00:00 (upbeat music)
00:02 - For the All Blacks and Los Pumas,
00:06 World Cup year kicks off in the foothills of the Andes.
00:09 Men goes to the stage as Argentina and New Zealand
00:12 clash in round one of the 2023 Rugby Championship.
00:16 Kia ora tatou, welcome everyone,
00:18 as we bring you the first test in Argentina
00:20 between these teams to be played outside
00:22 of the Buenos Aires province.
00:24 So a bit of history in the making,
00:26 and the Pumas will be after more
00:28 as they seek their first ever win at home
00:30 against a team that they've now beaten twice since 2020.
00:33 Great excitement in this,
00:35 the Argentine rugby heartland,
00:37 Carlton Arnott and Justin Marshall,
00:40 joining me in commentary.
00:42 - No mate, Heidi, my good morning, good evening,
00:44 wherever you are joining us for Sky Sports coverage
00:47 here in New Zealand, as we look at the New Zealand team, TJ.
00:49 - Yeah, a lot of maneuvering,
00:51 Dane Coles to start at hooker
00:52 with Tyrell Lomax and Ethan DeGroot.
00:54 Josh Lord back in black alongside Scott Barrett,
00:58 and a loose trio of Shannon Frazelle,
01:00 Artie Savia and skipper Sam Cain.
01:02 A surprise for some,
01:03 Damien McKenzie getting the nod at 10 outside Aaron Smith.
01:07 Jordie Barrett and Rico Ioane make up the all black midfield,
01:10 and there's one debutant on the team,
01:12 Chiefs flyer Imani Narua joining Caleb Clark
01:15 and Bowden Barrett in the back three.
01:17 Plenty of proven firepower on the bench
01:20 with over 270 test caps worth of experience
01:23 in reserve for later on in the match.
01:26 So interesting selections for the all blacks,
01:31 there's a lot of balancing to be done
01:33 throughout this rugby championship.
01:35 The Pumas, well, they've come from far and wide,
01:40 scattered all around the globe.
01:42 They've had to make a late change too,
01:43 which we'll tell you about in a moment.
01:46 They've had less than two weeks together as a full squad,
01:49 but Michael Chek is up,
01:50 beats so too captain Julian Montorgia,
01:53 85th test for the Pumas hooker and captain,
01:56 big powerful and aggressive locking combination,
01:58 Lovanini and Alimano, some real class in the loose trio,
02:02 Pablo Matira, Rodrigo Bruni,
02:04 and one of the stars of 2022, Juan Martin Gonzalez.
02:08 50th cap for Gonzalo Bertrano at halfback,
02:12 Lucio Sinti moves into the centers,
02:14 and the change is on the left wing,
02:18 Sebastian Cancilleri, a late addition to the side,
02:22 little winger, Mateo Carreras,
02:24 failing a fitness test late in the piece,
02:26 veteran presence on the Pumas bench as well,
02:28 former skipper, Agustin Crivi, Matias Orlando,
02:31 and the one time backline kingpin, Nico Sanchez.
02:35 Well, certainly has been a turbulent last 12 months
02:44 since the All Blacks stepped out
02:45 at the start of the 2022 season,
02:48 series defeat to Ireland,
02:49 followed by a loss to the Springboks,
02:51 almost spelt the end for coach Ian Foster,
02:54 changes were made to the coaching structure,
02:58 some to the team,
02:59 and although they succumbed to the Pumas in Christchurch,
03:01 they ended up the year on a run of seven straight games
03:04 without defeat.
03:05 This is their first appearance in Argentina since 2019,
03:09 and the first time an All Black team has been in Mendoza
03:14 since 1991.
03:15 The Pumas, a mixed bag in 2022,
03:20 but scored two notable wins,
03:22 one over the All Blacks in Christchurch,
03:24 and the other at Twickenham over England,
03:27 which their coach would have enjoyed greatly.
03:29 They've had limited preparation,
03:30 many at the end of arduous campaigns in Europe,
03:34 but Michael Cheka talked during the week
03:36 of a great sense of excitement
03:39 as they look to complete the full set against the All Blacks.
03:42 They've beaten them on neutral ground,
03:44 they've beaten them in New Zealand.
03:45 Can they do it in front of this passionate home crowd
03:49 here in Mendoza in Argentina?
03:52 Fabulous reception for the home team,
04:07 Carl Tenana, as they come out,
04:08 and they will enjoy great conditions
04:10 for the sort of rugby they want to play.
04:12 - Well, one thing's for sure, TJ, they'll be emotional.
04:14 There's no doubt about that.
04:16 The home side, especially in front of the focal crowd,
04:18 what a banger of a day in Mendoza.
04:21 Perfect day to run.
04:22 - Other teams line up in the bright sunshine.
04:28 Beautiful, well-grassed pitch.
04:32 Cool early in the day.
04:34 Really bright conditions for these teams
04:41 as they line up for the anthems.
04:43 Interpretado por el señor Juan José Delgado.

10:04 - In all its glory,
10:23 the national anthem of Argentina.
10:25 And now the teams will line up,
10:30 the All Blacks,
10:31 for the first time in 2023,
10:35 to perform the Haka.
10:36 Just a clarification about the late change.
10:42 Bautista Del Gui is the man who's out Cancillary Inn.
10:47 And so Carreras is still there on the left wing
10:51 as the All Blacks line up now.
10:53 For the Haka.
10:54 (shouting)

12:23 (shouting)
12:25 - A great silence around the ground
12:46 as the All Blacks perform their Haka for the first time.
12:50 And then the chants go up for Argentina.
12:52 Angus Gardner, the referee, Nick Berry and Jordan Way,
12:55 fellow Australians, his assistants.
12:57 Brett Cronin is the TMO.
12:59 But we also have--
13:04 - I've got the all clear, you can start whenever you want.
13:07 - A fourth official,
13:08 as part of the judicial process,
13:12 for reference in the event of a yellow card here today.
13:17 Which we'll tell you about as the game gets underway.
13:21 But what a great setting it is
13:24 in the foothills of the Andes.
13:26 First test match of World Cup year
13:29 for the All Blacks of New Zealand,
13:32 the Pumas of Argentina.
13:34 - Black.
13:36 Okay, time on.
13:40 - And it will be Santiago Carreras to start the match.
13:47 - A big roar goes up as the ball goes deep
13:50 into All Black territory.
13:51 Where it's fielded by Jordie Barrett.
13:55 And the All Blacks now just looking to set things up
14:00 for a clearance.
