00:10 >> I went to the U.S. specifically to the space course
00:12 to study engineering and learn about space technology
00:17 and space science to be able to achieve this dream
00:20 of exploring outer space.
00:23 I came back to Dubai.
00:24 At that time, the UAE Space Agency was established.
00:28 So this is where I started, you know, thinking about,
00:30 I should have my own space missions and space activities.
00:34 And then I met my business partner.
00:36 So we thought that if we join efforts and work as one team,
00:40 we would achieve our mutual goals and objectives.
00:44 >> I'm an educator, and I have a strong belief
00:47 that the converging arts and sciences will work together
00:50 to innovate in any future sector,
00:53 especially also the space sector.
00:55 We brought our current passions together, and for me,
00:58 was definitely investing in project-based education
01:02 and creating our first space project together.
01:06 >> We decided to create competitions,
01:08 and it was open to all students to propose ideas
01:12 for a science experiment
01:14 that we would send actually to space.
01:17 It was very difficult to choose one,
01:19 but we finally chose the most suitable one.
01:22 We wanted to study the behavior of this bacteria in space.
01:26 We worked with the students for almost a year
01:29 to launch this experiment to space.
01:32 >> This experience was really wonderful for the students,
01:36 the young people, and a very successful experience for us
01:40 as a starting point to think about what else is possible.
01:44 >> We thought, let's work on a satellite project.
01:47 These CubeSats, you can work on them and have them ready
01:50 to launch within a year or two.
01:52 In summer 2021, this very small satellite was launched,
01:57 and now it's actually orbiting around Earth,
02:00 and we have a ground station here where we receive signals.
02:05 >> Ground station makes it possible for the students
02:07 to develop and propose and submit code to the satellite,
02:13 and this is a really amazing thing for students.
02:16 >> Working with the Dubai Silicon Oasis
02:18 and specifically DTEC as a technology incubator was very
02:22 important to us.
02:24 >> We are a very good partner with Mohammed Burraja Space Center,
02:27 so that kind of partnership helped us to build this kind
02:31 of environment for a startup to come in the space industry,
02:36 and we will help them to grow from here to the global reach.
02:42 >> Space really is for everyone.
02:45 It's all of our responsibilities to contribute
02:48 and to find a way to create and be innovative in this section.
