00:02 - Hello and welcome to Latest TV News.
00:13 My name is Jacob Pannins,
00:14 I'm a reporter for Sussex World,
00:16 and I'm gonna be speaking with sports reporter Sam Morton
00:19 about Brighton & Hove Albion's first loss of the season.
00:22 But first, here are your top stories from across the county.
00:25 (upbeat music)
00:29 - Hastings Pride took place on the seafront
00:31 over the weekend.
00:33 The colorful annual event,
00:34 which happened on Sunday, August 27th,
00:36 saw a large procession make its way from the stand
00:39 in the Old Town along the seafront to the Oval,
00:41 where people enjoyed an afternoon
00:43 of music and entertainment.
00:45 The event enjoyed sunny weather
00:46 and was only affected by a short downpour
00:48 in the late afternoon.
00:50 A suspect will appear in court
00:51 charged with attempted murder
00:53 after a serious collision in Brighton
00:55 left a young woman fighting for her life in hospital,
00:58 according to police.
00:59 Police said emergency services were called
01:01 to Whitehawk Crescent at around 6 a.m.
01:04 on Saturday, August 19th,
01:06 to a report of a 24-year-old woman being hit by a vehicle.
01:09 Officers said she was taken to hospital
01:12 and Fahadah Uddin, 26, of Lanthansway, London,
01:16 was arrested and subsequently charged
01:18 with attempted murder and two counts of common assault
01:20 of an emergency worker.
01:22 Uddin appeared before Brighton Magistrates' Court
01:25 on Tuesday, August 22nd,
01:27 and was remanded in custody to next appear
01:29 before a Crown Court to be fixed.
01:31 On September 19th, police added.
01:33 Two Hastings men were arrested
01:35 after vehicles crashed into two shops in Priory Road
01:38 during the early hours of Saturday morning.
01:40 On August 26th, the vehicles, one a large Range Rover,
01:43 caused extensive damage to two shops
01:45 that are next door to each other.
01:47 No one at the premises were hurt.
01:49 The road was closed for some time on Saturday morning,
01:52 while vehicles were removed.
01:54 Both men have been bailed pending further inquiries.
01:57 East Bumbury Council's Planning Committee
01:58 has approved three applications
02:00 seeking to develop Site 7A in Sovereign Harbour,
02:03 which is a strip of land between Pacific Drive
02:06 and Pennsy Bay Road.
02:08 Between them, the three applications
02:10 had been seeking permission to build a 66-bed care home,
02:13 a building containing 57 retirement living apartments,
02:16 and a new Aldi supermarket.
02:19 All three schemes, and particularly the Aldi proposals,
02:22 have proven to be controversial among local residents
02:25 with more than 700 objections submitted
02:27 across the separate applications.
02:30 Objectors were particularly concerned
02:32 about the potential highway impact,
02:33 arguing the development would increase traffic
02:36 and create an unacceptable level of congestion.
02:39 To counteract this, objectors argued for all three sites
02:43 to be accessed via Pennsy Bay Road,
02:45 rather than Pacific Drive.
02:47 However, this concern was not shared by East Sussex Highways,
02:50 which has not raised any objections to the proposals
02:53 and deemed the proposed access arrangements to be suitable.
02:56 A date has been announced
02:57 for when the physical dismantling
02:59 of the Royal Sovereign Lighthouse
03:00 off the coast of East Sussex will start.
03:02 On Wednesday, August 23rd,
03:04 a spokesperson from Trinity House,
03:06 which built the lighthouse,
03:07 said it's currently in the mobilisation phase
03:10 and will then move to the preparatory phase,
03:12 which will include physical works short of dismantling.
03:15 The physical dismantling of the lighthouse
03:17 is expected to commence around the third week in September,
03:20 depending on the weather.
03:22 Four beaches in East Sussex have been named
03:24 in the top 20 to visit in England this summer.