14:01 Scott Barrett carrying it up.
14:03 And Damian McKenzie, whose kick is charged in the end goal.
14:08 Arms go in the air and the referee will check
14:12 this could be a sensational start for Argentina.
14:16 The All Blacks really dallyed about clearing the ball
14:20 and it could have gotten them into a whole lot of trouble here.
14:22 - They got to the midfield set,
14:24 but the ruck speed wasn't kicking.
14:26 Barrett-Smith stumbled a little bit.
14:27 So by the time the ball got to McKenzie,
14:29 he had huge pressure on him.
14:31 The charge down, they're going to have to look at grounding.
14:34 Who got their hand on it first,
14:35 an Argentinian player or Damian McKenzie?
14:38 - I think we're just going to look for a knock on first
14:40 initially from an Argentinian player.
14:42 (crowd cheering)
14:45 - Oh, it's charged down.
14:50 That's Materas.
14:51 Oh, I think McKenzie's got there.
14:55 - McKenzie's got there.
14:56 - So Angus, it looks like it's been grounded by Black there.
15:02 It's been put in by White.
15:03 So it'll be a goal line dropout.
15:04 - Okay, goal line.
15:06 Goal line dropout.
15:07 - So the All Blacks.
15:12 Dodge an early one and take the goal line dropout.
15:16 And there's Carreras.
15:21 Starting on the left wing,
15:24 the man who's been in such brilliant form for Newcastle.
15:27 - Lead in.
15:29 - Play up over the 10 metre mark.
15:35 There goes,
15:37 beyond Labanini to Lucio Cinti.
15:39 (crowd cheering)
15:41 Who moves into the midfield.
15:43 Good early possession for the Pumas.
15:48 They look to spread it wide.
15:53 Carreras, he's a real danger man.
15:56 He's got twinkling footwork.
15:58 Mokhtoja with the set,
16:03 and they go back to Carreras,
16:05 just inside his own half.
16:07 Kick out towards the wing.
16:09 Contesting it and coming away with it.
16:11 Caleb Clarke.
16:13 So good start for the All Black left winger.
16:15 Put under a bit of pressure.
16:17 Another carry from Ethan De Groot.
16:18 Away they go.
16:25 Big bump off, good strong carry from Adi Savia.
16:30 Turns it back in field.
16:31 The new man, Imoni Narua.
16:33 His first touch of the ball as an All Black.
16:36 De Groot hit hard in the tackle.
16:39 Ball's out.
16:40 Playoff.
16:41 Ball squirting out untidily on the All Black side
16:44 where it's picked up by Bowden Barrett.
16:46 Well, signs early on.
16:50 Step back, step back.
16:51 That suffocating Pumas defense that we saw
16:54 particularly in Christchurch last year.
16:56 Now the little chip downfield from Carreras,
17:04 but it's nicely taken by Damian McKenzie.
17:06 Barrett now sensing an opportunity
17:09 to move the ball into space,
17:10 but the ball not taken by his brother.
17:14 And so it'll be a scrum to Argentina on the 10 meter mark.
17:17 Well, quite evident of the line speed
17:19 Argentina are bringing.
17:21 All Blacks made a couple of little mini breaks there.
17:24 Ruck speed is okay,
17:25 but Argentina's mindset very, very clear.
17:28 They are looking to come forward
17:30 and put ball carriers under pressure
17:32 and stop distribution and more importantly offloads.
17:34 Yeah, and at the source too,
17:35 they're really kind of racking a couple of times.
17:37 I nearly went through and exposed the ball
17:39 at the back of the rack for the All Blacks.
17:40 But I liked the way they started.
17:42 They went long and ever since the All Blacks
17:43 have been shut down and they're only 22,
17:45 a great attacking opportunity here for Los Pumas.
17:48 It'll be Gonzalo Bertrano
17:51 in his 50th test match for Argentina.
17:54 Been out of action since January.
17:59 He had surgery on a problem ankle.
18:02 And so not a lot of game time at all behind him.
18:05 This year.
18:06 Taken off the back by Bruni.
18:11 Again, the tactic is to kick,
18:14 but Jamie and Mackenzie
18:16 equal to the challenge running back.
18:20 No great pressure on him, takes the mark.
18:22 All signs early on that the All Blacks
18:30 are going to have to be patient with this Pumas defense
18:34 marshaled by David Kidwell,
18:37 who did such a great job last year.
18:39 I think it's just absorbing the emotion of the Pumas,
18:43 especially in this first quarter is going to be key for them.
18:45 Boys, New Zealand step off the gap.
18:48 That'll be a line out throw for William Montalja
18:54 in his 85th test, but Scott Barrett getting up
18:57 and challenging in the All Blacks.
18:59 Winning a line out steal.
19:01 Rico Ioannis sells the dummy,
19:02 then accelerates over the 10 meter mark.
19:05 Narua trying to get on the outside.
19:08 Nicely tackled by Carreras,
19:10 but the All Blacks still have the ball.
19:13 Coles with a little tip on.
19:15 Shannon Frazell is there and they go inside the 22.
19:18 Barrett, away to Narua.
19:20 Been in sparkling form for the Chiefs.
19:24 Now a little punch up from Barrett.
19:25 It's a good one.
19:26 Coles is there and Dane Coles scores the opening try.
19:31 Great movement of the ball from the All Blacks.
19:34 And the first on the board.
19:37 - Oh, it's a high quality try as well.
19:39 The breakout from Rico Ioannis.
19:41 Nice interchange of passing.
19:43 McKenzie was looping around from depth.
19:45 Just a little show and go from Ioannis.
19:47 Then his speed, which he's got plenty of.
19:49 Outside to Narua.
19:51 They cut him down pretty well in both instances.
19:53 He gets his hands on the ball,
19:54 but his presentation of the ball was outstanding.
19:57 Aaron Smith there, quick as a flash.
19:58 Frazell, nice little pop to Bowden Barrett.
20:01 And then on the inside shoulder,
20:02 the veteran Dane Coles still showing enough speed
20:05 to get the job done.
20:06 - Okay boys, all clear for me.
20:09 - Good.
20:10 - BC.
20:12 - All clear, mate.
20:15 - Well, it was that nice short pass
20:18 that allowed Scott Barrett to breach the defense.
20:23 And well finished off by Dane Coles,
20:26 who like Montalga, playing his 85th Test match.
20:30 First start in a Test match for him in 20 months.
20:35 (crowd cheering)
20:38 Extraordinary.
