00:00 >> Well, tell me about your journey here in Washington.
00:01 You come in without a scholarship, come from a small school,
00:05 got a viral video out there and chasing a deer up the field.
00:08 But you're playing a lot.
00:10 Talk about that.
00:11 >> Yeah, so came in as a walk on with the previous staff from a small school,
00:16 from a small island in the middle of nowhere.
00:19 And I'm just really grateful for it.
00:22 I'm just trying to make the most out of an opportunity.
00:25 I have this opportunity to wear this purple and gold and
00:27 I've wanted to do this my whole life.
00:29 So I'm just making the most of it.
00:31 And thanks to Coach Morrell and all the other coaches,
00:34 give me the opportunity and I'm having a blast.
00:37 >> You know, they went out and got a whole bunch of new defensive backs too and
00:40 you're still in the mix.
00:41 I see you out there still in prime time,
00:44 playing when it's not down to the third and the fourth unit.
00:47 What are you doing to earn their respect, I guess?
00:50 >> It's just constant work.
00:53 You constantly have to be proving yourself.
00:55 You constantly have to be working.
00:58 It's really just the film shows it.
01:00 So if you put it on tape, then they'll put you on the field.
01:03 Despite whether or not you're a scholarship player or a walk on,
01:06 that's really what it boils down to.
01:08 >> Does that scholarship mean anything to you?
01:10 >> It would be nice, but no, I'm just making the most out of an opportunity.
01:15 If I'm gonna give my degree, I might as well go around and run around and
01:18 hit people and have a blast when I'm doing it.
01:20 >> Do your teammates know about the deer video?
01:23 >> Yeah, they do.
01:24 They do.
01:25 >> Some of the reactions or what?
01:26 >> No, they got some great reactions to it.
01:29 It's pretty funny.
01:29 Actually, the other day, a few of them didn't know about it.
01:32 So one of the coaches pulled it up on their phone and
01:35 it's always funny to see their reactions.
01:37 >> What was the typical comment?
01:39 >> It's usually like, did they stop the game?
01:42 They're always concerned about what did they do with the deer?
01:44 And I was like, they just let us play.
01:46 They just let us play and I just ran after the deer, so it worked.
01:51 >> What's a moment for you in a game so far in your Husky career?
01:55 You have a moment on the field where you hit somebody or covered somebody or
01:57 did something?
01:59 >> I think one of my first games, Portland State here, was just a fun one.
02:06 I was playing with my friends.
02:07 I had fun.
02:09 I had three or four tackles.
02:11 And that was the first time I really felt like I was like, okay, I'm here.
02:14 I'm playing.
02:16 I'm just grateful for it.
02:19 Yeah.
