reps in practice, but
03:23 game time is always different.
03:24 Cuz just having those reps that we can repeatedly and
03:27 then watch film about it against another team, not just always ourselves.
03:30 Not a teammate.
03:32 I think that makes us get more comfortable with the defense and
03:34 understanding what can we do and what we can't do.
03:36 >> All right, I got it, thanks.
03:40 >> Thank you.
