00:00 what he was at UTSA.
00:02 I don't necessarily watch too much Bama film
00:05 about Pete Golding.
00:06 Other than trying to look for some schemes
00:12 that might be brought over.
00:14 As far as the way he's going to coach defense
00:17 and the way he wants them to play,
00:19 I think that UTSA defense will be a nice indicator
00:24 of what he wants to do.
00:27 Extremely aggressive, and we heard that over the weekend.
00:30 The one thing that's popping out is that
00:33 our second thing is defensive end is a strength.
00:35 Apparently Cedric Johnson and Jared Ivey both had a day.
00:39 Now, was that Jalen Williams?
00:41 Was that Micah Pettis?
00:43 I do not know.
00:44 I do know that these are two good football players.
00:47 And then you have Isaac Ukwu,
00:48 and Ole Miss has a nice strength developing
00:51 at defensive end.
00:52 And that is something that we should all be thankful for
00:56 because on third and sixth and longer,
00:59 the defense has a chance to look like those
01:01 Alabama defenses have looked in third and long.
01:04 Where whenever you play most teams,
01:07 you have two seconds worth of pass probe
01:10 to get rid of the football.
01:11 Against Alabama, it's 1.5 or less.
01:13 Maybe this defense can speed that clock up,
01:16 speed up decisions, force turnovers.
01:19 We'll see exactly what happens with that.
01:24 It's honestly a really good situation for Ole Miss football.
01:28 And if you notice, number one and number two,
01:31 they're both defensive stories.
01:33 And I think number three is a defensive story as well
01:36 because the front seven for Ole Miss's defense
01:38 is going to be the strength of the defense.
01:43 Now you have players back in the back,
01:46 and I want to see a little bit longer in spring
01:49 and fall camp to develop chemistry and cohesion
01:54 in that back seven.
01:56 But the front seven's kind of where you want them to be.
02:01 And that's, you know, we talk about Cedric Johnson
02:04 and Jared Ivey and Isaac Ukwu.
02:06 And then you have inside, you have JJ Pegues and Stephon Winn.
02:10 I think J'mon Gordon is playing out
02:12 at defensive end as well.
02:14 You have Joshua Harris, you have Zabion Harris.
02:19 You have bodies everywhere that have played the position
02:22 pretty consistently and played it pretty well.
02:24 We have a lot of players on defense
02:27 that have played FBS football,
02:29 not just so-so football, FBS football,
02:33 like Stephon Winn is from Nebraska.
02:35 You know, Isaac Ukwu is used to punching above his weight.
02:41 He played at James Madison.
02:43 Akello Stone, who you don't hear much about
02:45 on the defensive line, came from Georgia Tech.
