00:00 Hello and thanks for watching. I'm Jack with London World but today I ventured
00:05 out of London to Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival. Every year thousands of
00:10 Londoners flock up to the Scottish capital to showcase their creative
00:13 skills and with so many genres on offer the Fringe is best known for its stand-up
00:18 comedy and as the festival draws to a close awards are set to be handed out.
00:22 For best show the options are endless but we've put together a shortlist of
00:27 some of our favourites. Pierre Nuvelli Why Are You Laughing is a fan favourite
00:31 this year. The show talks about labels and autism and brings in rolls of laughter
00:36 from start to finish and could definitely be a favourite to win this
00:38 year. And then we have Janine Haruni who is eight months pregnant and doing a
00:43 Fringe show about life and death and the audience are absolutely loving this show
00:47 but the comics have also been blown away with lots of praise coming from fellow
00:51 comedians. And finally Julia Masley's Late Night Clown Show is the final one
00:56 on our shortlist, an hour of utter madness really and that has been selling
00:59 out almost every night and definitely a favourite as well. Now another famous
01:04 award in Edinburgh is for best newcomer, an award for someone to watch during
01:07 their first hour and making a big impression on the comedy scene and this
01:11 year the favourite is probably Dan Tiernan who won BBC New Comedian of the
01:15 Year last year. His debut hour has been met with incredible reviews. Other
01:21 favourites include Lorna Rose and London-based comedian Paddy Young. Head to
01:25 LondonWorld.com for more about the fringe.
