00:00 There are some that really make you stop in your own tracks to admire just how gorgeous
00:04 they are.
00:05 From horses with unbelievable manes to those with feathers on their legs, and literally
00:10 the Kim Kardashian of horses.
00:12 Here are 25 of the most beautiful horses in the world.
00:16 Make sure you stick around for number 1 if you want to see a real life golden horse.
00:23 Number 25.
00:24 The Frisian These Frisian horses are native to the Netherlands.
00:29 You can easily spot one of these horses in a sea of others by looking at their rich,
00:33 black coat and a thick mane to match.
00:37 But they're not all aesthetics, they're incredibly strong too.
00:41 In medieval times, Frisian horses were the ones that carried the kings and all of their
00:46 belongings.
00:47 They were the carriage horses, and even have a major role in the fact that the agriculture
00:51 in that region flourished the way it did.
00:54 What's crazy about this breed of horses is that even though there's plenty of them today,
00:58 in the 20th century, they almost went extinct.
01:01 They were literally only three of them left.
01:05 But by the time the Second World War ended, the breed had recovered and today, thousands
01:09 of them exist all around the world in all their glory.
01:15 Number 24.
01:16 Marwari Horse The Marwari horse dates back to ancient India,
01:22 specifically Punjab, which is located half in Pakistan and half in India now.
01:27 They've got long, thin legs that just so happen to be very strong too.
01:32 But the feature that really sets them apart are their curved ears.
01:36 These horses have incredible hearing and can be directed to follow a sound far away.
01:42 These were the horses that the royal families in India used to use, and because of the bond
01:46 they formed with their humans, they were treated like part of the family too.
01:50 They even had their own sets of jewelry that they wore every time they were out, acting
01:54 like the cherry on top when it came to their overall beauty.
02:06 Number 23.
02:07 Lipitzan Although the Lipitzan horse is known as the
02:12 National Horse of Slovenia, they weren't actually bred there.
02:16 Instead, these horses come from Austria, specifically from one stud farm in the 16th century that
02:22 created them.
02:24 Today they're the most well-known for being the beautiful light-colored horses used by
02:28 the Spanish Riding School of Vienna, where they learn how to perform advanced classical
02:33 dressage.
02:34 They go through intensive training to get there, and the results of the training are
02:38 immaculate.
02:40 Because these horses are very strong, smart, and athletic, they also participate in almost
02:45 every horse event there is.
02:47 But there's one thing about the Lipitzan horse that most people don't really know,
02:51 it's that even though the fully grown ones we see are light in color, they're born
02:55 fully black.
02:56 They slowly age to their light gray to white coloring by the time they become adults.
03:04 Number 22.
03:05 Arabian Horse The Arabian horse breed is one of the oldest
03:11 breeds to exist today, the first one being seen around 3000 BC.
03:18 These beautiful horses have a distinct head shape which is unlike any other.
03:22 They also have a high tail carriage, making them look very poised and confident too.
03:28 Not only are these horses beautiful on the outside, but on the inside too.
03:32 They're one of the most gentle horse breeds that connects with humans and understands
03:37 commands very well.
03:39 Known to have a major willingness to please, makes them a horse that would do anything
03:43 for its owner.
03:47 Number 21.
03:48 The Knæfesrøper The Knæfesrøper is a beautiful horse breed.
03:55 Their coat closely resembles that of Dalmatian dogs, which is pretty unique in itself.
04:01 This horse breed originated in Denmark in the 19th century and are incredibly intelligent
04:06 horses.
04:07 They're so good at learning commands that they're widely used as circus horses to
04:11 perform highly elaborate stunts.
04:14 Their look is so unique that they were the main horses used in all of the Danish royal
04:19 family ceremonies.
04:20 This is a horse that's truly fit for a king.
04:27 Number 20.
04:28 The Fjord The Fjord horse breed is fairly unique, both
04:34 in the way it's built and its size.
04:37 They're smaller than most horses, but still bigger than ponies, making them look like
04:41 large ponies.
04:43 They've got incredibly strong and muscular necks, and the rest of their bodies follow
04:47 suit.
04:48 These horses originated in Norway hundreds of years ago and are still one of the most
04:53 popular breeds there.
04:54 Mainly used as farm horses, they're known to be very intelligent and can learn patterns
04:59 and responsibilities very quickly.
05:02 Another unique factor about these horses is that they have done coloring, which just gives
05:07 them an angelic look, one that's really special to look at.
05:14 Number 19.
05:15 The Appaloosa The Appaloosa is a horse that you will notice
05:22 if it passes by you, but the beauty of this horse is the fact that each horse is totally
05:27 unique.
05:28 Known for their spotted pattern, these American horses come in all different types of colors
05:32 and combinations.
05:35 Their pattern is unique to them because it's not in one layer, but multiple layers on top
05:40 of each other, each stemming from a different part of its lineage.
05:44 But their coat isn't the only thing that sets them apart, they've also got striped
05:49 hooves.
05:50 They have great footing in mountainous areas, but usually tend to perform best in plain,
05:55 open fields, where they're usually found today.