20:40 A miss from Damian McKenzie from close range.
20:43 But the All Blacks lead it by five.
20:47 - Oh, look at the way Rico Ioannis,
20:49 the defense just drifts his half from the hole.
20:50 And you could see he was looking for
20:52 his right-hand winger straight away.
20:54 But the tip-ons are something very evident
20:55 the All Blacks have employed so far.
20:57 And there was two of them right there.
20:59 (crowd cheering)
21:02 - Might have taken just a little bit of sting
21:04 out of the crowd.
21:05 Josh Lord pulls it down for the All Blacks.
21:09 Confident start once they got their attack into gear.
21:15 Loden Barrett pumping it high,
21:19 down towards halfway, not taken cleanly.
21:22 And it's been grabbed by Nardala.
21:24 He's got players inside him.
21:26 Fires it back in field.
21:29 Shannon Frazell is there.
21:31 But now the ball's being lost.
21:32 Penalty, though.
21:35 And it's gone against Carreras,
21:38 leaving his feet at the breakdown.
21:40 Well, you said it before the game,
21:43 Carl Tenante, give Nardala the ball and things will happen.
21:46 - Yeah, and I think they've made a conscious effort,
21:48 haven't they?
21:49 The All Blacks to go to their right-hand side
21:50 has been involved.
21:51 Early doors, that's for sure.
21:54 Cheesy looks good too.
21:55 - And a couple of basic errors from Argentina.
21:58 One, defensively, when they let Rico Yoanes slip through.
22:02 And secondly, not containing the high ball.
22:04 The kick from Aaron Smith was a good one.
22:06 They lost that contest, went into the lap of Nardala.
22:09 And again, they just managed to pull him down,
22:11 but not out of the woods yet.
22:13 Line out, five from the line.
22:15 Lord pulls it down.
22:17 Coles, well, he's already got one.
22:19 And they're playing under advantage here.
22:23 An attempt to collapse them all.
22:27 Coles has still got it.
22:29 Edging forward now.
22:32 Now Smith clears it away.
22:37 Barrett, short pass away to Yoane.
22:39 He was almost through.
22:41 Savia waiting for it now.
22:44 Pumas having to marshal their defense.
22:50 Scott Barrett stretching almost to the line.
22:58 Now they're over, and it's Adi Savia.
23:00 Well, this is a great start for New Zealand.
23:02 - Just constant pressure.
23:07 The ruck speed again is very good.
23:09 The width of Aaron Smith's first pass
23:11 is getting past that third or fourth defender of Argentina.
23:15 And then the little tip-ons,
23:16 or a player getting in between defenders,
23:18 is really helping the ability for them
23:20 to keep Argentina pinned on their heels.
23:22 Scott Barrett went really close.
23:24 This is after good buildup.
23:26 Players touching the ball.
23:27 Savia had a touch early.
23:29 And this close to the line, he wants another one.
23:31 He's hungry, and he manages to get over on the chalk.
23:34 - Is he just timing,
23:37 or just navigating back to tight on navigating?
23:40 - Well, Damian McKenzie,
23:42 who missed his first one from close range.
23:46 - All clear.
23:47 - Has a chance to make amends.
23:50 This one just to the left of the post.
23:55 - A little whistling from the crowd.
23:57 Gets it very high.
23:59 And the ball again veers away to the right.
24:01 It's not judging the win, perhaps,
24:03 but there's two early misses for Damian McKenzie.
24:06 The All Blacks lead, though, by 10 to nil.
24:08 - And I think it's the All Black forwards
24:11 making a statement early on in this game.
24:14 The quick tip-ons, the nice hole run.
24:15 Scott Barrett has been an absolute monster
24:18 for the start of this game.
24:19 - Remember, too, that Barrett's one of the players
24:25 having to back up from the Super Rugby final
24:27 just a couple of weeks ago.
24:29 Again, good work receiving the restart from Lord.
24:37 Here is Scott Barrett again.
24:38 He's just got such an insatiable appetite for work.
24:41 Damian McKenzie, who hasn't had a great start to the game.
24:45 He's had a kick charge down,
24:47 missed two early shots at goal, too.
24:50 Now, Santiago Carreras decides
24:53 they've got to get something going here.
24:55 Here's Bruni, the number eight.
24:59 He's well met on the 10-meter mark.
25:01 And, uh, got a player down, too.
25:03 Looks like a bofelli.
25:06 The fullback has been hurt.
25:09 Carreras, again, they go to that wing
25:11 where the sunshine is bright,
25:13 but it's well met and taken by Bowden Barrett,
25:17 playing at fullback for the All Blacks.
25:21 McKenzie moving it on.
25:23 A nice control about the All Black performance
25:28 and some lovely passing, and here's more of it.
25:31 Bowden Barrett streaking down the left flank.
25:33 He's got Jordy inside him, and he'll score!
25:37 A breakout try, that's three!
25:40 Inside the first 11 minutes for the All Blacks.
25:43 Oh, scintillating stuff, it really is.
25:45 The ability to want to attack
25:47 from inside their own 22, the All Blacks.
25:51 Went down the blind side, Aaron Smith.
25:53 Found Bowden Barrett with Jordy as well.
25:55 He's got too much pace for the defender there.
25:58 Again, brings the last line of defense in really well.
26:00 Back on the inside to Jordy, they go back to back, 80 meters.
26:04 The All Blacks on fire.
26:05 I like the over-call from Bowden Barrett, though.
26:08 Was supposed to go open, he caught the blinds,
26:10 and was executed under pressure.
26:11 Just slick skills through the hands,
26:14 and in the end, Barrett to Barrett.
26:15 Oh, the boomers having almost scored early in the match,
26:20 just can't find a way into this game.
26:23 The slickness of the passing,
26:27 the execution of the movement
26:33 from the New Zealanders in the early stages
26:37 has been sublime.
26:38 Damian McKenzie, this,
26:44 a more difficult kick than the two he's missed.
26:48 (crowd cheering)
26:51 Taking his time, and as he judged this one, he has.
27:01 That's a much better kick from Damian McKenzie.
27:04 He picked the right man there, Aaron Smith.
27:08 He missed out Caleb Clark.
27:10 That got outside that last defender.
27:12 From there, they only had two covering defenders,
27:14 the Puma.
27:16 And too many black jerseys, look at all the support,
27:19 and the All Blacks waltz, and they are on fire,
27:22 as I said, at the moment.
27:23 This time, restart.
27:28 That was a little shorter.
