00:00 - What's up GQ, it's Hannah.
00:01 - It's Hailey.
00:02 - And we are the Kavner twins.
00:03 - And these are our essentials.
00:05 [upbeat music]
00:08 - Okay, so we love sunglasses
00:15 because one, we are always in the sun, as you can tell.
00:19 We love laying out and my eyes burn,
00:22 so I always have to have sunglasses on.
00:24 - I think sunglasses too add like such a stylish look,
00:27 even if you're like going out,
00:28 getting some groceries or something,
00:30 you wanna like pop these on,
00:31 it like completes a good staple
00:33 if you're just wearing like a chill look.
00:35 - And then we'll try to coordinate like bikinis.
00:37 If it's more of a brown look, I'll wear like a brown shade.
00:40 For it's all black, the black shade, try to match.
00:42 - Yeah.
00:43 [upbeat music]
00:46 It's pickleball.
00:47 With the family, we just stopped playing basketball,
00:50 graduated from the University of Miami,
00:52 and we needed something to keep us active and busy.
00:55 And pickleball, you guys, we are obsessed with.
00:57 We played tennis a lot, versus my mom,
00:59 she has a tennis league,
01:00 and we'd always go and watch her play.
01:02 And I was like, wow, we love tennis.
01:04 But then pickleball started coming.
01:05 - Yeah, it's very popular.
01:06 - And we went and constantly go play
01:08 with my sister and her boyfriend,
01:09 who we consider him our coach.
01:11 - He's really good.
01:12 - His name's Coach Mike.
01:13 [upbeat music]
01:15 - One thing about Hannah and I, I'm the better cook,
01:18 if you guys don't know, I'm the better cook,
01:19 but we have like loved cooking.
01:22 I don't know if we're really good at it yet.
01:24 I think, I like to say we are, but it's a hobby of ours.
01:27 Like it's a passion, you know?
01:28 It's like we send each other reels on Instagram,
01:30 let's try this recipe, let's try this one.
01:32 Obviously our oatmeal every morning though,
01:35 with protein powder and some peanut butter and fruit,
01:37 every day, for the last like seven months,
01:40 like it doesn't get old.
01:40 - We should start doing nights where we cook for each other.
01:42 - Okay, I like it.
01:43 - So you do like a Monday night,
01:44 and I'll do like a Tuesday, taco Tuesday.
01:46 - Look at us.
01:46 - My quesadillas, we're splitting it up.
01:48 [upbeat music]
01:50 - So the next essential is our family.
01:53 Here's a picture of them.
01:54 We got some of a whole crew in here.
01:56 This is in Vegas.
01:57 So we come with a big family.
01:59 We have three other sisters.
02:01 - They're our best friends.
02:01 - Seriously, our biggest support system.
02:03 I think having a family in a tight knit circle
02:06 and just growing up super close,
02:08 we always have each other's back.
02:09 Obviously we have each other,
02:10 but having our family as like our outlet
02:12 and our best friends and like knowing
02:14 that they have our best interest
02:15 is such a big thing for us.
02:17 - Exactly, and we'll always do group FaceTime calls.
02:19 Well, at least like twice a week.
02:21 So we have like a group chat
02:22 and it's called the Cavendish girls.
02:23 Sorry, dad.
02:24 Dad's not in that one.
02:24 Say hi guys.
02:26 Only two of the sisters made it in Mama Cav, Natalie.
02:29 You guys wanna say hi?
02:30 Don't be shy.
02:31 - Hi.
02:32 [upbeat music]
02:35 - One essential that is vital to our mornings
02:38 is our devotional.
02:39 Hannah and I are very big into our faith.
02:41 So starting the day off right with the word of God
02:43 is something that we try to do
02:45 and prioritize like every morning.
02:47 And we'll always try to do wireless mornings too.
02:49 So like obviously our alarms will go off,
02:51 but I'll try to keep my phone there.
02:52 I used to immediately just grab my phone
02:54 and start scrolling.
02:56 And I was like, why am I starting my day like this?
02:57 Like I need to start my day with more happiness,
03:00 more things that are fulfilling,
03:01 broaden my perspective.
03:03 And my mom got me a devotional actually last year.
03:05 This is my second one,
03:06 but last year then I kind of got really into it.
03:09 And we'll just sit there,
03:10 do our devotional together, say our prayer.
03:12 Just like Kayla said,
03:12 I think that if you made God the center of your life,
03:14 all good things will come
03:15 and that's how we like to start our day.