03:27 The team at Sixt has collated a list
03:29 of the top 300 beaches in England from TripAdvisor
03:32 and ranked them based on several factors
03:34 to uncover the best beaches to visit this summer.
03:38 Factors include water quality, visitor ratings,
03:41 the number of cafes and car parks within 400 metres,
03:44 and whether there's a lifeguard and on-site toilet.
03:47 The study says Seaford Bay in East Sussex
03:49 is ninth on the list with an excellent water quality,
03:52 a 4.5 out of five TripAdvisor ratings,
03:54 two nearby cafes, three nearby places to park,
03:58 and an overall rating of 7.45 out of 10.
04:02 Brighton Central Beach is 10th on the list,
04:04 Bexhill Beach is 15th on the list,
04:06 and Canberra Sands in East Sussex
04:08 is also joint 15th on the list with a rating of 7.32.
04:13 A traditional fishing boat that was on display in Hastings
04:15 has been demolished after it was said to be unsafe.
04:18 The RX134 Stacey Marie was on display
04:21 opposite the Dolphin Pub in Rockanory Road
04:24 in Hastings Old Town, close to the fishing beach.
04:27 The clinker-built boat would have been used
04:29 for trawling for place in Dover Soul along Rye Bay.
04:33 D-Day White, who was involved in clearing the site,
04:36 said the boat was rotting very badly from the inside out.
04:39 Concerns had been raised about the risk
04:41 to children on the boat.
04:42 GCSE results came out on Thursday, August 24th,
04:46 and for all the latest on that from across the county,
04:48 please visit Sussex World online.
04:51 Now let's hear from sports reporter Sam Morton
04:54 as he brings us all the latest news
04:55 from Brighton and Hove Albion.
04:57 (upbeat music)
05:00 So I've got sports reporter Sam Morton with me here,
05:04 and we're gonna be talking a bit more
05:06 about the latest from Brighton and Hove Albion.
05:07 So Sam, it looks like Brighton have finally got
05:10 their Moyse's Kaisele replacement.
05:12 - Yes, finally, it looks like they're gonna be signing
05:14 Carlos Boliba from Lille, a 19-year-old midfielder
05:18 who has got high potential and there's plenty of excitement
05:21 around the club for what he can do.
05:23 Obviously, he's got big boots to fill,
05:25 the Moyse's Kaisele, who obviously made
05:27 a huge impression at Brighton.
05:30 He's obviously gone to Chelsea for 115 million pounds,
05:33 so that kind of says it all, really.
05:36 Big shoes to fill, and hopefully he can do it.
05:38 I mean, there's plenty of confidence that he will do that
05:40 from Lille, obviously a League One side.
05:43 One of the first names on the team sheet,
05:44 and really did make a big impression over in France.
05:48 And he's a Cameroon international as well.
05:51 And he's been likened to kind of Pogba and Dubois.
05:54 I think those were his idols growing up,
05:57 that kind of composed on the ball, play out from the back.
06:00 And I think he'll really fit in, certainly,
06:02 and well to do it, so he'll be a start of play.
06:04 So yeah, it'll be interesting to see how he gets on,
06:06 but you can trust that Brighton know what they're doing
06:08 when it comes to the transfer market.
06:10 And it may only be one or two years
06:12 before he's linked with some big clubs as well.
06:16 I mean, obviously we've seen that so often with Brighton,
06:18 they pick these players up from relative obscurity
06:21 and they become huge names
06:23 and bring in massive transfer fees.
06:25 So yeah, hopefully it'll be another one
06:26 that can do really well for Brighton.
06:29 - Yeah, it feels like that.
06:30 We were obviously talking about that before the show,
06:32 you know, Brighton have signed so many players
06:34 over the years, and although we maybe don't know
06:36 as much as we could do about a Premier League player,
06:39 we're kind of assuming he's gonna hit the ground running
06:41 knowing Brighton's history with transfers.
06:43 - Exactly, yeah, they've done this so often.
06:45 Obviously you've had Quesado, Matoma,
06:48 even Ferguson up front as well.