27:29 Has been knocked through by Argentina.
27:32 - Nothing there, boys.
27:33 - Well tidied up by Josh Lord.
27:35 - Just a knock on there, boys.
27:37 Off the kick.
27:38 Scrum.
27:40 - So we'll have,
27:41 first scrum of the game.
27:44 (crowd cheering)
27:47 - Problem for the Pumas,
27:49 the only time they get their hands on the ball
27:49 is to restart and kick off.
27:51 At the moment, apart from that first 30 seconds,
27:54 they've been scrambling at the moment,
27:55 so the All Blacks here are doing good.
27:57 Just controlling the tempo.
27:58 - Keep the brake foots on, please.
28:00 Right out, no, right out to the air.
28:01 Yeah.
28:04 - Okay, Marty, you'll love this first scrum.
28:06 Had to wait 30 minutes for it, KT,
28:10 but we'll see how it plays out.
28:14 Argentina, they have improved in this zone big time.
28:16 It used to be a weapon for them decades ago,
28:20 and then they sort of went off the ball,
28:21 but now they've got a very powerful scrum.
28:23 Plenty of interest in this first one.
28:25 Who's going to get dominance early?
28:27 - Exciting player on the loose,
28:29 said Tom Garjol.
28:31 - Keep it up.
28:32 - Do battle with Tyrell Lomax on the All Black tight end.
28:35 So that's a good first scrum from the All Blacks.
28:37 And they've got the advantage.
28:40 - You've got advantage.
28:42 - They can throw everything at it here.
28:44 Rico Ioane,
28:46 strapping his way down over the 10 meter mark.
28:50 Smith, switcher play called by Damian McKenzie.
28:53 Nothing really on.
28:55 - Going nowhere there, boys.
28:57 Coming back.
28:58 - And Angus Gardner said it,
28:59 Damian McKenzie going nowhere.
29:02 And so they'll come back for the penalty.
29:04 - Number three.
29:05 - Geez, that was a good sign.
29:06 - Collapsing.
29:07 - From the All Black front eight at scrum time.
29:08 - White.
29:10 - Justin Marshall just speaking about how it has become
29:12 a real staple of the Argentinian team,
29:16 a real platform to launch off.
29:17 They had the attack in one.
29:18 - If you want to do it early, huh?
29:19 - The All Blacks, nice hold there.
29:20 - Just tell me, okay?
29:21 Otherwise I'll give you the opportunity to play.
29:23 - Well, the credit will go to Ethan De Groot.
29:25 On the loose head side,
29:26 we were looking at the other side of the scrum
29:29 as it went down, but that's where the penalty come.
29:32 Came Lucio Sordoni.
29:38 All Blacks win the line out ball.
29:40 Iolani getting plenty of ball.
29:41 Clark, well, the pass wasn't quite where
29:45 Emoni Ngaruwa wanted it.
29:47 Sails harmlessly into touch.
29:49 Just a little bit of respite here
29:52 for the plumbers who've been under fire.
29:55 Thomas Labanini.
30:08 Takes his place towards the front of the line out.
30:11 Montosha.
30:13 Remember, they lost their first one.
30:14 They challenged that one too.
30:16 Oh, Law did well again.
30:21 Getting airborne, putting pressure on,
30:23 but he just got a hand on it.
30:24 They're really attacking them at the set piece.
30:29 - Yeah.
30:30 Jump the other side, Gus.
30:32 - I think that's a big reason why
30:33 Josh Law has been given this opportunity
30:35 at line out time just to be...
30:36 - Keep those breakwoods out, please.
30:38 Make sure they don't come back out again, please.
30:40 - And general play as well.
30:42 - Well, he won't be suffering from any staleness
30:44 after Super O.
30:45 We only had 120 minutes of action for the Chiefs.
30:49 But he has made a terrific start to this test.
30:54 - Cross.
30:55 Blind.
30:59 - A little worried look on the face of Petrano.
31:05 This is not the start they wanted.
31:07 Rooney off the back, Petrano sends it into the midfield
31:12 where Sinti has been touched by a New Zealand player.
31:16 That kick, Clarke can't mop it up.
31:18 The ball's got to sail over the touchline.
31:20 In fact, had the head got, went out on the full.
31:22 - I think there has to come a time now.
31:28 I know it's only early doors in this test match, but...
31:30 - Just keep your gap, please, White.
31:32 - Argentina have kicked a lot of ball away already
31:34 and they've got no change from any of it.
31:36 And the All Blacks have hurt them from Eden Deke.
31:38 They've got to think about ball in hand.
31:40 - Lord it is.
31:42 Lineout time, Savia up to the 10 meter mark.
31:48 There's a nice rhythm about this.
31:51 Mackenzie goes high.
31:56 Almost looking into the sun in the first half.
32:01 Well, that's beautifully taken by Carreras.
32:04 Santiago Carreras.
32:06 Two men with that name in this former's team, not related.
32:12 - Well done, good lesson.
32:13 - Alemanu waiting for it on the left,
32:18 but then a little shake of the head.
32:20 Go behind him.
32:21 Can they get something going?
32:23 Trying to slip through was Mateo Carreras, the left winger.
32:30 Shot off the ball from Josh Lord,
32:32 that's going to incur a penalty.
32:34 - Number seven.
32:36 - In fact, it was Sam Kane.
32:38 - And six.
32:39 - He's being picked up.
32:40 - Number eight, where's number eight?
32:45 Come please.
32:48 - Well, traditionally, this is well within the range
32:51 of Emiliano Buffelli.
32:54 He can pelt the ball.
32:55 - If you clearly push it into the black player, okay?
32:58 He was pushing it into the black player, okay?
33:01 So just play the ball, okay?
33:02 - So just a little warning there about being accurate
33:05 from Angus Gardner to captain Montoya.
33:09 But yes, you know, he can kick it from here,
33:11 no problem whatsoever.
33:12 Argentina behind early in this test match by 17 points,
33:15 probably changed their mindset big time.
33:17 - Yeah, I think they need to, don't they?
33:22 They used to tackle off the ball,
33:24 but I think there was only one option.
33:25 They know if they go up in threes,
33:27 they're not going to stick with this all black team.
33:28 - Absolutely.
33:29 Not the mood they're in.
33:31 - It was Lord who actually made the legitimate tackle.
33:35 Kane off the ball, and so here's a chance.
33:39 Now, do they go to their drive?
33:42 Used to be such a weapon.
33:43 And they take it down.
33:47 Montoya has it in the back.
