00:00 Hi I'm Danny Brooks, I'm on endorsements on the high streets in the skate park.
00:09 Now Danny, we're stood next to some splendid looking cakes, some of them are no-go, homemade
00:15 and absolutely delicious. And we're told that football is down, how is business?
00:22 To be fair, business is down, a lot of that's to do with the weather, we've also got the cost of living crisis, people are watching the pennies.
00:32 Now how are businesses responding to that, because one of the councillors has said that they're having to make some tough decisions.
00:43 Yeah, I think businesses have got to adapt to the situation we've adapted by we took all the hot food off, because we can't afford, due to the increase in electricity,
00:54 we can't afford to run the griddles and the ovens and the bain maries all day like we used to do.
01:00 And how have your customers responded to that?
01:03 Well, some were quite upset because we used to do some real nice breakfast and whatever,
01:09 however most understand it, they've seen their own electric bills go up so they can understand how ours has shot up.
01:17 So are you still hopeful for the summer?
01:19 Oh I think the summer will come now, we're just into the six week holidays, people are starting to turn up and yeah I'm hoping for a favourable summer.
