00:00 Hey guys, it's Ash here with WatchMojo and these are the Top 10 One Piece Moments That
00:16 Gave You Chills.
00:31 For this list we'll be looking at the scenes from One Piece so epic that they send shivers
00:35 down your spines and ours.
00:50 Number 10.
00:51 Luffy's Haki Knocks Out Half An Army
00:54 The Straw Hats often get involved in local politics and a coup at Fishman Island sees
00:59 them come into conflict with the new Fishman Pirates.
01:02 The odds are stacked against them with 100,000 pirates facing the 10 Straw Hats, well 9 plus
01:09 one future recruits.
01:13 The enemy leader declares how hopeless it is, even announcing his desire to become king
01:18 of the pirates as well as king of Fishman Island.
01:21 However, he doesn't realise who he's messing with.
01:25 Luffy strolls up through the attacking Fishman Pirates and unleashes a blast of Conqueror's
01:30 Haki so powerful that half the attacking army falls unconscious.
01:43 Luffy's right, there's only room for one Pirate King.
01:47 The visual aid for this argument is so compelling, we get goosebumps.
01:58 Number 9.
01:59 Monkey D. Luffy Takes Down Crocodile
02:01 Monkey D. Luffy's fights with Crocodile are all fantastic, but his final clash with
02:06 the Warlord during another civil war is the one that makes our list.
02:17 The climax of an underground duel between the duo, Luffy inflates himself and sends
02:23 himself rocketing up towards Crocodile to unleash a storm of fists on him.
02:28 And as the classical piece, New World Symphony, plays, Luffy punches his sandy foe through
02:33 bedrock, uprooting buildings and bringing down the hooked crook of a croc at last.
02:42 It's the culmination of the first major saga of the Grand Line, and it's executed
02:52 in a phenomenally epic style, with the punches set in time with the music.
02:57 You know what they say, D always brings a storm.
03:09 Number 8.
03:10 The Walk to Arlong Park
03:12 When Nami's years of slaving away to save her village is undone, and the villagers are
03:17 ready to fight the Arlong pirates on her behalf, she breaks down in despair, tearing at the
03:22 tattoo on her arm.
03:40 Luffy stops her, and Nami finally, tearfully asks for his help.
03:44 Not only does Luffy reply immediately, but he also gives her his precious straw hat,
03:49 his most treasured possession.
04:05 Then with Zoro, Sanji and Usopp, Luffy marches to Arlong Park in an epic moment, as the awesome
04:12 OST heralds their arrival.
04:25 Number 7.
04:26 Jet Gatling
04:27 Luffy's entire fight with Rob Luchy is incredible, but its conclusion still gives us chills.
04:34 Luffy promised Usopp that he won't fall until Luchy is defeated.
04:38 This promise proves difficult to keep after Luchy delivers a devastating Rokugan, however
04:43 Luffy refuses to go down.
04:45 Keeping his feet, Luffy turns and starts punching so fast that his fists disappear.
04:56 And as he recalls all the moments throughout the arc that have led to this one, he unleashes
05:01 his Jet Gatling on Luchy and gives off a primal scream.
05:13 While he's always serious in a fight, even when he's ridiculous, Luffy gives everything
05:18 to this attack and the emotions wrapped in this moment still send shivers down our spines.
05:34 Number 6.
05:35 Roger Laft
05:36 The late pirate king, Goldie Roger, has a mystique about him that makes each scene with
05:41 him something special.
05:43 But they all pale in comparison to the moment we finally see he and his crew arrive on the
05:48 last island of the Grand Line.
05:57 As an enchanting song plays, we find out that when Roger learned the world's true history
06:02 and all its secrets and saw the One Piece, he laughed.
06:06 He and all his men laughed.
06:21 We may not be in on the joke yet, but the moment of discovery, and Roger's decision
06:26 to name the island "Laft Tale", still brings us indescribable joy.