33:50 Had a little look.
33:51 And now, penalty advantage going to the home team.
33:59 Scott Barrett emerges with it,
34:00 but he's the man who's been penalized.
34:02 - Well, that was an interesting tactic.
34:11 They are out a bit further than what they're going to be now,
34:14 but they went for the five man line out
34:15 and got a drive going.
34:17 Montoya at the back was the man,
34:19 as you can see with ball in hand now,
34:22 that was trying to orchestrate it from there.
34:24 They go more traditional now.
34:27 (crowd cheering)
34:29 - Chance for the Pumas to get some points on the board.
34:33 Charging at the line, Matera.
34:38 Ball's been lost through the hands,
34:41 has he? Yes, it's been dropped.
34:43 Lovanini was over.
34:45 But the handling wasn't what it needed to be.
34:51 And so the Pumas are denied.
34:54 - You get two pieces of bravery here from the All Blacks.
34:56 The first one was to chuck a man up in the lift.
34:59 That's one piece of bravery.
35:01 They lose it, but the second one from Damian McKenzie,
35:04 making that important tackle there,
35:06 just to buy a little time.
35:07 - That was Bruni, the ball through his hands.
35:12 Well, equally, it was the shot from Lomax,
35:18 because Bruni was coming low.
35:19 So had he even caught that ball,
35:21 because Lomax went at that midsection,
35:23 which is where the pass went,
35:25 his area of catching it was compromised.
35:27 A really good tactical appreciation
35:31 of where he needed to hit the ball carrier
35:33 from Tyrell Lomax.
35:34 Potentially awkward situation for the Scrum here
35:40 for New Zealand, right by the posts.
35:43 Cuts down some of their passing options,
35:45 so they look to power it up
35:46 and maybe win a penalty, which they do.
35:49 - Could be right up there, pushing straight.
35:51 - Already there's blow-ups in Los Pumas' front row.
35:56 Gasho, Montoy and Sordoni look straight at the ref,
35:59 thought they had the way on in their Scrum.
36:01 They thought they were straight.
36:02 You're right, TJ, one of the toughest places to exit.
36:06 Run under your own post,
36:07 but they get away with that one, the All Blacks.
36:09 - So they've survived a couple of challenges now
36:17 on their own goal line from the Pumas.
36:19 The early charge down.
36:22 In the handling mistake with the goal line at their mercy,
36:28 so the Pumas still not on the board
36:30 after 21, 22 minutes of the game.
36:34 Frazell couldn't reach it, an overthrow,
36:41 and Bruni has it for the Pumas.
36:44 Lavanini goes hard at Frazell.
36:47 Now Sordoni moves it on.
36:52 Taken in the tackle is Matheus Moroni.
36:57 Keep working it away towards the left.
36:59 Gonzalez was one of the heroes of that win
37:03 in Christchurch last year.
37:05 Seems to get a bit of continuity into their game here.
37:12 The Pumas have just been none so far.
37:14 Now here's the danger man, Carreras,
37:17 puffing up on the right-hand side.
37:19 He's been storming onto it as Bruni.
37:21 This is more like it from the Pumas.
37:22 Lavanini is there, wrestled to the ground by Lorde,
37:26 but now the crowd start to find their voice again.
37:31 Montoya moving it on.
37:39 Carreras to Sordoni, and the big tight end front lowered
37:43 just inside the 22.
37:46 Beautiful offload from Bruni,
37:48 but fairly up into the line.
37:50 Kane trying to get hands on the ball,
37:53 but the Pumas clear, big pass out wide.
37:57 Moroni barreled into touch.
37:59 Excellent defense.
38:02 Naruwa and Barrett denying him.
38:08 Well, they went for the big Hail Mary pass, didn't they?
38:11 It was so well constructed up until that point.
38:13 Big fin, Moroni on Adi Savia, not many do that.
38:16 Really good line from Bruni.
38:18 The offload as well.
38:19 The short interchanging, the little punches tight
38:22 were working really well.
38:23 It was when they went for the big looper,
38:25 it didn't quick line out from the All Blacks.
38:26 Savia strong out of the 22.
38:29 Yeah, they fired it over the back.
38:30 And the mood they're in,
38:34 they look like they're gonna run it
38:35 from every, oh, Jordy Barrett almost sneaking through
38:39 and losing his feet.
38:42 He got into good position,
38:44 but as he lost his footing,
38:47 he continued to play at the ball.
38:50 He might've hit a hamstring in the process as well.
38:53 It's a matira.
38:55 Just looks like it will be cramped
39:04 more than a problem with the hamstring,
39:06 which will be a relief.
39:08 Big time, not only for the side today,
39:10 but equally for Michael Chekka.
39:12 Pablo Matera, he is such an integral part of this side.
39:16 He would not like to lose him.
39:17 Well, we all remember,
39:20 it's interesting when Dane Coles got named on the team
39:22 'cause we just remember the fireworks
39:25 between the two of them, absolutely.
39:28 Hamilton last year, as it turns out,
39:30 might've been more about something Coles said
39:32 rather than he did, which usually does have a portion
39:36 of it to play when Dane Coles is involved.
39:38 Certainly didn't end with a handshake.
39:42 Here is Coles.
39:44 Brazil, again, the target at the back of the line out,
39:49 Jordy Barrett, who's run hard, strong, and straight,
39:53 and he's proving a handful since he eventually
39:55 gets him onto the ground.
39:56 But once again, New Zealand has the front foot
39:58 punching onto it, Bowden Barrett.
40:01 Player not rolling away, so another penalty advantage.
40:04 Bit of a loose one, but McKenzie picks it up,
40:06 has a look one way, then the other, round the back he goes,
40:09 swings it away, Clark, bumping off the first one.
40:12 That's Cancelieri.
40:13 Looking for a runner was Aaron Smith.
40:18 And another tackle off the ball this time.
40:21 The other way, I think it might be Ethan,
40:22 a group was lowered there.
40:24 McKenzie trying a little chip through.
40:25 Rebounds for Lord, moved on quickly by Narua.
40:30 But Barrett just couldn't reel in a low dropping pass,
40:34 so they'll come back for the penalty.
40:36 Yeah, it was a free play,
40:38 they knew they had the penalty advantage.
40:39 They went to the line out, they overthrew last time
40:43 on that side of the field, trying the same move.
40:44 They get it this time, and there's a nice setup
40:46 from Jordy Barrett, backed up by some forwards
40:49 coming around the corners.
40:50 Getting way over the advantage line at the moment.