06:50 I mean, it just happens so often
06:52 where Brighton seem to sign these players
06:54 and they make a huge impression,
06:56 they impress everyone at the club
06:58 and they go on to sign for huge clubs
07:03 for massive transfer fees.
07:04 And then it seems that hopefully it could be another one.
07:07 So we'll see, we'll see how it goes.
07:09 - Obviously we've got the transfer window
07:10 closing on Friday.
07:12 Do you see any more activity on Brighton's end
07:14 before the deadline?
07:15 - So there's been some talks today
07:17 about Bayer Leverkusen's forward Amine...
07:20 Oh, God.
07:21 - Is that right?
07:22 Amir-D?
07:23 - Amine Adler, Amine Adler, yeah.
07:24 - It's a difficult name to pronounce, but yeah.
07:26 The French winger and forward from Bayer Leverkusen.
07:29 - Yeah, should start that bit again.
07:30 - Yeah, we can start that bit again.
07:31 - Start that bit again.
07:32 - No worries, but even if you stumble over it.
07:33 - Yeah, yeah.
07:34 - Okay.
07:35 So obviously we've got the transfer deadline day
07:37 coming on Friday.
07:39 Do you see any ins, any outs with Brighton before that day?
07:42 - There's been some talk about Bayer Leverkusen's forward
07:45 Amine Adler, who's a French forward,
07:47 could play up front or on the left.
07:49 He's 23 years old, so another young player
07:53 that can really improve their career,
07:56 can develop at the club.
07:58 And Brighton obviously have a great history of that.
07:59 So yeah, another exciting name.
08:01 I think there's some excitement from the fans
08:02 about that one, and it'd be interesting to see
08:05 if that happens, how that goes with the talks,
08:08 obviously the deadline coming up on Friday at 11pm.
08:11 It'd be interesting to see how quick that deal can be done.
08:13 But yeah, another exciting talent that could potentially
08:15 bolster Brighton's attacking ranks, really.
08:18 - And obviously, if you were Roberto de Zerbi,
08:21 ahead of Friday, what sort of areas are you gonna be looking
08:24 to improve, do you think?
08:26 - I think with Carlos Bolivar, that really covers
08:29 one key area that they were missing.
08:30 I think in the previous game, obviously against West Ham,
08:33 you could definitely see that they missed Caicedo
08:35 to protect the defence.
08:36 Obviously he had lots and lots of possession,
08:39 but I felt like last season, there was always that danger
08:41 that he'd be hit on the break, and Caicedo was that
08:44 protection that they could fall back on.
08:47 And I think they definitely did miss that against West Ham,
08:49 and I think Bolivar could hopefully be that.
08:51 So I think with him, they've really solved that problem.
08:54 But I think, yeah, you can never have too many players,
08:57 I think, obviously playing in Europe.
08:58 So I think if they do bring in another attacker,
09:02 like Adli, that could really make a difference.
09:05 Again, we can make an extra option going forward, really.
09:10 So we'll see, we'll see how that progresses.
09:14 - And Brighton are a team who've got quite a lot
09:16 of young players as well.
09:17 Do you see any of them going out on loan,
09:18 or would you like to see any of those young guys
09:21 go out on loan?
09:22 - So I think the injury in Caicedo probably scuffed a loan
09:25 for Buenadette.
09:26 That was a shame, 'cause I think it would've been good
09:29 to see him playing week in, week out.
09:31 But it gives him a chance, it gives him a chance
09:33 to maybe get more game time.
09:35 So yeah, I think maybe we'll see him,
09:36 we could maybe see him go out on loan,
09:38 but time will tell, I guess.
09:40 Hopefully, Caicedo's not out for too long,
09:42 'cause obviously he was amazing against Wolves,
09:44 with a couple of great assists.
09:45 So it'd be great to have him back as soon as possible.
09:48 - And obviously looking ahead past the transfer window,
09:51 like you said, and Caicedo's been injured,
09:52 do you know how long he might be out for at this point?
