Children's charity Blessings in Disguise host a Christmas party for children with disabilities or battling life threatening conditions and their families. The 10th annual Santa in July Christmas party was held at Leigh Masonic Hall.

00:00 Hello, I'm Sharon Sargent. I'm one of the trustees and directors of Blessing in Disguise,
00:04 children's charity. We hold events for children with special needs and learning disabilities and
00:09 all sorts of disabilities. Today we are hosting a Sanctuary in July for children that may be poorly
00:16 at Christmas time and don't get to celebrate Christmas in December. So we host a halfway to
00:21 Christmas event. We've actually been doing this for 10 years now. This year in November will be
00:27 our 10th anniversary and the amount of children that we've helped and supported for such a small
00:32 charity has been amazing. We amaze ourselves every time we do it and people don't believe
00:37 that there's only three full-time staff and the rest are all volunteers and we're just really,
00:42 really grateful to all our volunteers who come and help us all the time. We also host the VIP
00:49 disability funfair events in the early spring time and in autumn times at DW Stadium and this is
00:57 especially an event for two hours for any child with a disability or young adult with a special
01:04 need and they can come and have a rise on the funfair free of charge and all the lights are
01:12 switched on and the music's switched on so that they can enjoy the funfair just like everybody
01:18 else. So we'll be hosting our next one in October so anybody can join as long as they've got a child
01:23 with special need and disability they just need to register and they'll find us on our website