40:53 You just need to go line out here, Marci.
40:55 I think they will, McKenzie's not finding it easy
40:59 for some reason in these conditions.
41:02 You can see a bit of wind around, so it's worth the gamble
41:06 that close to go for the line out.
41:08 They've been so efficient so far, the All Blacks,
41:10 particularly in this zone around the left.
41:12 And that was Garjo.
41:16 Early and off the ball.
41:20 Coles, taken down nicely by Barrett,
41:25 really had to stretch for it,
41:26 but they've got it set again.
41:29 I think Marnold's tried to come through the middle,
41:31 so they release it.
41:32 Jordy Barrett now crunching into the midfield defense
41:37 of the Pumas.
41:39 Forwards lining up away to the right.
41:41 Frizzell, strong into contact.
41:44 Now Caleb Clarke comes in, he's lowered by Labanini.
41:48 Kane, put on the ground by Moroni.
41:54 De Groot, got one on Hamilton last year.
41:59 Now McKenzie looks out towards the wing with the kick.
42:03 Barrett is there, Jordy.
42:04 Clarke, trying to go around the outside
42:07 and offload infield to Bowden Barrett.
42:11 Knock on advantage here, it'll be a scrum New Zealand.
42:15 This might be a deliberate knock down
42:23 from one of the wingers, I think.
42:25 - All right, BC.
42:26 - Here we go, yeah, I think it's a check.
42:28 - This would have been try time on the inside to Barrett.
42:30 - So we're checking for a potential deliberate knock on.
42:32 - Yeah.
42:33 - Now he's referred this one to Brett Cronin, the TMO.
42:37 There is a foul play review.
42:40 A separate official in this match.
42:43 Well, he's certainly stuck a hand out, hasn't he?
42:46 I think it's more Frizz than anything
42:48 that his hand is actually.
42:49 - One sec, let me have a look.
42:52 - Just pass here on the inside.
42:54 - Nah, he's going in for the tackle.
42:56 - Yeah, he's going in for the tackle.
42:57 - Totally agree. - Not deliberate for me.
42:58 - Yeah.
42:59 - Totally agree.
43:00 Yeah, Rodrigo Bruni--
43:01 - He's going in for the tackle there.
43:02 - Is the man-- - Back to me, just scrum.
43:03 - In a burden.
43:04 - Part of the tackle.
43:09 - No real relief here.
43:12 No, well, and the thing now is mindset.
43:15 Because the All Blacks have won three penalties
43:18 through scrum, and now it's five meters out from the line.
43:21 - Just keep pushing straight, yeah.
43:22 - The Pumas will know that they have to keep
43:25 every player on the scrum, including the Lucis,
43:27 which then opens it up for Savia, Smith, Clark,
43:30 who'll be coming from behind the scrum,
43:32 all to get in motion, because the Lucis
43:34 will be slightly slower off the scrum.
43:36 They have to stay on or they'll get pushed over.
43:38 - Yeah, you gotta commit, don't they?
43:39 And that's what they're talking about right here, both sides.
43:42 Like I said, that's the opportunity
43:43 for one-on-one matchups on the outside.
43:47 - Well, Lucio Sordoni, the tight-head prop.
43:51 I feel he was just trying to put a little picture
43:53 in Angus Gardner's mind there.
43:54 He wasn't happy with that penalty
43:55 down the other end of the field.
43:57 Michael Cheka passively watching on.
44:04 He could have felt this was a really good opportunity
44:09 to make a good start in the championship.
44:12 - You could just see Pablo Matera there.
44:15 He was pulling a couple of his defenders across.
44:17 He wants Carreras to get closer to him,
44:20 Betien, just to stop that gap
44:22 where Savia can go around him.
44:24 - They've got a full width of the field away to his right here.
44:27 Aaron Smith has a little dart.
44:30 McKenzie offloads it to Jordie Barrett.
44:34 Trying to keep him up off the ground, Ismarone.
44:36 Now they've got to let him go.
44:38 Pops the ball away to Frazelle.
44:40 More defending coming up here for the Pumas.
44:45 McKenzie pops it into space.
44:47 Rico Ioanni!
44:51 Nice little offload from McKenzie.
44:54 34th test try for Rico Ioanni.
44:57 - And the evolution of Rico Ioanni in the 13 jersey.
45:00 He made a beautiful break earlier on.
45:02 Just see there at the line, the pre-line footwork
45:04 gets him through the hole.
45:06 Nice try.
45:07 - Hit the angle perfectly,
45:08 but look at the work of McKenzie.
45:09 He takes enough depth that he's got time
45:12 to bring that last defender.
45:13 He's slightly lateral,
45:15 but he's got good movement onto the ball.
45:17 All Rico Ioanni needed to do
45:20 was just stay committed to his line,
45:21 which he did.
45:22 McKenzie brought that last defender
45:23 and put the pass in the hole
45:25 and his speed and his power
45:27 was enough to get the job finished.
45:29 Oh, four tries for the All Blacks.
45:33 And now McKenzie
45:37 will line up the conversion.
45:41 He's found his radar now.
45:50 A couple of early problems,
45:52 but half an hour gone
45:54 and it's been all New Zealand.
45:57 24 to nil.
45:58 - Well, it's a great point you make.
46:00 Martial, when you do go lateral like this,
46:02 you have a guy who has to straighten,
46:03 has to straighten somewhere
46:04 and he does it beautifully into the hole.
46:06 Good skills executed, 10.30.
46:09 - And Rico Ioanni with that try
46:14 joins Mills Mulyaina as the 11th
46:17 highest All Black.
46:20 Try and score it, one more
46:22 and he'll match John Kerwin in 10th.
46:23 They go back to a deep restart.
46:29 Jordie Barrett is in,
46:30 there's just so much confidence
46:31 flowing through this New Zealand team
46:33 at the moment.
46:34 - Stay, stay.
46:34 - Back they go.
46:46 The boat in Barrett.
46:47 - All on.
46:48 - High kick, it's not going to go into touch.
46:51 Clark up there to challenge.
46:53 And eventually, Cancelieri has got it.
46:56 - Sorry boys, two knock-ons.
46:59 - Well, he might have heard there the over call
47:02 from TMO Brett Cronin.
47:04 He said two knock-ons there,
47:06 first by New Zealand
47:07 and so they'll have a scrum.
47:09 - Well, it's good pressure from Caleb Clark
47:14 'cause it wasn't a great exit kick from boat in Barrett.
