Most of Lord Howe Island off limits to visitors due to 'highly infectious' plant disease myrtle rust

About 70 per cent of Lord Howe Island has been closed due to the growing risk of an invasive plant disease known as myrtle rust. The plant fungus could impact species that are unique to the island, which lies about 600 kilometres off the New South Wales coast.
