00:02 - One of the issues with the sea
00:05 is that it's out of sight, out of mind
00:08 in terms of what is happening beneath the surface of the sea.
00:11 It's absolutely essential
00:14 for the functioning of all ecosystems.
00:16 And we treat it like a trash pit.
00:18 You know, we extracted most of the fish out of it.
00:23 We dumped sewage in it.
00:24 We dredged the sea bottom.
00:26 We treat it with such disrespect,
00:28 forgetting how important it is for all of our survival.
00:32 If we were to look ahead,
00:34 the ideal would be that we manage things differently.
00:37 And with good science, we try to recover fish stocks.
00:43 And sustainability is at the forefront of everything.