47:17 He was under a bit of pressure
47:18 but Clark just put the hammer down,
47:20 got himself into the area to make it difficult
47:23 for Cancelieri and did enough.
47:26 Yes, he knocked it on as well
47:27 but not giving up on the chase,
47:30 turning a bad kick into something positive
47:32 and making it difficult for the opposition.
47:33 The All Blacks have been doing it
47:35 absolutely sublime in this first 31 minutes
47:38 of this test so far.
47:39 - Crouch.
47:40 - Stand up, stand up.
47:46 - Yeah.
47:48 - Just, it's obviously,
47:50 I know I've been touching him
47:51 and it's putting him off, okay?
47:52 So just wait for that call to bind.
47:54 - Yeah, cheers.
47:55 - Sorry, sorry, pardon me.
47:56 - No, it's all right.
47:58 - Get it louder, it's all right.
48:01 - Let's go.
48:02 - All right, you son of a...
48:07 - Here we go, guys, here we go.
48:08 - What can they come up with?
48:10 They'll be desperate to get something on the board
48:12 before half time.
48:13 - Come on now.
48:14 Come on, boys.
48:17 - Close the mic.
48:17 - Crouch.
48:18 - Just need a bit of punch.
48:19 I think midfield punch.
48:20 We haven't seen Sinti or Moroni really in the game
48:21 with ball in hand.
48:22 I don't know if they're worried about the defense
48:24 of Jordi Barrett in this situation.
48:26 - Get it out.
48:27 - Popped in by Vetrano.
48:30 They're just waiting for it.
48:33 - Boy, it's a scorching defense.
48:38 That was a skipper,
48:39 the skipper Sam Kane,
48:41 who got a crunching tackle to force the error.
48:43 - Knock on was outside.
48:44 - They've got to work something
48:45 between Cancellieri and Carreras.
48:48 And it all came to a shuddering halt.
48:49 - Just when I said, watch out for Jordi Barrett,
48:51 watch out for Sam Kane.
48:53 Left his feet, right shoulder on,
48:55 and absolutely nailed,
48:57 nailed Cancellieri.
49:00 - Cancellieri didn't cancel him, he did.
49:03 - There's been a lot of discussion
49:06 who should be in that seven jersey.
49:07 I think he just made a statement right there
49:08 with the skipper.
49:09 - It was.
49:11 Got off the scrum nice and quick
49:12 because there was some width in that attack.
49:13 They tried to hit that hole in between him
49:15 and Aaron Smith,
49:16 who had pushed out a little bit more.
49:18 But Sam Kane, with his experience, his knowledge,
49:21 he got across,
49:22 and not only did he just make the tackle,
49:23 he made a turnover tackle.
49:25 - Well, it's a scrum,
49:27 and we're in Argentina,
49:29 so the crowd volume increases.
49:31 But the All Blacks have had the upper hand at scrum time.
49:35 And here's another penalty.
49:37 And Sordoni is in all sorts of trouble
49:40 on that Puma's tight end side.
49:42 (crowd cheering)
49:44 We can tell, obviously, a lot of work,
49:45 a lot, a lot of work has been going into that scrum
49:48 for the All Blacks.
49:49 And man, it's showing up so far in 33 minutes.
49:53 They're at it at the moment, big time, Argentina.
50:00 They're making errors,
50:01 they're getting penalties against them at ruck,
50:03 at scrum time.
50:04 Their aerial work isn't great at the moment.
50:08 They're getting beaten,
50:08 ruck speed at the breakdowns.
50:10 They need to get things together real quick.
50:12 Coles, Lorde.
50:15 Transfers it to the back.
50:20 Coles is there.
50:21 Got a march on again here now too.
50:25 He's just holding a couple of forwards off,
50:30 but they continue to march forward.
50:33 Now Smithord just got a bit awkward on him there.
50:35 The scrum actually, sorry, the ball collapsed.
50:38 Now flying up Bowden Barrett, trying to make a tackle.
50:41 And it's another kick.
50:45 Seems play down towards the All Black 22.
50:49 It was the little winger, Carreras.
51:02 He really just hasn't had a chance to shine.
51:04 We know how brilliant he is with ball in hand,
51:06 but just nothing's gone his way.
51:08 Time off.
51:09 Take your time off.
51:11 We've got a boot.
51:12 Time off.
51:12 After the turnover though, Marcia, I'm with you.
51:17 The Pumas looking to kick straight away.
51:19 They've had hardly any ball to attack,
51:20 but they do have the players to do that.
51:23 Guys, you're speaking about Sinti and Marrone.
51:25 The key to that, they just haven't had any chances.
51:27 There was a great chance for them there.
51:28 I can't hardly remember us mentioning Buff Valley.
51:32 He's really got his hands on the ball.
51:33 Maybe earlier he had a little touch.
51:35 Few of their key players just are not able
51:37 to get into the game.
51:38 They've kicked a lot of ball away,
51:40 and their own errors when they've had ball in hand
51:42 or the All Blacks putting too much pressure
51:44 on them defensively has not allowed them into the game.
51:47 They've been completely shut out.
51:49 I mentioned Martel Carreras there.
51:51 He's just been in brilliant form for Newcastle,
51:55 scoring tries where he's been brave enough
51:57 to run the ball from his own 22.
51:59 Here was that early chance.
52:03 It's going forward on that side.
52:04 Damian McKenzie got back, tied it up.
52:07 He's earning the turn.
52:08 The mess.
52:09 Cool, thanks.
52:09 But really, they've only had two opportunities inside the 22.
52:17 Haven't been able to take them the rest of the time.
52:19 They have been on the back foot.
52:22 And again, you know, let's think of the time
52:23 they were in the 22 when the score was a lot better
52:27 than what it is now, and they shelled the ball.
52:29 Bruni couldn't hold the pass,
52:30 and they gave it back to the All Blacks.
52:32 Then they got bundled into touch.
52:33 Well, Lord again, coming right to the front of the line out.
52:36 Savio.
52:37 As always, fighting for every millimeter.
52:46 Alemano got stuck in there.
52:48 But you fall on that side.
52:53 Number four.
52:55 One of their tackling techniques they're very good at.
52:57 They go high on the ball, and then a lot of the times
52:59 they end up on the opposition side of the ruck.
53:01 Five in a row, two of scrums.
53:02 Of course, the All Blacks had numbers at that ruck,
53:04 because no way Alemano could get out of it.
53:06 (crowd cheering)
53:08 Kicked Sayles out just short of the 22.