09:55 - I think it's probably months rather than weeks,
09:58 I think, as it stands.
09:59 But fingers crossed, fingers crossed it's not too bad,
10:02 and we can see him in a couple of months, hopefully.
10:06 It seems it's something he did in training,
10:08 so it's always a risky one, isn't it?
10:10 You don't know how he's done it,
10:10 if it's an impact injury or a muscle thing.
10:14 So yeah, we'll see, we'll see how it goes.
10:16 But yeah, I think Brighton have obviously got a lot of depth
10:18 to deal with it, as we saw against West Ham,
10:20 with the subs coming on,
10:22 and almost helping Brighton Man to come back.
10:25 So it definitely helps that they have,
10:26 and we saw it against Luton as well,
10:27 when they brought on all the big names
10:29 towards the end of the game,
10:30 and they just took the game beyond Luton.
10:32 That can definitely be of support to them this season,
10:35 and something they probably didn't have last season
10:38 was that strength and depth.
10:40 But going into the Europa League,
10:41 they're gonna need that,
10:42 they're gonna need to rotate the squad as much as possible.
10:44 - Well, that's everything from part one.
10:46 Make sure you tune into part two,
10:48 as Sam and I will be discussing
10:49 Brighton Hove Albion's shock loss against West Ham United,
10:52 as well as their upcoming fixture against Newcastle.
10:55 (upbeat music)
10:58 Welcome back to Latest TV News.
11:05 I've got Sam Morton with me,
11:06 and we're gonna be discussing Brighton's shock,
11:09 3-1 loss at home against West Ham United,
11:12 a team who'd never beaten them
11:13 in the Premier League before Saturday.
11:15 So Sam, we were at that game together,
11:17 what'd you make of it?
11:18 - Yeah, it was a strange one, really,
11:19 'cause obviously we'd seen Brighton
11:20 full of confidence going into the game,
11:22 and beating Luton, and beating Wolves
11:24 in emphatic fashion,
11:26 so you kind of expected maybe they'd continue
11:27 where they left off.
11:29 But they were coming up against a side in West Ham
11:31 who were also in good form,
11:33 they'd just beaten Chelsea 3-1 as well.
11:35 So they were in form, they were confident,
11:38 so I was expecting a high-scoring game.
11:41 I was going for a score draw when we went into it.
11:44 I wasn't expecting what happened, really.
11:46 I think Brighton, obviously, as you'd expect,
11:48 dominated possession, created a few clear-cut chances,
11:52 not too many, but I think there's a couple
11:55 where you'd probably think they could've scored,
11:57 but on the whole, wasn't that many clear-cut chances,
11:59 just a lot of the ball,
12:00 and West Ham defended brilliantly, really.
12:02 They really did throw everything at defending,
12:06 and obviously, we said Alphonse Areola was incredible in goal,
12:08 one of the best games I've seen from him.
12:10 So yeah, kind of everything that seemed to conspire
12:12 against Brighton in that sense,
12:14 and West Ham were so clinical on the counter-attack,
12:16 and they hit them three times,
12:17 and I think Adam Webster didn't have his best of games,
12:21 and he probably was at fault for the three goals, to be fair.
12:26 But yeah, it can happen.
12:28 With a way Brighton play,
12:29 obviously on the front for creating loads of chances,
12:31 there's always that danger that it can be hit on the break,
12:34 and as I mentioned before, Moises Caicedo,
12:38 him not being there was probably an issue,
12:41 not having that kind of protection,
12:42 and De Serbi did make reference to that
12:43 in the press conference.
12:44 He'd lost such a massive player in him,
12:46 McAllister, and even Caldwell as well,
12:49 three massive players that have just gone this summer.
12:51 So it's incredible, really,
12:53 they made such a good, strong start to the season,
12:54 despite such a key part of the team not being there anymore.
12:58 But yeah, I think they'll definitely recover from this.
