The R129-million spent on performance bonuses at Eskom were self-funded. That's according to the cash-strapped utility's spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha. He says while criticism against the spending is valid, the bonuses were funded by savings, achieved from improved performance. Mantshantsha says it was only paid to employees and not management.
