Access to medical care can be tricky at the best of times in Australia's capital cities. So when the emergency department closes in a small, country hospital, it often causes upheaval and distress for entire communities. Rural doctors in South Australia say hospital services will continue to be lost if a recruitment problem for medicos isn't finally treated.