13:01 We saw last season when they lost to Everton
13:03 in a similar kind of fashion,
13:05 they bounced back with a win over Arsenal
13:07 to pretty much end their title hopes last season.
13:09 So hopefully we'll see something similar
13:11 against Newcastle at the weekend.
13:13 - And do you think 3-1 was a fair result?
13:15 - I think so.
13:16 I think for the way West Ham played,
13:18 they defended brilliantly, they deserved the win.
13:20 To be honest, they were clinical,
13:22 which you couldn't really say about Bryson on the day.
13:24 So I think, yeah, fully deserved.
13:26 David Moyes played a blinder, really,
13:28 kind of perfected the counter-attacking style of play,
13:32 really, and Antonio was brilliant,
13:34 Jarrod Boehm was brilliant.
13:36 The goal that made it 2-0 was incredible, really.
13:40 You thought there was no chance it was gonna end up in goal
13:42 when Antonio had the ball.
13:46 Sorry, I missed that.
13:47 - What was the third goal?
13:48 - Sorry, yeah.
13:50 Sorry, I should start again.
13:51 - Yeah, we'll start again, but yeah, we'll go.
13:53 So what was the last thing I asked?
13:55 Do you think 3-1 was a fair result?
13:57 - Yeah, definitely a fair result, I think.
13:58 West Ham defended brilliantly,
14:00 were able to hit Bryson on the counter-attack,
14:02 but to perfection, really.
14:03 I think David Moyes really had that game plan mastered.
14:06 And you saw, really, in the second goal,
14:07 Benorama on the left-hand side,
14:10 you thought there was no chance
14:11 they were gonna be able to score from the position,
14:12 and he found a brilliant cross out to Antonio.
14:16 So Jarrod Boehm, it was a fantastic finish, fantastic goal.
14:20 It really summed the game up, really,
14:21 that Bryson had the ball, had the chances,
14:23 but West Ham was so dangerous on the counter-attack.
14:26 And it really was game plan well executed for West Ham, really.
14:31 And I think, yeah, fully deserved the three points.
14:33 But Bryson will obviously be disappointed with the way it went.
14:36 I spoke to Bart Verbruggen after the game, the goalkeeper,
14:39 who's making his first appearance in the Premier League.
14:41 And that's an interesting one as well.
14:43 It seems like he's gonna be rotating
14:44 with Jason Steele in goal this season,
14:47 which is not something we see too often.
14:48 Usually you have your first keeper,
14:50 and then you obviously have your backup
14:52 for the cup games, et cetera.
14:53 But yeah, it'll be interesting to see.
14:54 He's obviously gonna have to impress
14:57 to keep his position in the team.
14:59 And if he does so well,
15:00 then he won't be able to be taken out the side.
15:02 So it didn't go to plan for him,
15:03 but I couldn't say he was at fault
15:05 for any of the goals, really.
15:07 All three of them were right in the corner.
15:08 You couldn't really say that he could have saved.
15:10 First one, he had pretty much no hope with.
15:13 He very, very nearly kept it out,
15:15 and it was just an unlucky ricochet
15:16 off Billy Gilmore that ended up falling
15:18 to James Wall-Prouse for the goal.
15:20 So yeah, I don't think you can blame him for the goals.
15:23 But yeah, overall, I think he deserved a win for West Ham.
15:27 - And also looking forward,
15:28 we've got Newcastle on the horizon.
15:30 How do you see that game going?
15:32 - Big game.
15:33 Both of them had losses at the weekend.
15:35 Newcastle will obviously be gutted
15:36 the way they lost against Liverpool.
15:38 Against 10 men, 1-0 up,
15:40 you thought there's no way they can lose from there.
15:41 Loads and loads of chances,
15:43 and were punished by Darwin Nunes at the end there.
15:46 So they'll be licking their wounds
15:48 as well as Brighton after a defeat.
15:50 So I think it makes for a big game,
15:52 big, exciting game where both teams
15:54 will be looking to make amends.