53:13 - Going to need to be careful as well now,
53:14 in this zone in particular.
53:16 They've got five penalties against them on the bounce,
53:18 Argentina, that they will start to be looked at.
53:20 - Down the back, All Black line out functioning well.
53:25 That time it was Frazell, and again,
53:27 direct hard line of Jordi Barrett,
53:30 but storming through the middle of it,
53:32 pinching it is Bruni for Argentina.
53:36 And again, they kicked Moroni that time,
53:40 and he sends it out on the full.
53:42 - You went back, it's fine.
53:45 - Did I say rattled?
53:46 They are in all sorts at the moment.
53:50 They have no rhythm, do they?
53:53 - That's the thing, you finally get a nice turnover
53:55 from your number, and he's got there,
53:57 and then he kicked the ball away.
53:59 - All the All Blacks are up, because they were on the chat.
54:02 So the back three would have to scramble back.
54:04 The kick just needed to be in play, it went out in the full.
54:06 - You'd expect more from a player
54:08 of Matias Moroni's vast experience.
54:11 Now they go down the short side through Shannon Frazell,
54:13 who's carried the ball strongly.
54:15 Cole says, "I got this," Adi Savia,
54:18 his Hurricanes teammate is there to carry it on.
54:21 De Groot now, another black wave coming
54:26 towards the Argentina line.
54:32 Savia trying to fight his way through heavy traffic,
54:36 even he can't get through that lot.
54:37 But here's Frazell again, getting the ball in his hands
54:40 at every opportunity.
54:41 Sam Kane now, taken in the tackle by Lovagnini,
54:46 and penalty advantage.
54:48 McKenzie calls the switch to the left.
54:51 Clark is there, can't get through the tackle of Cancilleri.
54:56 But they're lining up again for the All Blacks.
55:00 Scott Barrett.
55:02 (crowd shouting)
55:04 Jordi Barrett was looking for a run,
55:09 gonna take it up another couple of notches
55:12 through the forwards.
55:13 - Nothing there.
55:14 - And here's the double blast.
55:17 (crowd shouting)
55:20 - I know the ball, they come from the side,
55:23 they hit my knee.
55:24 - Yeah.
55:25 - What do you want me to do?
55:26 - Yeah, look, look.
55:27 - I pull it up?
55:28 - I understand what you're saying,
55:29 but for me, you were never supporting your body weight
55:31 at the start, okay?
55:32 You're too long, and your hands are on the floor, okay?
55:35 And then you went off feet, okay?
55:37 Now there's a couple on the bounce at the tackle now.
55:39 So if we continue to have ones at the tackle.
55:41 - Can I say one thing?
55:42 - Yeah.
55:42 - I know your point.
55:43 - Yeah.
55:44 - There is no consistency.
55:45 - Okay.
55:46 - They go, come from the floor.
55:47 - Yeah.
55:47 - It's the same.
55:48 - But for me, you're killing the ball,
55:50 but you get my point?
55:51 Thank you.
55:52 Okay, speak to you guys, please.
55:54 Thanks, Julian.
55:55 - I love the way he says, "I hear what you're saying."
55:56 - Thank you, guys.
55:57 - Not really.
55:59 - I think this is an interpretation
56:00 for the Northern Hemisphere referees
56:02 and the Southern hemisphere referees.
56:03 As soon as you go to deck here in the Southern Hemisphere,
56:06 you gotta leave that ball alone,
56:07 whereas in the Northern Hemisphere,
56:09 you can slow it down, they give you a bit more weight,
56:12 I think, so that's something Argentina needs to adapt to.
56:14 He's going.
56:18 - I can't see it.
56:20 - Dane Coles.
56:27 The line out, five from the line.
56:30 Frazell, he's done some really good work
56:34 down towards the back of that all black line out.
56:37 Coles, he's got one, he's looking for another.
56:41 Twaya in the side.
56:45 This could be a yellow card coming up,
56:48 could be a double whammy.
56:50 Coles pops it away.
56:51 Aaron Smith has a go, he's in.
56:53 - Number eight in the side.
56:56 - And a yellow card to boot for Rodrigo Bruni.
57:00 Oh, well, double blow big time from Argentina.
57:04 They gambled on the line out throw,
57:05 they threw Lovaneni up from that point in time,
57:08 they were always vulnerable.
57:09 The all black's momentum started going forward
57:12 and Dane Coles was in control.
57:13 The only way they could stop it
57:15 or negate it was illegally,
57:17 so they were under penalty pressure.
57:18 Aaron Smith, quick as a flash,
57:20 slightly dummy to the outside,
57:23 pounced on it and they lose a man to the bin.
57:25 Argentina, it just gets worse.
57:28 - Absolutely ruthless from this all black's forward pack.
57:32 Nice execution at line out, great drive.
57:36 Keep their composure and just flex their muscles.
57:41 - Coletes wasn't happy,
57:44 felt that the referee got in his way,
57:47 that there was no way he was going to tackle Aaron Smith.
57:50 Damian McKenzie with this kick
57:53 has a chance to bring up 30.
57:55 Time almost up in the first half.
58:01 Just sneaks the kick inside the line
58:17 of the left hand upright.
58:18 That's half time.
58:20 Well, against a challenging backdrop,
58:22 the All Blacks could hardly have hoped
58:24 for a better start to the rugby championship.
58:27 They lead Argentina at half time by 31 to nil.
58:31 - Welcome back to Sky Studios.
58:37 What a cracking start for the first test of the year.
58:39 Five tries in the space of 40 minutes.
58:42 Argentina had chances three times,
58:44 but couldn't score, Jeff.
58:45 - Cracking start for the All Blacks.
58:47 One team's shown up, they're prepared,
58:48 wanted to play well on top of the ground.
58:50 The other team hasn't shown up,
58:51 has been beaten up front,
58:53 and defensively have been weak on the edges.
58:55 Look, this is an impressive first 40 minutes
58:57 in the All Blacks.
58:58 - Well, we talked about the physicality,
58:59 and the All Blacks have owned that.
59:01 Good start, a little bit jittery start.
59:03 You know, I thought it could possibly,
59:04 Argentina was up 38 seconds.
59:06 - 30 seconds, a jittery start.
59:06 - Hey, you guys were all nervous in there.
59:08 - No, not at all.
59:09 - I said, settle down, we'll be all right.
59:10 But, you know, they took the ball by the horns,
59:12 and they've controlled that first half.
59:14 I think they'll be pretty happy,
59:15 but a couple of things to work on.
