As concerns grow over the rapid spread of COVID-19, the South African Medical Association has confirmed a lack of ventilators is among issues putting doctors under stress. Dr Irene Boeddinghaus, an oncologist at Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital in Cape Town, says patients are far sicker than during the first wave.