06:30 If the moment Luffy finally arrives there is even half this amazing, we're gonna laugh/cry
06:36 all over again.
06:58 Number 5.
06:59 One Piece is Real
07:00 Let's turn from one legendary pirate to another.
07:03 Edward "Whitebeard" Newgate gives us chills nearly every time he's on screen.
07:08 But his final moments in life are on another level.
07:18 Attacked by Blackbeard and his crew, Whitebeard is dying of his wounds.
07:28 Yet still delivers an epic speech.
07:31 He declares that Blackbeard won't be the one to succeed Roger and that Roger's treasure
07:35 does indeed exist.
07:37 Its discovery will turn the world on its head.
07:49 And as if launching a new age of piracy with his final words wasn't enough, Whitebeard
07:54 follows it up by dying on his feet like the legend he was.
08:03 Whitebeard's treasure was his family, but it's moments like these that are One Piece
08:10 fans' treasures.
08:11 Number 4.
08:12 Raizo is Safe
08:14 Sometimes a twist is so epic it gives you goosebumps.
08:18 For most of their time on Zou, the island on a giant elephant's back, populated by
08:23 animal people called Minx, the Straw Hats are convinced that they should keep their
08:27 samurai friends on the lowdown.
08:40 After all, the beast pirates have ravaged their dukedom, tortured them and nearly poisoned
08:45 them all with chemical weapons in search of a ninja named Raizo.
09:00 But when Kinemon asks where Raizo is, the Minx don't react negatively.
09:05 Instead, they bow and confirm their friend is safe.
09:26 The sheer level of friendship and devotion it takes to endure what they have for Raizo's
09:31 sake is just jaw-dropping.
09:32 Number 3.
09:34 Mary's Rescue
09:35 In the Straw Hats' greatest hour of need, they turn to their most trusted friend.
09:40 Cornered by navy ships at Eni's Lobby and with nowhere to run, Usopp hears a voice.
09:46 Insisting that they trust him, he urges them all to jump into the sea.
09:57 Robin even uses her powers to save Luffy, repaying him for saving her.
10:02 And as the Straw Hats fall, and the music swells to triumphant emotional heights, we
10:14 realise that their brave little ship, the Going Mary, has come to save them.
10:31 Even as damaged as she is, Mary gave it her all to rescue her crew and have one last adventure.
10:41 Number 2.
10:42 Nothing Happened
10:43 When the warlord, Kuma, has most of the crew knocked out, Zoro offers up his own head when
10:49 Kuma threatens to take Luffy's.
10:55 While Sanji offers too, Zoro insists.
10:59 Kuma agrees, but he makes it so that Zoro must take on all the damage and exhaustion
11:04 Luffy has already accumulated, in addition to his own.
11:13 Just a small slither of this pain bubble is enough to make Zoro convulse.
11:18 To make sure they don't see his dead body when they wake, Zoro relocates and immerses
11:23 himself in the bubble.
11:24 The crew wakes up and Sanji finds Zoro covered in blood, but still standing.
11:30 Not wanting to make Luffy feel guilty, Zoro claims that nothing happened.
11:39 Number 1.
11:59 I Want to Live
12:00 The Straw Hats' rescue of Robin at Eni's Lobby is packed with great moments, including
12:05 several on our list.
12:06 But this moment tops them all.
12:09 Confronting CP9 and Robin atop two towers, Robin initially refuses to accept their help,
12:14 as her enemy is the world, and she believes her death can save her friends.
12:25 But then, Luffy has Usopp, er, Sogeking, show her how much she means to them, by burning
12:32 the World Government's flag.
12:45 They're willing to take on the entire world to get her back, but Robin has to want to
12:54 be saved.
12:55 And after being told that she shouldn't be alive her whole life, Robin admits she
13:00 wants to live.
13:02 It's badass, it's epic, it's heartwarming.
13:07 It gives us feels worth living for.
