00:06 I'm Arthur France, the founder of the first West Indian Carnival in Europe.
00:17 West Indian Carnival was the first live-body home of the first West Indian Carnival in Europe.
00:25 So they need to understand, London comes behind Leeds.
00:29 And Leeds is the only authentic Caribbean carnival in Europe.
00:35 And we make sure we keep it that way.
00:37 And you can see for yourself, after the pandemic, everybody want to come to Leeds.
00:42 If you want to see a real carnival, you come to Leeds.
00:45 If you want to see a jamboree or something else, you go elsewhere.
00:49 What's special about this year's carnival?
00:52 It's people being all attentive after the pandemic.
00:57 And so people want to come back out to show people that the whole thing is still alive.
01:02 And that's what it's all about.
01:04 Yes, we start 1967 and we're running it from 1967 right up until now.
01:15 And we're keeping it going.
01:17 Because in the memory of our forefathers, to make sure that they live their lives in vain.
01:22 That's what it's all about.
01:24 And this is all for young and old?
01:26 For everybody. It's very inclusive.
01:28 As you can see for yourself, everyone come and enjoy yourself.