15:56 And yeah, I can see it being a lively one.
15:58 So yeah, looking forward to it.
15:59 - Yeah, I think Brighton might struggle against Newcastle
16:02 'cause we've seen Newcastle under Eddie Howe.
16:04 They can sometimes frustrate their opponents.
16:06 They sit back, they maybe try and waste a bit of time.
16:08 And these are all things we saw from Everton
16:10 when they beat Brighton 5-1,
16:12 and what we saw from West Ham when they beat them 3-1.
16:14 Do you think this is sort of maybe becoming a theme
16:16 where Roberto De Servi seems to be very frustrated
16:18 by managers who are happy to have let their teams
16:21 not have the ball and sit back
16:22 and frustrate the opposition?
16:23 - Yeah, yeah, 100%.
16:24 It's definitely Newcastle's kind of forte, he would say.
16:28 And I think they can definitely take advantage of that.
16:30 So it'd be interesting to see if Carlos Bolivar is signed.
16:33 And I know he's obviously having his medical at the moment.
16:36 So if he can get that over the line
16:38 and in time for the game,
16:39 I think that can make a big impact.
16:40 But it'd be interesting to see
16:41 if he does go straight into the team.
16:43 I think De Servi maybe will stick with his team
16:46 that he's played so far this season.
16:47 So it'd be interesting.
16:48 But yeah, it'd be a huge game up against
16:51 a really strong side in Newcastle
16:52 that in a similar way to Brighton
16:54 will be trying to adjust to playing in Europe
16:56 this season as well.
16:57 So they're gonna have obviously the same issues
16:59 with squad depth.
17:00 I'm not sure Newcastle squad is as strong as Brighton's,
17:04 really, when you consider the substitutes
17:06 that Brighton have now,
17:07 I would say it's probably stronger than Newcastle's.
17:10 The first 11 is obviously fantastic for Newcastle.
17:14 But yeah, and I think really Eddie Howe will be
17:16 looking for a reaction from his side
17:17 after the way they lost the game against Liverpool.
17:20 And it makes for a good game.
17:22 I think both sides will be looking to attack
17:24 and try and get the clinical edge
17:29 they didn't have at the weekend.
17:30 So yeah, we'll see how it goes.
17:32 - And if you were De Servi,
17:33 what changes would you be making to your side
17:35 for that Newcastle game?
17:37 - I would definitely start Gilles Pedro.
17:38 I think he came on and had a big impact at the weekend,
17:42 really kind of helped drive the team forward
17:44 and pick up those little pockets of space.
17:47 I'd like to see him start maybe up front with Evan Ferguson.
17:49 I think he deserves to keep his place.
17:51 He's just, yeah, fantastic.
17:53 Even though he didn't score at the weekend,
17:56 it was Arreola that really was to blame for that, I think,
17:59 because of amazing saves.
18:01 So yeah, I'd like to see those two start front together.
18:03 I would be surprised to see Adam Webster retain his spot.
18:07 As much as I think he can definitely recover,
18:10 I do think he maybe needs to be taken out
18:12 of the firing line a little bit.
18:14 So yeah, I think Van Hecker could maybe step in there.
18:18 So yeah, I think those two maybe could be possible changes.
18:21 And again, I mentioned Boliva.
18:22 Potentially, if he's looking to fill that Caicedo void,
18:26 he might bring him in,
18:28 if it is obviously all sealed by Saturday.
18:31 - Yeah, like you said earlier,
18:32 I think Boliva would be quite good for that Newcastle game,
18:35 because against West Ham,
18:36 it looked like there was an issue with Brighton
18:38 sort of transitioning backwards
18:39 between their defence and midfield.
18:41 There was always that gap that Benrahma, Bowen, Antonio,
18:44 they all filled that gap where usually,
18:47 I think Caicedo would be there bullying them
18:49 and trying to nick the ball off of them.
18:50 And it gave them too much time and gave them too much space.
