00:00 Just outside of Moberly, Missouri, flood warnings continue and the flash flooding event has transitioned to more of a river flooding event.
00:08 The larger bodies of water are definitely still continuing to rise. The larger rivers across the area from northern Missouri down into central Missouri as well.
00:17 Radar indicated 6 to 8 inches of rainfall here in Moberly from a band that extended from southern Iowa across northern Missouri down into the central Missouri area.
00:27 Even extending to the southwest of St. Louis had some flash flood warnings.
00:31 And this flood plain here is completely flooded out. There's a lot of farms as well along these waterways.
00:37 This is Coon Creek just outside of the Moberly, Missouri area and this has some significant flooding with it.
00:44 Thankfully the flooding largely avoided town except for the flash flooding earlier this morning when those green boxes were in effect here.
00:51 But since then we're definitely transitioning to more of a riverine flooding event here.
00:56 And this is before the second round of precipitation has even developed. That's going to happen at about 5 to 6 p.m.
01:02 Some of the short range models are even showing some supercells that could develop around that time along an outflow boundary left behind by earlier convection.
01:10 But I do expect this round of flooding to be even more significant than last night.
01:15 And that's because it's going to impact the urban area down in St. Louis.
01:18 And that's paved, an impermeable surface, largely those areas of concrete and pavement and that's going to make the flash flooding that much worse.
01:26 So definitely have a plan in place and if you do encounter those flooded roadways be sure to turn around and do not drown.