06:00 Number 18.
06:01 The Brumby While most of the horses we've mentioned
06:07 on this list are specialized breeds, the Brumby isn't.
06:11 These are the wild, free-roaming horses that are found in Australia.
06:15 These are horses you see in movies that are roaming across giant plains, just letting
06:20 their hair down and being free, and they look very beautiful as they do it.
06:25 The Brumbies are also very responsive to training and are known to be able to form deep bonds
06:31 with humans too, and are widely used as animals that work with troubled children.
06:36 They're beautiful and good at heart.
06:41 Number 17.
06:42 The Oldenburg These horses were first bred in the 17th century
06:49 in Germany and have been dominating the horse game ever since.
06:53 The thing that makes these horses the most special is their demeanor.
06:57 They're also known as the most well-behaved horses that have ever existed.
07:02 They have an incredibly pleasing personality.
07:06 They strive to make their owners happy, and they do it with impeccable style.
07:11 They're high jumpers, powerfully built, light on their feet, with thick bones and very high
07:16 stamina.
07:17 These horses could jump around for hours and not get tired.
07:28 Number 16.
07:29 Shetland Pony The first thought that everyone has when they
07:35 see a Shetland Pony is just how cute they are.
07:40 That we can all agree on, and have beautiful, thick, deep coats and a lighter, flowy mane.
07:47 To add to the overall cute factor, they've also got short, alert ears and wide-set eyes.
07:53 But don't let their looks deceive you.
07:55 They're also incredibly intelligent, gentle, and good-tempered.
07:59 They're so smart around people that they're great with very small children too.
08:04 Which is also why we often see these ponies working in commercial settings like fairs
08:08 and other events.
08:15 Number 15.
08:16 Falabella The Falabella is a miniature horse that looks
08:23 like it's not even real.
08:26 At their tallest, they stand at only 32 inches tall, but they generally grow to 28 to 30
08:32 inches.
08:33 Their small size may seem like they're untrainable little animals, but that's far from the truth.
08:38 They're actually highly intelligent and take to humans very well.
08:43 They're very loyal and affectionate, and that makes them very easy to train.
08:47 And seeing them fully trained, jumping over obstacles, is an incredible sight to see indeed.
09:01 Number 14.
09:02 Yakut Horse Even though the common horses are seen in lush
09:09 green fields, the Yakut horses proves that horses can be anywhere and still thrive.
09:15 The Yakut horse is an arctic horse and has a heavy coat and equally thick mane to help
09:20 them stay warm in the harsh weather.
09:23 They look a lot similar to the Shetland ponies, but they're fluffier.
09:27 They have an incredibly docile personality and are very willing to learn.
09:31 Which makes them great horses to use around farms and under saddle and in carriages.
09:36 No matter what these horses are doing, they make this scene look like it's out of a fairy
09:40 tale.
09:43 Number 13.
09:44 The Spanish Norman While most horses are either bred to work
09:50 at farms or provide transport, the Spanish Norman has a very specific reason for existing,
09:56 because of how good it is at sports.
09:59 This is an incredibly agile horse and can kind of do anything they put their mind to.
10:04 Whether it's jumping through elaborate obstacles or performing any other type of agility tricks,
10:09 they can do it all with insanely impressive poise.
10:16 Number 12.
10:17 The Catria Even though the Catria is mainly found in
10:23 the Monte Catria in the Marche region of Italy, no one really knows where they originated
10:29 from, but it's commonly thought that they're from somewhere in North Africa.
10:33 These horses have very strong builds and because most of them are still found in the wild,
10:38 that strength comes in handy.
10:39 They spend most of their time frolicking around in the wild.
10:42 And that's what they're the most well-known for, being beautiful horses that really represent
10:48 being free.
10:51 Number 11.
10:52 The Comtois When you think of strong, majestic horses,
10:59 the Comtois is the horse that comes to mind.
11:02 These thick boys are one of the strongest horses in the world and they look like it
11:07 too.
11:08 Their thick bones and muscular build helps them look fabulous while they're at work,
11:13 and they've always looked like that.
11:15 Literally, these horses are ancient.
11:17 They were first brought to France by the Germanic Burgundian tribe in the 4th century and have
11:22 been used ever since to hold the heaviest of cargo, like artillery supplies for the
11:27 militaries of the different times.
11:28 Today, they're still used as the key horses to carry heavy cargo, and they still manage
11:34 to look amazing while they lug everything around.
11:38 Number 10.
11:46 The Morgan While some horses are great because of the
11:53 way they're built, others are special because of the way they are, like Morgan's.
11:58 Their lean bodies and regal posture sets them apart from most other horses, but they also
12:03 have one distinct quality.
12:05 They imprint on their humans.
12:08 Morgans are the type of horses that pick their humans, and once they do, they'll do anything
12:12 for them.
12:13 They have an eagerness to please humans, and that combined with their overall look makes
12:18 them one of the most popular horses that have ever existed.
12:25 Number 9.
