Appaloosa is a one-album student folk group from Boston (Boston, Massachusetts), which existed from 1968 to 1970. Appaloosa (Appaloosa) - an American breed of horses, fragile physique, but very hardy ... The author, guitarist, vocalist of the group was John Parker Compton, who, together with violinist Robin Batteau, created the short-lived duet Compton & Batteau (one album in 1970), and further released the 1972 solo album To Luna . Then he disappeared from sight for more than 20 years, and in the mid-90s he returned and released the album Mother of Mercy(1995)... Donovan and Tim Hardin were his clear favorites... The producer and active musician on this album was Al Kooper. Musicians from the band Blood, Sweat & Tears also helped. A detailed history of the band is on the covers in the archive (by Ritchie Unterberger).