03:17 [upbeat music]
03:19 Probably my most essential is weights
03:22 because it represents our health and fitness
03:24 and like our love and our passion for it.
03:25 We're very routine like people.
03:28 And I think that strength and conditioning
03:30 has developed so much more in our life now
03:33 that we kind of ended our careers with basketball.
03:36 - I agree.
03:36 I think that one thing that we prioritize
03:38 every single day is being active.
03:40 And we have a whole workout plan,
03:42 legs, shoulders, arms,
03:44 everything all week long planned out for us.
03:47 So just staying in a routine, staying disciplined,
03:49 Hannah and I are very,
03:50 that's how we're wired best is being routine like
03:52 and just being able to lift every single day
03:55 is something that like keeps us going.
03:56 Like we prioritize that.
03:57 Like when are we lifting?
03:58 Even after this, we're where we're doing.
04:00 It's cardio day, so we're gonna go to cycle class.
04:02 - Muscle mommies for sure.
04:03 [upbeat music]
04:06 - One thing that Hannah and I love is our aura ring.
04:09 - We wear them all the time.
04:10 We used to be like huge fans of like Apple watches,
04:12 but then our agency like texted us
04:14 and like you guys would love aura rings.
04:15 And we love them because they track sleep too,
04:18 which we try to prioritize.
04:19 - So it tracks sleep, your activity level.
04:22 It'll give you a notification if you're sitting too long
04:24 and also your steps.
04:25 And Hannah and I try to get in 10,000 steps a day.
04:27 So we love like health and fitness.
04:29 So this is something that's very important to us.
04:31 We use it every day.
04:32 [upbeat music]
04:34 - We live off caffeine.
04:35 I do a lot of water before I drink caffeine though.
04:38 So I'll drink, and so it helps me.
04:39 40 ounces of water before caffeine in the morning.
04:42 But we have an energy drink and coffee a day.
04:45 - We try to limit it.
04:48 - Limit it, we do.
04:48 But seriously, caffeine is what keeps us going.
04:51 Especially before a workout too.
04:53 We either do pre-workout or an energy drink
04:55 because like if you're in the gym,
04:56 you got some good like caffeine,
04:58 you're buzzing, feeling good music.
05:01 Telling you guys, but yeah, Bucked Up, this one's good.
05:03 [upbeat music]
05:06 Music, beats, a requirement.
05:10 Guys, it's an essential.
05:11 I think music is such a good outlet.
05:13 Like I realize it.
05:14 My favorite artist right now, I love like a wide range.
05:17 I love Rod Wave, like Rod Wave 24/7 right now.
05:19 But also Morgan Wallen, start the day off.
05:22 I'm a country girl, but I love Taylor Swift.
05:24 I just recently joined the Swifty crew.
05:27 I understand the hype.
05:28 We're cooking, we're playing music.
05:29 We're working out, we're playing music.
05:30 Pickleball, playing music.
05:31 So it's always there.
05:33 It's always gonna be there.
05:34 We love it.
05:34 [upbeat music]
05:37 Hydration, hydration you guys.
05:39 We definitely love our Stanley cups.
05:41 They were a graduation present.
05:43 And I think that we fill this up constantly.
05:45 It's a reminder.
05:46 We try to drink three of these a day, 40 ounces.
05:49 And if we're not drinking water, we love soul juice.
05:51 We try to stay away from like a bunch of ingredients,
05:53 added sugars and stuff.
05:54 And soul juice has only three.
05:56 It's Korean pear, lemon juice and water.
05:59 So we like minimal ingredients.
06:01 This is one of our faves.
06:02 - Yeah, and it doesn't hurt our guts.
06:03 Like sometimes when I do like a lot of fake sugar
06:05 or like dyes and stuff, they tend to upset my stomach,
06:08 but we're very into what we put into our bodies.
06:10 Like we said, this is a great alternative,
06:12 great flavor and it's not too much.
06:14 And you can put it into like a little wine glass.
06:16 We'll like do a little wine glass
06:17 'cause we won't drink during the week.
06:18 And then we'll put it in the wine glass and like cheers.
06:20 - Yeah.
06:21 - And it's just a great little bubbly.
06:22 [upbeat music]
06:25 Thank you, GQ.
06:26 We hope you got to learn a little bit more about us
06:28 through our essentials.
06:29 See you next time. - See you later.
