00:00 >> Your thoughts on how your group, it's a rebuilt group,
00:02 but you guys have had some time to work together.
00:04 How do you think the thoughts of how you guys are looking?
00:06 >> I feel like all the support we put in this summer is all coming together.
00:10 I can see guys develop more over the summer.
00:12 We got a connection with the quarterbacks, and things are going good.
00:16 >> Coach was just saying that you and Kevin can kind of rotate whenever you feel.
00:20 What's that say about how much confidence they have in you guys?
00:23 >> That says a lot.
00:23 I mean, really the whole six guys, me,
00:28 Jaden, Chris Bill, Jamari Thurash, Kevin, Jimmy.
00:34 All of us can go in when we want to.
00:35 They all feel the same about all of us.
00:37 That's a big thing.
00:39 >> What do you got Jamari adds to this group?
00:42 >> Jamari adds a big time playmaker.
00:44 He's a very experienced guy.
00:47 He knows what football is about.
00:49 He knows where to be at the right time.
00:51 He's just a leader for all of us.
00:53 >> Do you guys get some extra juice when you start getting the pads on and
00:57 actually playing?
00:58 >> Yes, sir.
00:58 Every time you put those pads on, it's always boost you up, just ready to go.
01:03 >> Corners are talking about that iron sharpens iron with you guys.
01:08 But for you, from your perspective,
01:09 what's that like going against guys like Jarvis and Quincy and MJ?
01:14 >> Honestly, I feel like we got the best backs in the ACC.
01:16 So every day, that's a good opportunity for us to go out and get better.
01:20 We're going against, like you say, the two top guys in ACC, so, and
01:24 make us better every day.
01:25 >> Considering you're only one of a couple scholarship returners in this
01:28 wide receiver room,
01:28 have you kind of stepped up in terms of a leadership role when it comes to this
01:31 group?
01:32 >> I would say by myself, I'm not really a very vocal leader, but
01:35 I try to lead by example.
01:36 I try to do everything right.
01:38 I'm gonna lead by example.
01:39 >> What do you see from Chris Bell?
01:40 How has he impressed you out here?
01:42 >> Chris Bell, he grew a lot.
01:43 It's only his third day of practice.
01:44 He's been out all spring.
01:45 He's been making plays.
01:46 He's a big physical guy, a guy we need and counting on this year.
01:50 >> How have you seen yourself evolve as a player since you've been here?
01:55 >> As myself, I should see a guy that stayed down, threw it all,
01:59 ready to shine this year.
02:01 >> And what about your role?
02:03 How has that kind of evolved as well?
02:05 >> I say my role is a big time role.
02:07 I just take in the guys that come in, try to show them around,
02:11 try to be there for them.
02:12 Regardless of anything, just try to stay up.
02:15 Don't let them never see you down.
02:16 Just go out every day and smile at them.
02:19 >> How do you feel that you fit within this offense with what they're trying to
02:23 get done?
02:24 >> Everybody knows Coach Brown has the best offense in the country.
02:27 I mean, we got like 300 plays, man.
02:29 I feel like this is the best offense I've been around.
02:32 >> How much did this spring and summer help you in terms of building a repertoire
02:35 with a plumber and the rest of the quarterbacks?
02:38 >> This was a big summer for me, probably my biggest summer here.
02:40 I mean, every day we was out there with Jack and all those guys just throwing
02:43 the ball, going over plays, sitting in extra meetings with Jack.
02:47 Player-led meetings, going over plays.
02:49 It's a big summer.
02:50 >> Do you think the quarterback wide receiver chemistry is at a good spot
02:53 right now?
02:54 >> Yes, sir, I feel like we got our best right now.
02:56 >> Talk about 300 plays, hard to learn.
02:59 >> Yeah, definitely complicated, but we get it.
03:02 >> How many plays have you learned so far?
03:03 Do you feel like you have a good grasp on the playbook as a whole?
03:07 >> Yeah, that's the thing.
03:08 I say Coach McKee do a good job going in and meetings, breaking everything down.
03:12 I feel like we know everything for good.
03:13 >> Often when coaches take over a program, you hear rebuild, that kind of stuff.
03:18 Coach Brown's pretty up front.
03:19 He wants this team to win now.
03:20 What's that say to you guys when you hear a coach talking like that?
03:23 >> Yeah, that's the first thing he came in.
03:24 He's talking about the ACC championship.
03:26 I'm with him.
03:27 If I was him, I would say the same thing, coming in, I'm already winning now.
03:31 Not later.
03:32 I mean, we got a team to do it this year.
03:34 So it's just all up to us.
03:36 >> Coach says he has a lot of options out wide.
03:39 Does that make sure that each and every one of you are kind of on your
03:43 P's and Q's to make sure that you're producing when your numbers fall?
03:47 >> Yeah, definitely.
03:47 Every time you get an opportunity, you got to make the best of it.
03:49 We have great competition in the world.
03:51 That's the universe.
03:53 A lot of good guys around you, you know that.
03:54 You got to, the chip on your side, like, I can't drop the ball.
03:57 I can't, I can't, but I'll make us better at the end of the day.
04:00 >> Okay.
04:01 >> Thank you.
