00:00 Three days into practice, your thoughts on how your wide receiver groups come together?
00:04 >> Well, I think they did a really good job this summer with Coach Reno.
00:08 Getting in shape, they're bigger and they're a little quicker.
00:12 They're definitely, their bodies look different.
00:15 And they've done a good job learning the playbook.
00:18 We have a really complex offense we take pride in.
00:22 There's a lot of stuff they have to learn.
00:24 And they've done a good job studying and
00:26 preparing themselves to get into training camp and get ready to go.
00:30 >> Seems like we've seen multiple guys making some impressive catches.
00:33 Does that make your job, the coach's job tougher when it gets closer to the end of
00:37 the fall camp to make a depth shot?
00:38 >> I don't know, I'm not really worried about that.
00:40 It's always, actually, it's better when you have a lot of good players
00:46 than it is when you only have one or two.
00:49 That's what recruiting's all about.
00:50 You always wanna keep your room deep and have a bunch of guys that can play.
00:54 Cuz when you've been coaching a long time, you know how long the season's gonna be.
00:59 And injuries are gonna happen and things are gonna happen.
01:01 You wanna make sure you got a deep roster.
01:03 I think we got a deep crew.
01:05 >> Back in the spring, you mentioned, Tal, that your guys were more so
01:08 trying to pick up the nuances of the system,
01:11 more so actually trying to compete against each other.
01:13 Now that you have an entire spring and entire summer fall camp starting,
01:16 do you think some of that kind of shifts to more so competition,
01:19 kind of just trying to stand out in fall camp?
01:22 >> Yeah, you should, because you're trying to impress or
01:27 show the coaches what you're capable of.
01:29 So that when we start game planning and we start putting people in position to go
01:34 run certain things and execute certain plays, that we go, at training camp,
01:38 this guy was able to do this over and over again.
01:41 So let's put him in that position.
01:42 So yeah, I think they are trying to make sure that the coaches know that
01:47 this is what I bring to the table.
01:48 So when we start playing and start game planning, we'll know what to do with it.
01:54 >> Chris Bell's a physical guy, he seems like he's using that to his advantage.
01:57 How has he impressed you so far in camp?
01:59 >> Well, he's a wonderful kid.
02:01 He's a very hard worker.
02:04 He cares a lot about what's going on around here and
02:09 his teammates and how he shows up every day and performs.
02:15 Very good athlete, like you said, he's a big and strong kid.
02:18 So we just gotta keep in mind he's still a freshman.
02:21 So he's like the ins and outs, the details and all of that.
02:26 And that's what we're in training camp for.
02:27 We've only practiced three times.
02:29 But I think this guy's a limber person.
02:32 >> Jamari is coming in spring, now summer, now starting fall camp.
02:36 How much have you seen him just progress in learning the system and
02:38 getting comfortable in it?
02:40 >> Yeah, well, he's a hard worker.
02:42 He's a lot of times I come in here on Saturdays and
02:45 he's sitting in the meeting room studying.
02:46 You can tell he's experienced, he's mature.
02:50 He understands how to dig into the computer and pull out what he needs to study.
02:55 But we just gotta keep going.
02:57 I mean, this is a big time player.
03:00 We're gonna need him to come through for us and he's putting the work in.
03:03 >> How do you think the chemistry between the wide receiver room and
03:05 the quarterbacks has looked over the first week of fall camp?
03:08 >> Well, you can tell they did a lot of work in the summertime.
03:10 But when you're in the summer,
03:14 the rules say you can't go and compete against the defense, right?
03:18 So execution, you have to execute R11 against 11 guys on defense and
03:23 the spacing and the splits.
03:25 Somebody put their hands on you, does he push you out of your lane so
03:28 you don't hit your landmarks?
03:30 All of that is what training camp's about,
03:32 is how to execute against physical tough defenses.
03:35 >> How much do you learn about some of these guys, most of these padsmen?
03:40 >> Well, we had a conversation about that today.
03:45 This is the first day of football practice.
03:48 Because football is played with a total pad.
03:51 But you learn a lot.
03:52 You learn who's gonna accept the challenge of playing a contact sport.
03:57 But they all did good.
04:00 They're all tough guys.
04:03 >> What about Kevin, what have you seen from him so far in this particular game?
04:08 >> Yeah, well, he's a very hard worker.
04:12 He's another young kid, but he has a lot of leadership qualities.
04:18 He is a good teammate.
04:19 Because him and Amari are playing both the same position and
04:24 they share that position.
04:25 And they're both really good players and they can sub whenever they want.
04:29 We trust both of them and they take a lot of problems.
04:34 I like Kevin and Amari both.
04:36 I think they're both gonna, they have to have good season for us to do.
04:40 >> Do you get a sense right now that you have options when it comes to
04:44 receiving plenty of options to work with?
04:47 >> Yes.