18:53 Like we saw with the Benrahma goal,
18:54 he kind of got the ball in the corner.
18:56 And I think usually Caicedo would be there
18:57 as a second man marking him.
18:59 And he kind of managed to find a bit of space on his right,
19:01 whip it round to Bowen.
19:02 Yeah, how important do you think
19:03 that holding midfielder role could be for Brighton
19:06 this season, if they're going to be successful
19:07 in both the Europa League and the Premier League as well?
19:09 - 100%. It's such a vital role, really.
19:11 We've seen it at multiple clubs across the league,
19:13 even with Manchester United,
19:15 when they signed Casemiro last season,
19:16 it transformed the season, really.
19:19 And I think for Brighton, it's a similar kind of effect,
19:22 where you have someone that offers that protection,
19:24 play the ball forward,
19:25 and you can allow your attacking players
19:26 to do the rest, almost.
19:28 So yeah, it'll be interesting to see
19:29 if Boliva does start the game against Newcastle,
19:32 'cause you mentioned West Ham really kind of thrived
19:34 from the spaces they found,
19:35 and you can imagine Newcastle would have similar joy.
19:38 Bruno Guimaraes, Isak, Almiron,
19:40 you can imagine there'd be similar kind of issues with that.
19:44 So yeah, definitely interesting,
19:45 but you just wonder if he wants to throw
19:47 a 19-year-old into the firing line straight after signing.
19:52 But I think it would be a good way
19:54 of seeing what he can do.
19:55 So yeah, I would like to see him start,
19:57 if he is at the club by then.
19:59 It'd be interesting to see how he gets on,
20:01 and we can really see how he would potentially fill
20:03 that Quesada role going forward into the season,
20:05 'cause as you say,
20:06 it's such an important position in the pitch.
20:07 - And obviously, Jason Steele
20:08 started the first two games of the season,
20:10 Verbagger made his debut on the Saturday.
20:12 Who do you think will start in between the sticks?
20:14 - I think he might go back with Jason Steele, I think.
20:17 'Cause he started Jason Steele against Luton
20:19 and against Wolves, both of them ended up in wins.
20:21 So I think maybe he might revert to that.
20:24 Or if we could see two and two,
20:27 two games for Steele, two games for Brigham,
20:29 you just don't know.
20:30 That's the thing, it's this very kind of unusual thing
20:33 we're seeing at the moment with the goalkeeper situation,
20:35 which we kind of saw last season as well,
20:37 with Robert Sanchez,
20:39 the first team keeper for much of the season,
20:41 and all of a sudden he was replaced with Jason Steele.
20:43 So De Serbi is quite ruthless in that sense.
20:45 A little bit of Pep Guardiola about him
20:47 when he obviously got rid of Joe Hart pretty ruthlessly.
20:50 So we'll see, we'll see who starts at the weekend.
20:52 I think I would like to see Verborghen get another chance.
20:55 I think he's, yeah, it was a shame to see him
20:58 concede those goals on Saturday.
21:00 And he'll be looking to make up for it
21:03 and to keep a clean sheet if he can.
21:05 But yeah, I wouldn't be surprised to see
21:06 Jason Steele back in net on Saturday.
21:08 - Obviously Jason Steele, he's from the North East.
21:11 He used to play for Sunderland.
21:13 Do you think that'll give him an extra edge
21:15 against the High Pies?
21:16 - Absolutely, yeah, the extra edge.
21:18 I think that'll be on his mind as well
21:19 if he is starting the game.
21:22 He'd really want to win that game.
21:24 I think absolutely that could potentially be
21:26 in Serbi's thinking as well maybe.
21:28 Try and get that fire in him.
21:30 And yeah, I think the Serb obviously being from Italy as well
21:33 would maybe like to face off against an Italian side.
21:36 So yeah, I think definitely as a fan,
21:39 I think they'd be looking for the biggest names possible
21:42 and to really make a statement.
21:43 - Definitely.
