00:00 >> We'll start with your thoughts four days in the camp.
00:03 How you guys looking?
00:04 Impression?
00:06 >> Everybody looking good.
00:07 Just getting back to the swing of things.
00:09 Day four, we just gotta keep getting better, just keep running.
00:14 >> Many guys are ramping things up, pads on,
00:16 running a little bit more high intensity scrimmages like that.
00:19 What do you feel like you're kind of getting into the swing of things like you
00:21 said, but specifically?
00:23 >> Just getting back to the use of the hitting.
00:26 I mean, we've been doing a lot of walkthroughs, a lot of pass fits,
00:30 but just being able to hit somebody, it's a little different.
00:34 You want to walk through not the same way, you might have to speed it up, or
00:37 certain hooks might not be the same as you want to walk through to get your camera.
00:41 >> You feel like you're kind of like a Knicks man up attitude for
00:44 yourself this year.
00:45 And so what kind of things did you do over the summer to prepare for this?
00:49 >> I believe all that Knicks man up mentality.
00:54 Last year was kind of like that, I learned from the boys,
00:57 that we're gonna speed it up.
00:58 But I feel like coach put us in our position and we gotta keep going.
01:06 >> With some new faces and some different things going on,
01:08 what's kind of the approach going into camp these next few weeks?
01:12 >> Just trust in the process.
01:15 We got the team and the guys that make it far, we have a good running sheet.
01:21 So just trust in the process, we do that, we pick up the ball.
01:26 >> How comfortable would you say both yourself and
01:29 this position group is in this new defensive scheme?
01:32 >> I feel like we're really comfortable,
01:33 cuz I have a position, our position to be able to make plays.
01:36 So as long as we take what we learned inside of me, we're gonna fight on the field.
01:42 >> And how would you describe the overall role of the inside linebackers in this
01:47 defense?
01:47 >> Just being off the line, making sure, based on where we just get off,
01:52 that's the main thing about the defense,
01:56 it's a lot of watch where you line with the suit and get off the field.
01:59 >> How much different is it from the previous scheme?
02:01 >> From the previous scheme, it was kind of like we had our main gaps, but
02:05 now it's like we got different fronts and stuff.
02:08 We might have to be off the field again, so we might have that same gap.
02:11 >> So it's more so just the read and react type thing?
02:13 >> Yeah.
02:14 >> You're a Georgia guy, right?
02:16 >> Which would mean to be going home first game, playing on the first day of
02:19 defense game.
02:20 It's always good to go back home, cuz a lot of my family come watch the season
02:23 before, being off the field, a lot of times they can't come, but
02:26 it's just being back home, how that home is doing, and just making my career better.
02:31 >> Got a lot of ticket requests?
02:32 >> Yeah.
02:33 >> [LAUGH] >> What's it like playing for
02:35 Coach Ivey and just dealing with him day to day, and
02:39 having to really be on you guys as much as it seems like he is?
02:42 >> Yeah, Coach Ivey, he wants to stay on you, cuz he just wants the best out of
02:45 everybody, he wants the best out of this nation.
02:48 He just wants to be the best position we've got on the field, and
02:52 I feel like as long as he keeps staying on this field, we'll do what we want.
02:57 >> Even though he wasn't your position coach last year,
02:59 does the transition to this scheme kinda help a little bit,
03:01 knowing that you're being coached under someone who was here last season?
03:05 >> Just Coach Ivey being here last season, I feel like he helped us a lot,
03:08 cuz when he did, when we did get that phone call, he told us that Coach Ivey
03:11 was gonna be here, cuz we thought we could move around with somebody that's there.
03:14 So.
03:15 [BLANK_AUDIO]
03:18 >> That's cool.
