The UAE makes history with today's lunar mission, as the Rashid Rover launches into space for a lunar landing. Journalists, media members and top officials arrived into the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center (MBRSC) in Al Khawaneej. If successful, the UAE will become the first Arab country and the fourth country in the world to land on the lunar surface after the United States, Soviet Union, and China. The rover will travel 385,000km to reach the moon. Once the payload is in orbit, the lander separates and the final parts of the rocket are discarded.