12:30 The Menorquin The Menorquin horse comes from Menorca, Spain,
12:33 and is a horse that you might have seen even if you're not a major horse person.
12:38 These horses are usually associated with the riding style called "ma menorquina", also
12:42 known as Menorcan Dressage.
12:45 Their specific build allows them to have a lot of added suspension, so the rider barely
12:50 feels like they're on a horse.
12:53 These horses only come in a variation of all black everything, so they pretty much look
12:58 like glistening shadows galloping on the ground.
13:01 A smooth horse, both in terms of its look and the ride.
13:08 Number 8.
13:09 The Shire When it comes to massive horses, the Shire
13:16 is the largest breed of horses that has ever been.
13:19 They stand at 173 cm tall and can weigh up to 2,000 lbs.
13:26 They've got what we call a "coarse build".
13:29 The hair on their legs is also different from that of most of the other horses.
13:33 It's so different that it's literally called feathers.
13:37 The feathers kind of cover their hooves and add to a very unique look, one that almost
13:42 no other horse has.
13:48 Number 7.
13:49 The Hanoverian The Hanoverian horses are inarguably one of
13:56 the most sleek and beautiful horse breeds that ever exist around the world.
14:01 Their powerful muscular bodies are covered with a gorgeous shiny coat, and their legs
14:05 allow them to be one of the most agile horses that have ever existed.
14:10 They used to be carriage horses in the past, but now are general riding horses instead.
14:16 They're known as bold, sensible horses that are incredibly disciplined, making them a
14:21 great horse to ride.
14:26 Number 6.
14:27 A Dutch Warmblood The Dutch Warmblood is a fairly new breed
14:33 of horses.
14:34 They're a mix of the Gelderlander and the Groningen, and the breeders that made these
14:39 made them to create the perfect horse.
14:42 The Dutch Warmblood inherited the characteristics of both the breeds and ended up being very
14:46 athletic horses.
14:48 They have great, sloping shoulders with long legs that let them achieve longer strides
14:53 than most horses, and their long necks and confident posture just makes them look like
14:58 the perfect horse they were bred to be.
15:03 Number 5.
15:04 The Mustang The Mustang horses are one of a kind.
15:11 Their name literally translates to "wild, masterless cattle" because the first of these
15:15 horses escaped into the wild and multiplied, and today they roam freely across the grasslands
15:21 of the US, being free and fabulous.
15:24 If you want to look at horses in their rawest form, these are the ones for you.
15:29 Watching them gallop across the fields is so satisfying that there are actual helicopter
15:33 tours that overlook the horses in their natural habitat.
15:39 Number 4.
15:45 The Andalusian The Andalusian is a Spanish horse dating back
15:47 to the 15th century.
15:49 Its breeding has been so limited and controlled that the horses today look exactly like they
15:54 did back in the 15th century.
15:57 These horses are strong with long, lean legs, but that's not what makes them so special.
16:02 Their specialty is their thick, beautiful mane.
16:06 Their mane is usually wavy or curly, which just adds to the whole dramatic look too,
16:11 and also makes them one of the most sought-after horses for film and TV.
16:19 Number 3.
16:20 The Haflinger The Haflinger is a horse breed that originates
16:26 from the mountainous area of Haflinger, right between Austria and northern Italy.
16:31 Most people admire these horses for their gorgeous, chestnut coat and airy mane, but
16:36 their beauty isn't all on the surface.
16:39 They were originally bred to be the type of horse that could balance forestry and agriculture
16:44 in the best way possible, and it's proven to do just that.
16:48 They're also horses to drive and ride, and have very strong hooves and footing, which
16:53 made them the perfect candidate to serve in the Austrian army.
16:57 But they're not all muscles.
16:59 They're also known to be gentle giants, and even take part in assisted therapy because
17:04 they're so calm, gentle, and thoughtful.
17:09 Number 2.
17:10 The Gypsy The Gypsy horses are massive, strong horses
17:17 that can jump incredibly high and perform all types of stunts, and they do it while
17:22 whipping their amazingly thick, smooth, and shiny mane around.
17:27 But that's not all, they also have feathers on all four of their legs, just adding to
17:32 the flowiness of these horses overall.
17:35 Although they look like scary horses that are probably too proud of the way they look,
17:39 they're actually very gentle and great with kids, beautiful on the outside and in.
17:48 Number 1.
17:49 Aja Teke The Aja Teke may be a horse you've seen before
17:56 on the internet on forums of people wondering about how a horse can be this shiny.
18:02 But that's just thanks to their coat.
18:04 Where most hair shafts are opaque, the Aja Teke's hair shafts have a transparent medulla,
18:10 which makes them glisten in the sun.
18:12 Even though they come in several colors, the most popular one is white gold.
18:17 These horses hail from Turkmenistan and rarely exist outside of the country.
18:22 Their beautiful coloring, coats, and menaces paired with the fact that these are strong
18:26 horses that can ride for hundreds of miles without a problem.
18:30 Alright, comment below which of these horses you think is the most beautiful horse in the
