Northumbria Police are adding hundreds of extra patrols on public transport to stamp out anti social behaviour. Construction work can now start on the Northumberland line to building three new stations. And finally there will be a lot of summer activists in the east end of Newcastle during the summer holidays.

00:11 Funding secured by the Police and Crime Commissioner Kim McGuinness will allow more security staff,
00:15 neighbourhood wardens and visible police patrols.
00:19 There will also be heightened security across the North East's transport hubs.
00:23 Construction work can now start on the Northumberland line to build three new stations.
00:28 The work will begin on Bedlington, Blyth, Bebside and Seaton Delaval stations as work
00:33 to build the line across Northumberland continues.
00:36 And finally, there will be a lot of summer activities in the east end of Newcastle during
00:40 the summer holidays.
00:42 The council announced events across Biker, Walker and Heaton as part of a drive to revitalise
00:46 the high street and bring local people and businesses together.
